> Xbox Series X and I cannot swap weapons at all. Other than that bug game is fun and smooth.

Check controller remapping in Settings… “Y” is probably assigned to nothing.

Making a list, don’t have a lot of feedback and some of it will be reiterated from the last flight.

  • Repulsor is really fun, nothing really to note other than that. - I like the tweaked weapon spawn locations on Recharge, makes a little more risky to start the game with a grapple and/or Ravager. - I still would like it if the AI scan pulse also showed respawn timers on weapon and equipment pads to give it some more usability outside of learning a new map’s spawns. - The new separate color for the overshield works much better than before. - Post-battle death counter is still flagging “beat your usual” for high numbers rather than low. - I really like the new map Behemoth. - The ttk on the warthog gun seems a bit too fast without overheat. I’d be okay with the kill speed if there was an occasional cooldown so that a single Warthog can’t dominate a match. - I like how much faster the Ghost is compared to previous games. - Grapple-Jacking is exactly as much fun as I expected it to be. - The new locational damage on vehicles works very well. - My one vehicle suggestion would be allowing passengers to use equipment in addition to their weapons and grenades. - The radar feels like the range is a bit too small.I would like to make a full case for passenger equipment, because I feel like it is not unreasonable. For most of Halo’s lifetime, the passenger seat has been pretty much reserved for power weapons and CTF carriers. By allowing passengers to use equipment, not only would vehicle fights be a lot more interesting, but also there would be some use in using the seat even without a power weapon. Obviously some equipment might not be able to be used effectively like the Thruster, but others like the Repulsor and Grappleshot would be extremely effective. Just some food for thought.

I saw an enemy killed during an animation (while climbing up a ledge) end up frozen in the position he was in upon death instead of going to the typical “ragdoll” state. The body instead moved to where it would have been had the animation completed, but in a sort of half-hunched over position.

So I just got my first taste of the second flight and there’s so many things I love. Although I have not been able to swap weapons. Also during animations of clambering and sometimes reloading it glitches or lags and sets me back a second or two before the animation

Not sure what was going on but tried to do training, multi with bots, and reg multi. None worked and everytime I got kicked back to xbox home screen (during open testing time). Playing on the xbone. Curious why no PC testing. Hope PC testing is integrated in the future.

Day 1 experienceI’m gonna start out with the bugs I’ve experienced.
Menu

  • customization doesnt save after equipping stuff
  • some items in the battle pass can’t be used for people that played that first flight
  • (server issue) the loading into games sometimes fail (this happened at the 8pm - 12am time)
    In game
  • menu flickers while in game
  • controller button starts on custom settings (can’t switch weapons)
  • the textures on recharge will bug out look black and reflect (still looked cool)
  • pressing melee then switch weapons will allow you to spam melee
    Done with bugs now weapons
    Weapons
  • the sidekick needs a minor damage nerf.
  • the assault rifle needs a minor damage buff
  • the battle rifle needs a damage buff
  • the gravity hammer needs a slight range buffThat’s all I got for day 1, I enjoyed playing against real players with my friends and cant wait to play tomorrow! (Lets hope the not arena isn’t easy lol)

(I know there are multiple categories for these things but it’s better to have one big post)

4 Bugs I Found-

  1. After reloading a gun it reloads itself again even though it’s full (This also killed me much)
  2. The chickens can get stuck on the walls infinitely running forever
  3. (This might be lag) At times when I hit shots on other players, they will count the shots a couple seconds later after I die
  4. In the menu, I had to restart my game because my customizations wasn’t popping up and was loading for some reason
Even after these bugs, this game is pretty good so far
    Personal Wants-
  5. Larger range for the gravity hammer (Keep the damage the same)
  6. Buff the Commando (This gun is pretty much only good with headshots)
  7. BR needs a buff ( At least make do more damage)
  8. Make the sniper have a faster reload speed (Buff)
These are just my personal opinions, but can’t wait to play tommorow and so on.
See ya on the battle field!

Couldn’t help but notice that grenades/explosions don’t seem to push players around nearly as much as in the previous games, not sure if this was a deliberate design choice or if it’s an oversight. I was trying to grenade jump and they seemed to have very little impact. Same thing with the gravity hammer. You could do some really cool stuff in the previous games using explosive/hammer boosting, would be great to see it come back in Infinite.

The people asking for weapon loadouts need to be smacked in the frigging face. Most of the suggestions are good but WEAPON LOADOUTS??? This isn’t COD Jesus Christ. Makes me sick someone would even suggest such a thing. There’s a reason everyone hated Halo 4.

Heatwave feels very weak

Sniper seems to be balanced, i just suck at using it

visual glitch with rocket where the projectile fires with no sound effect or animation

needler sounds fantastic

repulsor is incredibly fun to use and adds some really neat movement elements to Halo

all sound effects are extremely satisfying

camo and overshield are both implemented very well

Pulse Carbine feels very strange to use up close. Almost like the projectiles are moving away from the target due to the slight lock on

grenade dodgeball can get very hectic, maybe lengthen the spawn time on them?

I personally love the intro sequence and would like a way to customize our spartan intros

challenge only progression feels EXTREMELY slow at the moment

I love all the new medals in the game. Off-the-Rack is super fun.

The middle of bazaar feels barren. Most of the fighting takes place at the rocket building since there is a rocket and (potentially) shotgun in that building. Maybe try moving the shotgun spawn over toward lockers with the equipment spawn?

I mentioned in a previous post that the 18m radar is too short. I stand by this. Id like to see a 20-25m radar

A couple of my thoughts;

I think the Needler is too quiet and doesn’t sound right in Social, it needs to be quite a bit more needly, it sounded like a gun behind me, just get the sound from other Halo titles

Many times I was surprised that someone was right behind me, maybe enemy footsteps need to be a bit more pronounced? Touchy subject though

That’s all that comes to mind at the moment, all games played great, nice and smooth. Anticipating testing out larger maps, thanks for allowing me to be a part of this.

  1. Radar is useless. By the time they show up they are already shooting you. within the same room coming through a back door does nothing. need a meter or 2 more.

  2. Footsteps are basically inaudible.

  3. Horrible FPS. not sure if the engine is bad or the game is not optimized.

  4. Game is not native full screen. what is this fullscreen borderless nonsense?

  5. Hitting people around walls. netcode issues?

  6. Spawns are bad. I don’t need to explain.

  7. When resetting the game it does not save preset settings.

  8. Weapon drills are not fun. I rather play against bots but I can’t invite friends. In a literal room by myself against bots. If you want use to train your bots be transparent about it instead of removing actual content from the game. IMO

  9. Bug that happens that allows you to see through walls. push to talk crashed friends game.

Menu resets when respawning, makes it awkward to edit settings when dead.

Had a few crashes or times when the graphics were all black or invisible.

Needed to use steam to invite and party up feels odd.

Spawn seems off. Many times when I would have the whole enemy team spawn behind me

Loving the multiplayer so far. The gun balance feels really good, and I enjoy that the assault rifle starts makes more weapons viable. Also feel that the weapon switch speed to the sidekick is perfect as I found myself often swapping to it to finish off an enemy when running out of ammo, where in previous games, I’d often just wait out the reload.

The mobility feels just right as well with the speed of sprint and the climbing of edges.

I like how well you guys have done the outlines vs red vs blue. I’d heard about it before, so I knew it was coming, but still playing my first game at the end, I realized that at no point did the outlines seem overly glowy or large, but at the same time I had no difficulty at any point differentiating teammates from enemies.

Only thing I’ve found that bugs me is the little wind lines when sprinting. When I sprint and then turn at the end of it, it makes the lines go fully across the screen, often making me think it was bullets going past me, which threw me out of it for a little second a few times. I feel if those wind effects could be cut back a little that would make for less screen distraction.

Overall, really nicely done! Can’t wait to play more, and especially to see some big team maps and check out the vehicle gameplay and more classic objective and action sack style game modes!

Number 8 is for new ppl so that doesn’t matter but everything else i agree with

Feels like Crossplay is on between Console and PC, as aim assist doesnt seem that strong, yet I get shredded by other players, and they are doing wacky movement that doesnt seem possible on a controller. I cant be alone in feeling this surely?

First let me say that I am really enjoying the game from the games I have been able to play tonight. For context, I am also a relatively competitive player. i.e. Halo 5 Champ, 50s in Halo 3, etc.

A few thoughts:

Sound Balance: It is difficult to hear opponents approaching. The sound stage is busy and a lot of things are very loud. Maybe this could be tweaked with different volume adjustments, but I couldn’t hear players running around very well. This led to less situational awareness. I do appreciate how great many of the weapons sound - but hearing other things is important.

Music: I love some epic music as much as the next person, but I think things need to be toned down a bit. The end of every match sounds like a tremendous campaign climax. While I get that 343 wants things to feel epic, I don’t think this can apply for the end of literally every match – or just idling in the menu. Some restraint would make the truly epic moments stand out more.

Team Colors: I’m not sure if this will just be for social, but team colors are a real drawback right now. I don’t find it a great experience to have a teammate with bright red armor when I am on Blue (Eagle) team, or vice versa. I know 343 wants to embrace customization, but it can’t come at the detriment of player experience. Maybe have different customizations for each team, like a home/away jersey, but its red/blue and each set favors the appropriate color pallete. I could live with this in social, but absolutely not in ranked matches.

Death Identification: I found myself struggling to see where my teammates died. Much less clear than the indicators that led to the classic ‘On my X’. This also reduced situational awareness.

Radar: Seems a bit weak. Maybe needs a bit more range. I would also like to see height indication changed a bit - maybe a darken the red when they are above/below.

Overshield: Very bright. Makes it easy to spot I suppose - but I think it could be turned down a bit. They don’t really look like a spartan with a charged shield, they look like an entirely different entity.

Control: The Sidekick does seem pretty tough to control with an Xbox Controller. As stated, I am an experienced player and I was finding it very challenging to wrangle. I lowered sensitivities, but then found myself too slow to respond to enemies behind.

Menu/UI: Every respawn I felt like the score menu was lingering longer than I expected. Maybe user error from me hitting the back button or some such - but checking the score while dead and having it go away as soon as I spawned somehow felt unintuitive. Edit: This was helped by switching the associated setting. The default should be hold, not toggle - as it has always been.

Great work so far 343. I hope the communities feedback is taken seriously so that we can all have a great Halo.

Edit:

Collision and Friendly Fire: Having no player collision does not feel right at all. It fundamentally changes how you interact with your team and allows lazy, poor play from teammates. It also creates strange scenarios where players phase through one another, forcing you to switch targets mid fight and miss kills. Friendly players can also phase through you and eat your shots. Both of these conditions are poor player experiences. Similarly, players should not go unpunished for firing randomly, throwing grenades into a pile of teammates, or firing a rocket carelessly. Having to worry about friendly fire is fundamental and should not be taken away.

If we’re going to have AR + pistol starts, make the pistol stronger. Either less shots to kill or a bigger magazine. I like that it’s hard to use though. It just needs to be able to kill more than 1 person with a clip.

I’d like to increase xbox controller sensitivity- Max sensitivity is quite slow and we wont be able to compete with mouse keyboard players because they can flick and be alot more faster than controllers

Game feels great to me, I’m playing on a PC with an Xbox controller. I haven’t personally encountered any game breaking bugs. Been having fun with the gameplay. I finished all the weekly challenges. Earlier in the day my new armor pieces wouldn’t load not allowing me to equip them, this fixed itself after a reset. My biggest complaint is that there is no battle pass / level progression on completed matches. I think Halo Infinite would be addicting if it had level progression on completed matches, the burn out rate would be significantly lowered.
