So my feelings from 2 different approaches:
Competitive approach- The radar is useless. Make it 25m like in basically every other halo game. Movement speed is fast (which is a good thing), but people close the gap so fast that 18m is useless, especially since even the shotgun is lethal at that range.
Speaking of the bulldog, I hate it, bring back the OG shotgun please. Looks cool, but it’s not the definitive close range weapon anymore.
<3 I love the hammer. Maybe make it sound a little more like the OG hammer, but it sounds better than last flight.
I love the equipment.
Not really sure what the point of the commando is. Maybe it needs a buff? idk, doesn’t feel good. feels pointless compared to other similar options.
Sprint is exactly where it should be.
There should be a training room for the different types of grenades and equipment. I’m trying to practice using the full utility of spikes and electro grenade.
Joining an in progress game is weird. It seems like your body is in the game before you are because as I loaded in, I was already dead and I had a couple deaths on the scoreboard before I could even play.
Phasing through teammates is dumb. Let me jump on my teammates’ heads. This is also important for casual play too.
Casual approach: there is no way to play casually. Its just as sweaty as halo 5 which is really bad. Maybe this will change with big team, but big team in halo 5 was too sweaty too. Just impossible to just play a relaxing game. Not sure why it’s like this, or even how to fix it, but man I might just play the campaign and go back to mcc for multiplayer post launch. This is made even worse by the fact that we won’t have forge for 6+ months so the casual side playerbase will get strangled out because the only option is matchmaking where the default play style is just sweat all day or bot matches, but bots don’t get involved in goofy shenanigans. I’m not saying delay the game or even rush forge, but maybe find a way to make the game more… fun? I like a good sweaty match from time to time, but halo has always catered to both competitive and casual play. I’m worried this will only be for hardcore play based on what i’ve seen and played in both flights. Maybe I’m worried for nothing.
For forge/custom games post launch, I think i’m not the only one who would like to see every gun ever made for previous halo games appear as a custom option. Obviously wouldn’t work in matchmaking, but if this is a live service game, might as well benefit from it.
