Pistol accuracy when shooting max speed is nuts. had games where 30 feet away spam shots were all headshots.
The shock rifle’s chain damage feels to weak and not worth it, and makes the overall gun to feel just like any other sniper rifle. The shock rifle is also quite hard to use in moving targets due to the 5 burst shots.
Also, I’d like to see if people are in groups, kinda of like how Gears 5 does it.
After a day of groping, I finally found the pattern of the problem that appeared on my console. First of all, when I end a training mode game or a multiplayer game, my console will probably freeze and shut down, and then after you restart it, you will find that other games cannot connect to the Internet. So I really hope that the development team can reply to my question. I want to know if this is a common problem or my case, because I feel that my host may have hardware damage. T
hanks.
Final Thoughts
-RADAR is way too small
-FOOTSTEP SOUNDS need to be more pronounced for enemy players
-AR feels okay but could use a slight buff
-PISTOL could use a sizeable buff at range
-BULLDOG feels great
-I didnt get to check out the MANGLER very much but what little i did use of it, i loved (despite a texture glitch while using the weapon on bazaar)
-SNIPER feels great and the sounds are my favorite in the series
-SKEWER feels like an amazing replacement for the spartan laser
-HEATWAVE is definitely the most underwhelming weapon in the game. Needs a big buff.
-BR feels ok. Could use a boost in fire rate to make it feel really good
-COMMANDO feels ok. Not sure what to do to improve it.
-PULSE CARBINE feels ok. Something about using it at close range feels… squishy?
-SENTINEL BEAM looks great, has a lot of recoil, and does a good amount of damage, but the animation/soundfx don’t FEEL like its doing a lot of damage.
-ROCKET is super slow but packs the most punch of any rocket in the series. I think it is in a really good place rn.
-PLASMA PISTOL DOES NOT EMP VEHICLES ANYMORE, but the lock-on is strong and sound great
-RAVAGER primary fire feels awesome but the charge fire needs to do more damage. I can tell it is trying to be a zoning tool but it doesnt do enough damage to make enemies want to move out of it (It takes two fully charged shots to kill) maybe up the damage of the plasma pools a bit? Otherwise feels great and fits perfectly as a brute weapon.
-NEEDLER sounds amazing now and has the shortest ttk of any needler iirc. A menace up close but not a good pick for longer ranges. I love it.
-GRAVITY HAMMER is the best in the series this time around. The shockwave makes it a rival to the energy sword’s speed and range
-GRENADES and playing grenade dodgeball can get very hectic. For example, the shotgun/heatwave room on bazaar has access to FOUR SPIKE GRENADES on <1min cooldowns… The spawn time for grenades needs to be lengthened.
-My personal favorite part of Infinite gameplay so far is the EQUIPMENT. Every. Single. Equipment pickup is implemented very well. OVERSHIELD is super strong with a big deploy time, ACTIVE CAMO is ACTUALLY VIABLE in this game. In previous titles, I felt like camo was useless unless you were hiding around a corner. Being able to move and clamber while still remaining hidden makes this ability incredibly strong. DROP WALL takes too long to deploy and is weak but blocking a rocket with a perfectly timed drop wall is so rewarding. GRAPPLESHOT feels exactly how I would expect a grapple to feel in Halo. REPULSOR is so fun to use for everything EXCEPT REPELLING GRENADES. The movement and environmental kill ability is what makes the repulsor so fun to use. THREAT DETECTOR was not in rotation during any of the games I played but using it in Training Mode shows great potential
-SOUNDFX are all punchy and satisfying except for the sentinel beam which sounds a little bland. Halo 3’s sentinel beam had such a distinct sound so maybe tinkering with an evolution of that would make it more fun to use. The sniper and BR have my favorite sounds in the game.
-MUSIC Main Menu theme is incredible
well so far I’m really enjoying it on Xbox one. disconnecting, closing the game sometimes, are the only problems
Okay, you want the sandbox to succeed? Listen to me.
Thoughts on flight
AR - Spread too tight, too effective past medium range. -Yoink- the 1 second kill time.
commando - Full auto precision weapon should not be in the game. you put this in the game for the reload animations in the original multiplayer trailer and because you want to lure COD players to this game
All explosion radii - CE+ plus explosion radius on everything. This makes everything way too easy, people want a challenge, do not think to yourself “Hmm MCC’s problem is that the game was too hard for players, lets make it easy!”
Grav Hammer - too slow to swing and kill radius is too big. the radius is -Yoinking!- massive, change it or people won’t play
Heatwave - not enough damage, needs a change
Shock grenade - once you throw it, starts walking around on it’s own, adds luck into grenade placement. DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF -Yoinking!- GOD, ADD LUCK TO GRENADE SPAM
Rocket Launcher - takes too long to pull out and damage is bugged. self explanator
Real problems
melee - Full -Yoink-, aim assist for melee and it’s too easy to trade kills or pop shields when you know you’ll lose a fight. Button combo would be fine if the lunge wasn’t commandoProPlus from MW2
Radar - The change from a cod style radar back to the traditional halo radar gives retard players too much information for free. The reason the cod style radar is good for halo’s sandbox is because there is consequences to covering ground faster (Sprint) or firing your weapon too early or in a bad position. Everyone that complained about the Radar being changed needs to realise they are idiots who want information for free.
Based;
BR - Sounds Great and seems to fit the sandbox well, BR starts would be very balanced but I don’t think we’ll get that
Bulldog - encourages 1 shot melee combo but can also be used without melee
Ravager - perfectly balanced, you are punished for missing a burst but isn’t an instant defeat in a firefight
Grappleshot - thought this ability was gonna be overpowered as -Yoink- but the limited use and need for a power weapon to be used in conjunction to be effective makes this very balanced
Replusor - good sandbox tool, won’t see much use outside of casual play but is a cool concept.
Listen to this -Yoink- or the game will fail.

I wanted to talk about the AR the range on this weapon seems to be a bit much it needs toning down its beating Brs at range I am noticing which is just crazy The AR is spray and pray and is way more forgiving. The Br should be beating this weapon at range. The starting weapons should be short-range this will encourage plenty of movement too.
-
The aim assist for the controller I know I’ve mentioned this but if this game releases in this way there better be an option to turn off crossplay and have input-based matchmaking It needs to be fair for both sides both keyboard and controller players.
-
The radar is almost ineffective the range of 18m is just too short it needs to be 25m at least.
-
I play on series X and want to play at 120 fps but it can’t seem to maintain this at any resolution. And what are performance and quality? Can you not just give us 60hz and 120 hz options this is how it should be. Please fix these for launch
Spawn in an ongoing game, was still at the loading screen but the game was going on. Came into the game with 3 deaths already.
Button combos for melee are really game breaking. I have been routinely getting killed ang getting kills myself using the melee-reload-melee (or BXB/BYB) combo. This has to get patched before the next flight and before release for sure.
Gonna dump all my impressions in one quick thing, it’s mostly improved from the first Technical Preview.
-
Weapon balance still needs a bit of tweaking; nice to see the AR dialed down from last time, but it still seems a bit less spray-y than it should. As others have also mentioned, the Sidekick is weird right now. Needs a little more accuracy loss at more rapid firing rates. AR also retains its accuracy a bit farther than it might need to.
-
The new electric stuff is interesting, like how it changes things up a bit.
-
Having different buttons for boarding and disembarking now is weird, and if there was a setting to adjust those on controller, I must have overlooked it. Would like to have them on the same button.
-
Mid-match leaderboard is still toggle instead of hold, and it might be nice to at least have the option to swap between the two like one already can with crouch and sprint.
-
Lack of teammate collision is bizarre, I honestly thought I was just glitching through people all weekend. Please reinstate that.
-
I didn’t run into the melee glitch as much as expected, but I imagine it’s already on the docket to fix that. Though it might make for a hilarious Fist Of The North Star mode if you can find a way to make it its own option/playlist…
-
Does charged plasma pistol no longer stun vehicles? Even though it’s mentioned in one of the between-match tips as not affecting the turret of a vehicle that gets hit with it? Sounds like that might be a bug.
All in all I had a decent time, though. And I really appreciate that it still runs pretty well, if not as, well, pretty on Xbox One.

Its already been patched it’s just not ready for this flight.
I was part of the first flight. I loved how the game felt. It was smooth like butter. But now it feels so stressful. It feels more like Halo 5. The sprinting, turning, aiming, and melee seem to be bumped up in a way that makes the combat feel very sweaty. Almost like now it’s geared for competitive rather than inclusive for casual and competitive gameplay. I’m constantly having issues with my melee not hitting. It’s like my person doesn’t always lunge. I also find myself, teammates, and opponents phasing through each other in melee combat. I love melee so this sudden change is very obvious to me and to other melee lovers. Another problem I’m seeing is Xbox/controller players are turning horizontally much slower than pc players. Even with the sensitivities maxed out it’s still so slow and makes it hard to properly respond to fire and aim. This is also aiding in melee being more difficult if you’re on controller against a PC player. They can turn so much faster that you don’t have a chance in close range. I didn’t have any issues like this in the first flight. But these issues are so prevalent that it’s impossible that I would have missed them the first time around. It suddenly feels like Halo 5’s extra fast but clunky gameplay. The first flight felt so smooth and fun. Really hope this all gets corrected! Beautiful game so far.
A few scattered thoughts after this weekend:
Overall I really like Halo Infinite and how it’s taken the series back to more traditional style. After the first flight, I and many others were on cloud 9! Then we realized oh wait, these are just bots.
Playing against real people… Oh dear lord it’s a toughie. I guess there’s nothing but MLG pros playing this game… except when they’re on your team. The pistol is just a little too powerful and AR a little under. I should not loose to a pistol with a br.
Seems like from reading this thread, many are on mouse and keyboard and that’s great that exists now but can we please have input based matchmaking like MCC? This is brutal!
Radar while I’m glad is back to old school style detection, needs expanded radius like Halo 3. People sneak up and disappear in the blink of an eye.
The double melee people are pulling off is ridiculous. There’s no point in weapons at some point. It’s a combination of running and the ability to melee so fast.
Playing against real people was a rude awakening that this game is gonna have a big learning curve especially with those precision based weapons. Also, it doesn’t help that everyone playing are Halo fans who have been playing for years and know how to own you from Halo 1 to 5. This flight is giving me Halo5 vibes with the pistol and movement and not in a good way. Keep this game rooted in the glory days of Halo, 2 and 3 and Reach where a pistol wasn’t important.
Also, I know this is a beta and the whole point is to cram the servers and we’re essentially playing an old build. I just wanna love this game so much and this one turned me off a bit.

Hit detection is sh*t in this game
The game is very fun and what I was hoping from infinite. I dont get really why people have any issue with the AR being stronger then its counterparts in the past. The pistol is good tho from a range twnds to get hard to control. The biggest thing is we should not have crossplay unless players willingly turn the option on. I have the newest xbox series x and it cant conpete with the POV and timing of PC players. Makes the game another call of duty warzone which I know everyone who is getting this wants a break from. The melee is broken for PC players which allows them to spam like crazy. As well as have no recoil when shooting which can greatly defermine the outcome of a firefight. Its fun but I find myself raging and sweating at a game that never caused me to feel like this before. Its all because of crossplay hopefully it is an option and not mandatory for multi.
- Behemoth is too small for all the vehicles it has. Either have a Warthog or a Ghost but not both. Also needs one power weapon spawning on the other side of whichever vehicle is chosen.
- I’m having an occasional bug where while reloading if I walk over and pick up grenades it will restart the reload animation.
- Too many times have I spawned near enemies or had an enemy spawn near me and my teammates.
- I know 343 likes this, but make the AR not do headshot damage

> Right now the mouse scroll wheel can result in quickly swapping your next weapon and go back to the first one. Please add a little delay so you don’t mistakenly swap weapons as it is hard to scroll ‘at one step’ up or down. With a little added delay, you won’t accidentally swap weapons multiple times using the mouse wheel.
This. I was just thinking this. When things get heated, I find myself switching too far and ending up right at my empty weapon.

The melee not registering and the fast melee are a known issue, and have been patched (but not for the flight)
And my friend had the same complaints when it came to turning speed (she plays on series x), so it’s not just you that feels like that.
I really like this flight! However, I have a few problems I would like to address. The first major one is sbmm. I really hope it’s utilized well and that the game does not think just because I won one match that I want to play against good players. Let the players who try hard play together and keep them out of my social matches as much as you can, please.
The pulse carbine is useless. I have given it the benefit of the doubt and have tried multiple combat scenarios (sneak attack, mid range, close-range etc) and it does not work well. It needs a major buff or else it will just become the new storm rifle, a weapon no one uses.
I think the shock rifle should be more communicative of what it is and get a little more of a buff with reduced ammo. I haven’t used the gun much so my thoughts may change next weekend.
I think bots in a multiplayer match should all be the same difficulty. Even one marine or recruit level bot makes the match way way too easy. Bot arena is boring because it’s way too easy to win.
Needler should be buffed to where it was last flight. Last flight, it was actually useful. Now? It’s like random chance.
Grenades need to be nerfed. Less bounce, smaller explosion
Dynamo grenades need a pickup sound so i know I picked them up. If there is a sound effect, the volume needs to be turned up.
Aiming with a controller sucks. Sidearm, sniper and skewer require more luck than skill to aim in my experience.
Having to select play after a match is annoying. Let me just sit and get into a next match.
These are the problems I have experienced during weekend one of this flight. I have really enjoyed this weekend playing the game. When this game does it right, it’s really really fun. Can’t wait for next weekend, 343 Industries! Thanks for the fun!
I love this game but it has a few problems that im not ok with 1 The Drop wall is useless. 2 the sidekick needs a nerf in fire rate because players still think this is halo 5 when its not. the assault rifle needs a little accuracy buff
