Infinite Tech Preview – Social Arena

  • Tiny yellow hitmarkers appear in the middle of the crosshair when friendlies deal damage? can I turn that off? - What if I could drop both weapons and go into fistfights/knifefights? - Make threatsensor work both ways (need more team neutral equipment) - No friendly player collision sucks, but friendlies do have collision with your grenades but not your body, not very intuitive - Got hijacked from warthog driver seat, super bugged, couldn’t move, rubberbanding, teleporting all over map and then died rip

The only yellow indicator in the middle of the crosshairs I’m familiar with is when you have a grappling hook picked up, it shows if you’re in range to hook something or not.

You sure it wasn’t this?

Hammer feedback:
I like that the area of effect was increased.
I don’t like that the area of effect extends behind the player. There were several times that I was behind the player swinging the hammer and I still died. This is not intuitive and seems a bit cheap. I think the area of effect should only extend in front of the player swinging the hammer.

Plasma pistol feedback:
I don’t like that it doesn’t stop vehicles anymore.
Was this intentional or is this a bug? If intentional please change it back. It doesn’t matter if there are other weapons that can do this. It is still an important function of the plasma pistol.

Radar feedback:
I greatly appreciate that the radar has returned to normal and that crouch walking is useful again. I would like it to cover a bit larger area.

I don’t know if this was meant to be this way or if it was a big, but I wasn’t able to use my secondary weapon the entire time this first weekend. I would see people in every match using theirs but the game wouldn’t let me switch to my pistol despite it being there on my HUD next to my ammo, grenade, and equipment.

I don’t know if it’s just me not having figured it out yet, but I’m having difficulty figuring out whether radar blips are below me, above me, or on the same level as me. I see sometimes the blip looks a little bigger, which I think means the same level. But in the heat of battle it’s hard to pick up at times. More than once I’ve thought someone was below me and I look down off a ledge only to get hit from behind.

This game is truly special. I wasn’t able to play the PVP of the first flight, so now having this experience really cemented this game as a return to the halo I loved. Certainly the best version since H3.

You have to go into your controller menu options and link the “switch weapon” instruction to a button/key. This happened to me too. I saw some others note it as well, and this is the fix.

I was shocked to see this as well! That needs to be fixed.

The most sweaty disgusting players I’ve ever seen, everyone in the flight was a -Yoink- head and the sidekick needs a nerf

Speed gravity hammer swing up slightly and reduce area of effect slightly.

Add vehicle EMP effect to vehicles from plasma pistol charged projectile.

Change respawn time to 4 seconds.

Change sniper reserve ammo to 8, instead of 4.

Speed up skewer reload.

Add aim assist for controller players, even if a minimal one. It’s way too unforgiving.

Add BR starts for ranked.

Nerf needler slightly.

Add at least one more power weapon to maps, sword/grav hammer on Bazaar. Rocket launcher/hydra to middle of map of Behemoth. Sniper to Recharge.

Reduce base player movement speed BARELY. It’ll make social more casual. It’s a bit too sweaty.

Turn power weapon UI timer off for ranked, noticed people camping power weapons and camo/OS as much as H5.

Commando feels a bit too hard to aim(this could be the lack of aim assist on controller)

When spectating my dead body I cannot rotate camera, this would give a classic feel to the game.

Everything else is fine.

PLEASE revert the radar to how it was during the first flight! It was perfect. There is no need to display enemies on the motion tracker at all times. This takes away some of the strategy and I feel like players are “too” relient on the radar instead of using their environment for clues.

The motion tracker should only display enemies if they’re sprinting or firing their weapon. This would allow for a lot more strategic gameplay.

Please reconsider the change, as I really think it really will be for the better.

-One innovation I’m liking is having all power weapons and equipment spawning at the same time. This evens the playing field and prevents one team from dominating all power items for an entire match by cycling through the map at known reset intervals.

  • I think the overshield indicator could use some work.

  • I don’t understand the purpose of the armor hit indicator. It’s not as if armor pieces fall off (maybe not yet?), so it just adds another layer of distracting color.

  • Speaking of distracting color, I’m still adapting to the player outlines. Hopefully there will be an option to turn it down, as I’m fine with just gamer tags above teammates head and maybe a red icon above enemy heads.

  • Plasma pistol needs to do something to vehicles. This was a huge advent back in H3 (if I remember correctly) that evens the playing field tremendously between vehicles and foot soldiers. I cant even imagine fighting tanks without this. I played a match on Behemoth where the enemy had the ghost and the warthog and it was practically impossible to fight back, particularly because there is no rocket or anything else like that which I am
    aware of on that map.

  • Drop shield needs to be stronger to actually matter on maps. BRING BACK THE BUBBLE SHIELD INSTEAD!!

Add camo and overshield to maps, doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Explain to me how “Everyone was better than me” is constructive advice or criticism for 343?

> 1. TIMERS: Eliminate weapon/equipment timers and AI heads-ups from ranked play. Talented players will do just fine using their own map awareness. I don’t mind keeping these features in during social matches.
>
> 2. STILL TOO MUCH DIALOGUE. Give us the ability to toggle off each personality (AI, announcer, chatter, Spartan commander, etc.). Additionally, let us select what types of dialogue we hear. Example: I don’t care that my AI sees headshots in my future, but I do want to know that the overshield spawned.

> 3. IN-GAME SCORE? What’s its purpose? We only gain XP through completing battle pass challenges. You might as well get rid of the screen clutter by getting rid of the points we score and even medals since they don’t contribute to XP either.
>
> 4. OPTION TO TURN OFF INTRO CAMERA PAN. Watching the cringe animations at the beginning of each match and poses at the end immediately strips these “Spartans” of all credibility that they are professional supersoldiers. Punching the air before a gunfight? The ‘I’m too cool to take this seriously’ guy?
>
> 5. MP MUSIC. I turned the music off. I love the new campaign tracks and remixes, but the Infinite MP does not feel Haloish at all. Give us a new theme to choose from with each season.

SMARTEST CRITIC IVE EVER KNOW IN MY LIFE. DUDE you’re a genius. I will say having that intriguing, curious, optimistic sounding, but still creepy halo mp soundtrack for me is HUGE. I can still remember my first time ever playing halo when I was a kid on the og xbox…when you enter that menu for the first time back then, nothing beat that music. But hey who am i…just a dude who signed up for all these extra accounts just for nobody to contact me yet at all to do a flight test for infinite. Appreciate it yall.

  1. Banished Ghost: Maneuverability is pretty great, wings even move, making them more involved in movement. Very tough armour plating, Plasma Pistol EMP resistant, I forget the mame of it, but the shock grenade does stall it so, wyite balanced. A very dangerous vehicle to be sure.

  2. Warthog: Feels very light, picks up very, very quickly & it’s very sensitive unlike the other models. Perhaps it is just vehicle sensitivity, I haven’t looked into that. Not the best model so far, but this is pre-release so, no harm no fouls, yet. It doesn’t feel like a Warthog, just a Mongoose with a back gun. That gun is very heavy hitting though, very dope.

Other than that, the vehicles are fairly well done.

Matchmaking

Social Playlists need input-based matchmaking or at least the option to force input-based matching or some form of crossplay.

No matter how much you adjust auto-aim and what not. Competing with a gamepad against someone using mouse & keyboard drains all the fun out of multiplayer. It was very apparent whenever we were matched up against m+k players in multiplayer.

I heard there’s input-based-matchmaking planned for ranked playlists. For social playlists we need the same or at least the option to opt-out of mixed lobbies. The standard should be input-based-matchmaking for all playlists, but if you want to feel the pain you can opt for matchmaking with m+k-players as well.

I believe I read somewhere that you still appear on enemy radar even when invisible. That seems to be true because I thought it happened to me where two enemies were shooting at me even though I was fully invisible. Kind of defeats the purpose if this is the case.

listing out this critiques but again I’m loving the game. These are like minor 1% grievances on a 99% enjoyable experience. Some of the things people are suggesting be changed would make it a totally different game. Those seem to be people suffering from lack of success in the game and just saying “it’s boring, it sucks, past halos are better or I’m better at them.”

I love the direction of this game.

I appreciated the toning down of the childish sounding friendly player call outs (“over yonder!”). Would love an option to bring in more grungy, realistic friendly voices. Even so, the rate of it was much better in this flight compared to last.

also, where is my all time favorite weapon the covenant carbine?!

ANNOYING KIDS LIKE THIS WHO WANT TO CAMP MAKE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD SERIOUSLY . Bro we all know your type. Did you see one other person say hey mini map indicators break the game…nope. you’re just mad because the pros took it to you in a FLIGHT TEST. That’s what happens when you try to camp everything noobie:man_shrugging:
