Glitches-
If you reload and then punch again and again, you punch fast which is a little OP
In Bazzar, the bullfrog will get stuck in it’s spawn and will eventually come back after 3 min.
Personal Wants-
A damage buff for the BR
Damage buff for Heat Wave on shields
Thanks for the time, see ya next weekend!

I guess so. Ground pound was fun while it lasted. Guess it will be a H5 thing only.
I think the entire flight was a lot of fun overall and I am really excited for BTB next weekend. I think what the 343 team has done is so impressive and feels like a natural evolution of the classic halo games. It’s not trying too hard to appeal to the older fans and not way too hard to be like all the more modern shooters the game feels like Halo again and it’s made me so happy. Especially after the past two games not really scratching that Halo itch that I’ve had for a long while. And one thing that really impressed me was the fact that I actually wanted to use more than one weapon in a game and enjoyed using all of them (Yes even the commando) I never really felt like I did bad cause I didn’t have an AR or a sidekick but because the player was just better than me. And I think that is something that needs to be praised.
But one thing that I found was quite annoying was the fact that people kept on using the BXB combo to wipe out my entire team, it sucked out the fun when all of a sudden I die from out of nowhere with no time to react, over and over again. And I did find a few glitches with the ragdoll animations of the spartans. sometimes they would clip through the floor like in halo 1 and it felt really out of place, and it was a bit weird when my gravity hammer ran out of juice and it would just not make any sound when I swung it.
But other than that, Good job on this game. I am loving it
You guys are doing awesome! Having a lot of fun! Couple pieces of feedback:
-
Ping system needs to be more apparent. Both in just letting people onow it is a thing and when pings are made. My friend said he was pinging stuff throughout the flight and I honestly never noticed it.
-
very hard to tell when you pick up equipment from a fallen spartan. I frequently die and see equipment pop off ny body that I didnt even know I had picked up.
-
Seems like there are too many vehicle counters. On Behemoth for instance you have: skewer, plasma pistol, dynamo nades, battle rifles to pepper across the map, repulsor, and grappling hook. The grappling hook in particular seems way to easy to hook onto the warthog for a free highjack.
I’m really liking the pvp! Most of the weapons are fun to use and the movement most of the time is fluid and overall really fun. There are some issues that I have though… first and the biggest one, The melee Lunge is really high and it glitches out a lot. Unintentional Or not BXB is back and it’s really op with the super lunge I really really hope this gets tweaked next flight. The second big issue and also the last is some lag and sever issues witch is expected but worth mentioning. The game lags me back to certain spots like for example, I clamber up something and it lags me back. Ghost melees, shot registration, and general performance are really common on bazaar and behemoth while the other two still have these problems but it’s less frequent. Now a few small things but note mentioning… The Assault rifle is a bit op and I feel like it needs a nerf in its range and accuracy. Grenades are like nukes mainly the frags and need a reduction in it’s radius. And finally the sniper Zoom in is really wonky and goes all over the place. Overall it’s really fun and can’t wait for btb but the issues I stated needs some tweaks in my opinion.
It’s feel really good and I enjoyed some parts just the melee bug that is very annoying
My overall feel of the gameplay is great. Movement feels solid, the feel of the guns are good, audio is fantastic in both environmental and music. Here are some of my critiques I’d like to see addressed;
Weapons
- All weapons seem to have a headshot multiplier active when shield are down. This functionally should only be allowed for precision weapons such as the sidekick, BR, Commando, etc. - The Assault Rifle is too dominate in close, mid, and even mid-long ranges. The weapon has too much accuracy and can be oppressive to people using long range weapons with scopes, as it can be too easy to de-scope them with little to no effort.Equipment
This could just be how I’ve grown over the years with games, as I’ve not played Halo 5 in years, but the grenade culture of Halo Infinite, (which I believe started in Halo 5), is very frustrating. The intended nature of grenades, mostly Frags, to be banked off surfaces and around corners is making them, for lack of a better term, spammable. In tight-quarter maps it is very frustrating see so many people spam grenades everywhere. In the fights I lose I find it’s because someone got lucky with a grenade spam. I wish to see gun fights play out as the dominate way of engaging with someone.
-
Reduce the bounce of frag grenades, as to off-set their effective range beyond initial throw - Radar is too short for a fast-paced arena-style modern shooter, (Halo 5 suffered from this as well), 18 meters gives very little information, and can only serve give false-hope about your immediate environment. This should be increased to 25 meters.Vehicles
-
The Ghost doesn’t seem to have the ability to make slight maneuvers mid-air like the mongoose and warthog do. If any vehicles are to have this ability, give it to all the medium/small sized vehicles.Audio
-
Allow us to disable the audio of the personal AI, some of the voice lines can be humorous, but some are simply cringe and unnecessary.
Quick feedback list I made over the weekend:
- BR seems a little weak relative to the Pistol/AR/Commando. Wouldn’t mind a reduction to RRR in exchange for a slightly faster kill time. - Pistol only having enough ammo to kill 1 player doesn’t feel great. I know it’s meant to be a sidearm and not really a utility weapon, but give us a 14 kill clip and it’ll feel amazing for players when they get a double with only one clip. - Bazaar doesn’t have a great flag route through the power-up side of the map. I would suggest knocking out a doorway connecting the bottom of the Plasma Pistol room and the power-up area. - With the unsc weapons, specifically the AR/Pistol/Commando/BR, audio cues don’t seem very distinctive and rate of fire is similar enough that I often had a hard time telling what weapon I was getting shot with. Never something I’ve really had a problem with in other Halo games.
Here are the notes I complied while playing through the weekend:
-BR and Commando reticle not big enough
-need to drastically increase Bullet magnetism/auto aim
-remove the recoil on sentinel beam (this weapon never had recoil in any other game and it doesn’t need one in Infinite, just reduce the damage a little)
-AR is too powerful at long range and descopes too easily
-objective sound effects in CTF and Strongholds are terrible and make the game sound like a different franchise. Change them to more of a Halo feel.
-Change the spawn countdown. It’s just copied from Halo 5 and takes you out of the immersion of Infinite, as you automatically think of H5 when hearing it.
-TTK is too high
-Drop wall seems too weak from weapons, and a square is dropped with only 1 melee
-the needler is absolutely useless unless your target is standing completely still
-grenades bounce too much and too far. Can’t plant at someone’s feet
-got shot through a freshly dropped drop wall and died instantly
-reduce spawn time in objective games to 8 seconds. 10 seconds is too long
-there doesn’t seem to be any melee lunge. You have to be right next to someone to land a hit
-you should not only earn XP from challenges
-bring back friendly fire and bumping into teammates
-my ghost got destroyed by a guy with an AR when it had full shields and no damage. Either the AR needs to be burned (which it really does) or vehicles need to be able to take more damage
-the ghost doesn’t seem to turn as well as it used too. Feels a little slow now.
I have played halo since halo 2 on the original xbox. I feel one major thing we need is a real skill rank this challenge xp thing is great for the battle pass and keep it but also give me back the 1 to 50 ranking system in addition, so i have a reason to play other than to unlock skins. I fully get the desire to make money and do a game as a service but getting locked into only having two or three ways to earn xp in a match and that is the only way to rank up is so limiting and not really fun. I have thousands of hours in halo games, love halo lore etc but this game will be hard to grind those long nights if the only option i have is to get a sniper rifle kill, or use a burst weapon and get a perfect kill it ruins game. for example this happened to me during this flight i am playing strong holds and get the most kills and captures in the game but yet i get 0 xp and nothing for holding down an entire team and helping my team win. It just feels like players get slighted because instead of running to grab a specific gun to do a specific task you are doing what needs to be done to get the win and you get nothing to show for it. I hate Call of duty games where players can be a high level just because they play alot i am not asking for that i am looking for that halo ranking system we had halo 3 or reach where it showed i was a x level meaning i was skilled enough to earn that and if you want to throw in a separate xp system for battle pass do it and ill grind those challenges to. By having both systems players will feel like playing the game is worth it rather than giving up for the day because they just cant seem to beat the challenges they have available don’t have any skips so they go some other game instead.
- Radar needs to be 25m. 18m is way too short in a game with sprinting and grappleshots. It also needs to show elevation differences for motion, let you know if motion is above, below, or on the same level as you. - Console players need better auto-aim if you plan to go through with this idea of crossplay with PC, as it stands mouse & keyboard users have a big advantage in aiming. - Was kind of disappointed by the shock rifle. It looks cool as hell, but functionally it seems like a less good sniper rifle, as it kills in the same number of body and headshots as a sniper, yet only if you can manage to keep your reticle on the enemy during the whole lightning burst, which is hard to do coupled with the poor auto-aim and being descoped by enemy fire. Would rather this thing be full auto lightning arcs or something. - The plasma carbine feels like the weakest gun in the game. The plasma projectiles move too slowly and the homing effect is too weak. I see less players using this gun than any other in the game, specifically because of how weak it is. - Drop Wall panels need to block just a bit more damage before breaking. - The slow hammer swing animation needs to be sped up some - The broken melee-weapon switch-melee combo needs to be removed - Lightning from the dynamo grenade and the shock rifle disables vehicles a bit too easily, allow vehicles to be able to take a bit more lightning damage before being disabled - A small increase in the health/shield regen delay would be nice, it feels like it takes a bit too long for it to recover, so even if you successfully make it to cover after taking damage you can be headhunted by a persistent opponent before you get your shields and health back - A slightly shorter respawn of 8 seconds on objective would be nice
I really enjoyed the core gameplay, which is great! Just a few things that popped out to me:
-
I’d like to be able to check on my challenges mid-match considering they’re the only form of XP currently in the game (although, as others mentioned, performance based XP would be greatly appreciated).
-
Sidekick needs a buff
-
Do I just not know how to counter a ghost or are those things straight-up invincible?
-
Default look sensitivity and deadzone values for controller are terrible. The deadzones are the primary problem though. A default of 12 made my inputs feel very unresponsive and choppy. I still needed the deadzones to be set to 3 because I have some drift but 12 is way too high in my opinion.
-
Allow me to customize my Spartan while searching for a match, please. It’s nice to be able to do something while waiting.
Keep up the good work y’all!
- Friendly Fire needs to be enabled across the board. Unless it’s fiesta or something explosion heavy like that, friendly fire should be enabled for all game modes. Full stop. It cultivates a culture of not engaging in grenade spam, which is widespread in the tech preview. It should NOT be limited to just ranked playlists because it dramatically changes the playstyle and doesn’t prepare players for a ranked scenario. - Lack of player collision is a real issue that needs fixed. The way it exists now is causing very strange behavior. You can be shooting at someone and then their teammate just walks through them stopping the damage you’re doing and you can’t see it coming at all. Your own teammate can walk right through you causing you to throw a grenade at their back or shoot a rocket at them with absolutely no way of seeing it coming.
IMO, those are the two issues that need adjusted before launch and really the biggest gripes I have at the moment. I am concerned about flag dragging being an issue in CTF games with vehicles as well, so I think that should be looked at soon as well.
As a whole I think arena feels great, I love the new match opening sequence where every Spartan gets to shine and how you zoom into the helmet of my character is awesome & immersive. I just have a few recommendations. Most important of them is when you pick up equipment there’s no on-screen text or verbal confirmation(only a handful of times my AI would tell me) which has me in a panic trying to figure out if I have the grappleshot or the repulsor. I think the music/sound effects(not related to weapon sounds) in arena could be better, I really can’t nail exactly what’s missing but it feels flat. Lastly why is there no end of match results? I like to see how well or in my case, how bad my team & I did. I would like to give praise to everyone at 343 for creating what I’m sure is going to be assassin of my “real” social life and can’t wait.

> assault rifle has wayy too much range. very little point in picking up the BR or commando.
Idk. I feel like the ar‘s useful. The commando does a lot of damage, but you have to know how to control it because it has recoil as f*ck. Battle rifle, well it’s the battle rifle.
I don’t have any problems with the weapons. I just hate the aiming on controller.
Anyone else struggling with Behemoth in PvP? Accidentally let the enemy team get both snipers, and it pretty much ended the match right there. It’s very easy to end the game early on if you get both power weapons and/or both vehicles. Anyone else think there’s just too much stuff?
Hmmm well let’s get down to the brass tax on this one, I believe the radar should show a larger area other than what’s up next to you and the AK-67 is still a bit too unwieldy there are some glitches that are definitely being exploited that have been mentioned by GrizzlyBair2 and I think that the BR should be able to fire a little faster between trigger pulls other than those few things I do think it was a FANTASTIC job so far and I’ve been having a great time with it.
My thoughts after the first weekend:
-
I liked how running was scaled back so walking is more viable, but I think the speed of both should be increased. I liked the slower feel but think it should still be a little faster.
-
Sometimes weapons would reload twice for no reason (mainly AR). Reduce range on AR, improve damage on pistol and also BR (at least, all main weapons felt a little weak).
-
Power weapons were amazing, even mid ones like the new shotty (name is eluding me) and commando felt good.
-
Xbox One hardware wasn’t super smooth, felt the reduced frame rate. Encouraging to see what it could be.
-
Please improve the range on motion tracker. It was practically useless unless they were right on top of you. Didn’t really help with enemies sneaking up on you either.
-
Had some trouble with grapple hook. Not sure if it was me or the game but I couldn’t get it to work all the time.
-
I love the new feel of the game and can’t wait for BTB
- Radar seems to be less useful as the Diameter seems to be around 9 meters. With how much mobility is available to players, with grappling hooks, wall climbing, and (arguably) sprint, it’s currently just too small. Even a 2 meter increase would be nice.
- Many have said this, but spawns should be adjusted. Too many times have I spawned within LOS of someone and try to fight them for a brief moment, only for their buddy to rotate into me immediately for the kill.
- Above/below markers on the radar would be nice. I believe they were present in Halo: Reach? Or one of them on MCC but i forgot which. It’d be a nice addition to know if someone is above or below me on radar.
- I don’t know if it was latency or something, but I had a moment similar to my Dark Souls experience where I got behind someone I was fighting for the assassination, meleed their back, received audio (unsure of visual since it was fast) feedback that my melee went through, and proceeded to die to an assassination/melee myself instead. No one else was around, and they got the credit for killing me so despite be hitting the side of his back, he got the melee kill on me the instant following my smack on him.
The radar is like h5 where it’s completely useless, it’s too small. By the time you see someone on the radar your already Taking shots or dead. Just make it a tad bit bigger, that way us people who go in team games have a chance.
