Infinite Tech Preview – Social Arena

The spawns are messed up. I keep spawning and then im either spawning near an enemy or the enemy spawns by me. Not just one but multiple.

AR shoots too far and is too powerful.

When scanning an area you should let it linger longer so we can fully see whats around us. You should also include names of non power weapons when scanning that are available to pick up and let that linger a bit too.

On bazaar the chickens run away into a corner and then keep running into that corner with no collision registering. They should vanish or just keep moving away from the players

Cannot edit player tag ID but i am given a random one eventually

I literally cannot switch to my weapons. I can’t switch from my primary weapon

Same for me

If it’s your controller or keyboard depending what platform you play on you can go to in game settings and change each button to get the controls how you want them

I had no problem switching weapons on my Xbox one x

Personally not a fan of the flow of matches on these 3 maps. I get that it’s only 4v4 but the maps feel way too small for 8 players and there are a few spots (namely, Bazaar) where you can have line of sight on someone as they spawn. I feel like this is just gonna lead to coordinated teams setting up spawn traps in the future.

The highlights! The other team is just a red highlight. Like there is this red outline around the player. This ruined Aliens Fireteam Elite for me. I don’t like it in Halo either. I know you can change the color, but I just want to turn it off!! Everything feels great, looks great, but the outlines are killing it for me.

  1. Thank you for the radar. I wonder is there a way to make it a bit bigger? I know the range has to stay the same but with my screen, I could do with making it a bit bigger.

  2. The range on the assault rifle is just ridiculous It almost makes using some of the precision weapons pointless.

  3. There are constant FPS drops on the series X it goes from 120 fps down to 60 quite often I have ways to track this.

Played some games during lunch and some this evening before having to get off. Definitely plan on playing more this weekend. I had a blast! Very fun game.

  1. May be connection related but I had some Skewer shots hit enemies on the move that had no business hitting them. I also had some Skewer shots not hit enemies even though my reticle was dead on and they were walking toward me

  2. Similar to the above, except with the gravity hammer. Hammer is seriously powerful but I had some deaths where I died after I swung the hammer and heard the “boom” but my enemy took zero damage even if they were right in front of me.

  3. Needler tracking is hit or miss. It only seemed to track if the enemy was close. It felt useless at mid range because the needler needles wouldnt track and would fly off on their own.

  4. Grapple Shot on the energy room map (cant remember the name, not the training area map or bazaar map) would sometimes not connect with surfaces, esp the central pillars/pylons on the edges of the map that you use for cover.

  5. I love the sliding but feel that it can be abused by better players in the future. It feels like slide spamming in Destiny.

Overall; really enjoying the beta so far. I really love that you can map and customize your controls.

Looking to see if anyone else agrees before I submit a ticket, but is the red-reticle range shorter in Social Arena than it is in training mode?

I feel like my aim with controller on PC is pretty good in training modes, but when I’m playing matchmaking the reticle is just never red.

Can not change to my secondary weapon. Need to drop my main to get to it.

I got signed out and cant get signed back in on my PC. I got the email entered but nothing happens when I hit next.

So my feelings from 2 different approaches:
Competitive approach- The radar is useless. Make it 25m like in basically every other halo game. Movement speed is fast (which is a good thing), but people close the gap so fast that 18m is useless, especially since even the shotgun is lethal at that range.

Speaking of the bulldog, I hate it, bring back the OG shotgun please. Looks cool, but it’s not the definitive close range weapon anymore.

<3 I love the hammer. Maybe make it sound a little more like the OG hammer, but it sounds better than last flight.

I love the equipment.

Not really sure what the point of the commando is. Maybe it needs a buff? idk, doesn’t feel good. feels pointless compared to other similar options.

Sprint is exactly where it should be.

There should be a training room for the different types of grenades and equipment. I’m trying to practice using the full utility of spikes and electro grenade.

Joining an in progress game is weird. It seems like your body is in the game before you are because as I loaded in, I was already dead and I had a couple deaths on the scoreboard before I could even play.

Phasing through teammates is dumb. Let me jump on my teammates’ heads. This is also important for casual play too.

Casual approach: there is no way to play casually. Its just as sweaty as halo 5 which is really bad. Maybe this will change with big team, but big team in halo 5 was too sweaty too. Just impossible to just play a relaxing game. Not sure why it’s like this, or even how to fix it, but man I might just play the campaign and go back to mcc for multiplayer post launch. This is made even worse by the fact that we won’t have forge for 6+ months so the casual side playerbase will get strangled out because the only option is matchmaking where the default play style is just sweat all day or bot matches, but bots don’t get involved in goofy shenanigans. I’m not saying delay the game or even rush forge, but maybe find a way to make the game more… fun? I like a good sweaty match from time to time, but halo has always catered to both competitive and casual play. I’m worried this will only be for hardcore play based on what i’ve seen and played in both flights. Maybe I’m worried for nothing.

For forge/custom games post launch, I think i’m not the only one who would like to see every gun ever made for previous halo games appear as a custom option. Obviously wouldn’t work in matchmaking, but if this is a live service game, might as well benefit from it.

Honestly plz give the controller more aim assist when you play against PC players its like playing against gods. PLZ buff the pistol its a horrible gun. If you want to be good at infinite just have an AR and a Commando and you will be godly because those guns are better then using precision weapons the AR and Commando. I feel like instead of intense gameplay just run around with an assault rifle, you do more melee then actually shooting. The maps are also way too small you can sprint for like to sec and be at the other side of the map, its dumb I feel like you guys did away with competitive and made it easy for players. I find it so boring because I don’t see the point to practice to get better at aiming, because like I said its all based on the AR.

Wish I could give you my opinion on it; but since I can never get into a game without it kicking me/crashing…

Please make br starts a thing instead of ar and I hope to see a slower ttk social slayer is feeling to much like call of duty where the first bullet wins in a spray off. Br off spawn will be a more true test of skill and will be more enjoyable to play. More aim assist would be needed on console also for the fact that aiming in general doesn’t matter what sensitivity seems to feel sludgy and unco. I would also want to see a nerf to nades blast radius as it is over the top at the moment and assault rifle damage. The ar has never been a top killing weapon in halo as much as it is in this beta. And it is changing the meta for the worse making halo too much like other games.

I completely agree ar is too broken nades are also op atm. Precision guns should be the primary focus since it splits the good players to the bad. Sure they would want to attend to a new audience but atleast make it halo! Not call of duty where first bullet wins in a spray off. Og halo fans like many of us would most definitely prefer changes that make the game feel like reach or three not halo 5 and call of duty

Repeatedly pressing the swap weapon and melee button will allow players to hit you really fast. Seeing a lot of enemy players abusing this. Text chat and voice chat doesn’t seem to work at all, pressing enter to send just adds a new line.

If you have a controller plugged in and move around with WASD while aiming with the controller will allow you to use aim assist.

Not sure if this is related but I was in game, pressed tab to open the scoreboard and my game crashed.

Game play needs to be as good or better than COD or Fortnite… I have played every single Halo game but this has not evolved nearly enough:(

-Radar does not accurately display player movement specially those that are within the vicinity or closer range
-Breakable large signs in the maps do not break properly. Debris is either translucent or can be phased through at times
-These maps are not particularly ideal for engaging in some long range combat. The corridors also make it a bit difficult to maneuver or strategize your approach
