When the game is working it feels fantastic!
However I am experiencing a lot of latency and/or lag
This could just be a UK server issue but quite often I find all my inputs are delayed, so far the biggest issue aside from performance
I expected the game not to run particularly well on my system as I know the flight is not that well optimized but on an i5/1660ti I expected a little better performance, though this is at 1440p and the resolution scaling helps a lot.
However a few games in I start to get a lot of freezes in high intensity gunfights(2 or more opponents) and my game literally stops for a second. However cannot tell if this is latency/lag or performance related.
Also on a specific note, the plasma pistol charge doesn’t seem to sync correctly to the audio/visual fully charge state, often I find myself charging the pistol only for it to not overcharge shot. This though, could also be a result of latency/lag. Similar problem with the ravager.

I have been experiencing this for about an hour now and I have restarted both my console and game multiple times. It did the same thing to me last night and so I just got off because I did not feel like playing more training. Everything else has worked for me in the game except for the online social part.
Update I found out that there are certain times that Social arena servers are up.
En el xbox series S el juego está muy fluido solo he notado algunos detalles
- Error constante al buscar partida - No cambia de armas (se tiene que cambiar de configuración del control) - Pantalla negra - Erro Emblemas
After watching multiple streams, I’ve noticed a certain precision weapon location is skipped or looked passed due to the location of said weapon location on the map Live Fire.
Feedback for Live Fire weapon placement:
This current precision weapon location is, in my opinion, favored towards the users who are going from “House” through “House Elbow” to “Yard”.
-
Here is the angle of the weapon location when walking from “House” through “House Elbow” to “Yard”.

-
Here is the angle of the weapon location when walking from “Yard” to “House Elbow” into “House” at a more or less angle from the “Green Bend” area.

-
Here is the angle of the weapon location when walking from “Yard” to “House Elbow”.

-
I recommend moving it Move this precision weapon placement to the yellow door.

Thanks!
I’m not sure how exactly this would be fixed, but if I have a challenge to get kills with a specific weapon (IE: The Bulldog) and that weapon doesn’t spawn in the weapon cases, I’m basically just kind of screwed by the RNG. Like I said, I don’t know how to fix this per say, but it is very irritating.
On pc im stuck on the multyplayer button when i click it, it will give the UNSC loading sign but wont go past there i can still navigate the menus and play wepon drills/training mode but multiplayer wont load
in training mode the bots will get stuck within eachother at spawn spots it seems like it only happens when they spawn at the same time
In my opinion the basis of the game is very much more than expected given to the time that has passed since Halo Reach (for me p best in the franchise and in multiplayer I spent infinite days playing) after 6 years of absence, but has some serious problems, such as the movement is slow and the slide half ingrown, the explosion effects of the grenades has to be more real derived from the very high graphic quality I hope, there are rather some laggs but this is normal, already play with the bots and very disappointing because they seem retarded, until the weaker furreners of halo 5 are more deadly. I hope this HALO INFITE will leave me glued to the screen as once, otherwise it will be a ceder for the franchise and the XBOX mainly, I hope this new game goes to be better as Halo REACh.
I thought the fact you could track the flag was a bit mad, also the fact you can sprint with it.
Is this normal in H5?
My feedback since the tickets filed with feedback got auto-closed on Insider page:
-
Radar range seems to be very small and this leads into fights turning into “who saw who first” since many guns have a short TTK. One of the reasons I really love Halo is because of the Radar allowing careful players to outplay and do reversals. In a game where we have quite a few advanced movement techniques (various slides, grappling), this radar seems to be too small. It feels smaller than the Radar in older Halo titles as well.
-
Player collision needs to be implemented. Player collision not being there is messing up melees since sometimes I walk through players if I don’t time the melee correctly. In my opinion, the final game must have this to be fun.
-
Grapple distance indicator is not noticeable enough. Both the visual and auditory cue need to be louder. - Weapon that killed a player should not be shown as part of the live score on bottom left. This takes away from the mystery of the gameplay. If I missed a power weapon, which enemy took it? Did my team take it or did the enemy? It also doesn’t feel like Halo IMO. - Melee registration needs better auditory cue for connection. With no collision, melee is a nightmare in this flight. - Join in progress sometimes adds me to a match too late, example is strongholds match which was almost three quarters over by the time I joined. IMO, we should add bots of Marine/ODST difficulty once there is a large score gap or it’s more than 50% over. Joining an unbalanced, almost over match before the game ends is not fun. - Desperately need the ability to mute players. Had a couple of really irritating experiences with music and TV shows blaring in the background in this flight. - Might be good to give a better better warnings when clip is near empty, maybe darker colors or flashing. - Gravity hammer’s range seems inconsistent. Sometimes it’ll kill players far away, at other times it will not kill players I’m very close to. - Plasma pistol and Pulse carbine homing need improvements to make them viable IMO. - Ravager doesn’t seem to have an auto-cooldown, you have to reload it. That seems odd behavior. - Drop wall seems much weaker when compared to the other pieces of equipment.Have filed tickets for the bugs which are open so not discussing them here. Things I loved about this flight:
-
Overtime in CTF is a great idea - Revealed while moving the flag is good - Strongholds capture time and layout seems good on all three maps - Repulsor is the most fun I’ve had in a long time in Halo. Throwing people off the map in Recharge is so awesome. - Guns feel good - Likewise grapple is great as well

I’m just curious is anyone having an issue where multiplayer isn’t loading? I get everything else but when I click on “multiplayer” it will just show a loading screen.
Few more things:
- I feel there’s strong bullet magnetism around corners. I get shot many times after turning a corner. It might be lag as well.
- Everyone knows about the performance issues

Matchmaking (PvP) is closed at the moment. It will re-open at 5pm PST (8pm EST).
I’ve played a little against bots in the academy tab, when I paused to tweak settings or what-have-you the screen seems to flicker a lot and I can’t switch weapons with Y at all, if I want to switch to my secondary I need to toss the gun I’m holding altogether. Kind of a weird one.

> Also, bring back the first flights radar! The crouch hiding/walking is super annoying.
It really is. I think they should have tried adjusting it before completely abandoning it. One 2hour pvp window with a change no one was warned about was not a real test! Of course it came as a shock to players! The change and its reasonings should have been communicated beforehand, but it has real gameplay benefits! Less camping, less red dot hunting, less pre-nading, more free movement around the map, eyes more frequently on the environment instead of spending 75% of the game locked onto the corner of the screen. Internal playtesters have to be noticing now with the full motion how much more often their eyes need to be locked on that blue circle instead of the actual game. How does that make the game more fun?
Full motion tracker actually makes the game more sweaty because it’s so punishing and doesn’t allow players any breathing room for movement or approach tactics. It reduces the dance down to constantly watching red dots and instantly honing in on them with little consideration. Dot chasers will absolutely hunt casual players who will get slaughtered before they’ve even seen an enemy in front of them. The first flight’s combat sensor was added by 343 for legitimate reasons addressing game balance and movement. A lot of the complaints you’re now seeing regarding this flight are situations exacerbated by the radar change.
Folks at 343 please consider tweaking the 1st flight combat sensor rather than totally abandoning it. Nobody, nobody likes having to crouch walk to stay off radar. It’s no fun to throw nades at dots instead of players. And it’s hard for casuals to move around the map when multiple enemies descend upon them the moment they take a step.
**Maybe expand its range, give it elevation cues, add jumping to pinged actions, but retain the aspect of standard quiet walking remaining off the tracker! Give players a chance to move & breath! Don’t make camping the most viable tactic out of necessity!**CTF is worse with full motion tracker. Enemy teams just gain a lead then hide behind the pillars camping their base waiting for red dots. It sucks, Bazaar especially has suffered a lot as a result of the change. First flight’s combat sensor would help immensely. Defenders would have to actually watch the area rather than hiding in an unseen corner waiting for red dots. Attackers would actually have an opportunity to outsmart defenders with their movement tactics. But with full motion, it’s reduced to ramming your head against a brick wall until you get lucky. They always know you’re coming and exactly where you’re coming from, even while they hide with their noses facing a corner, and the entire interaction between the two players is now diminished.
Slayer is more frustrating too. Every step you take has 2-3 enemies descending upon you, starting to fire or nading from around the corner before you’re even in their line of sight. You spend 75% of the match watching one UI corner of your screen instead of watching the actual game.
How is that at all social/casual friendly? It just punishes players for ever moving, promotes camping as the most viable option, and makes gameplay less fun by focusing your attention entirely on red dots instead of the environment. Plus it makes walking totally pointless, might as well make the game perma-sprint. At least with the combat sensor there was a tradeoff, a decision for the player to make regarding when to use sprint. Another aspect of balance diminished by the full motion tracker, sprint is now basically mandatory because the drawbacks were removed.
The entire balance of the game has changed as a result of the switch to full motion tracker, and you can see players feeling it in this thread even if they’re not conscious of the cause.
unfortunately the maps suck. theres just no rhyme or reason to them and there an absurd amount of unused space on them, especially the CoD map. that is such a poorly designed map that i have no idea how it made it out of the initial sketch phase
Can team outline be changed to None?

> 1. TIMERS: Eliminate weapon/equipment timers and AI heads-ups from ranked play. Talented players will do just fine using their own map awareness. I don’t mind keeping these features in during social matches.
>
> 2. STILL TOO MUCH DIALOGUE. Give us the ability to toggle off each personality (AI, announcer, chatter, Spartan commander, etc.). Additionally, let us select what types of dialogue we hear. Example: I don’t care that my AI sees headshots in my future, but I do want to know that the overshield spawned.
>
> 3. IN-GAME SCORE? What’s its purpose? We only gain XP through completing battle pass challenges. You might as well get rid of the screen clutter by getting rid of the points we score and even medals since they don’t contribute to XP either.
>
> 4. OPTION TO TURN OFF INTRO CAMERA PAN. Watching the cringe animations at the beginning of each match and poses at the end immediately strips these “Spartans” of all credibility that they are professional supersoldiers. Punching the air before a gunfight? The I’m too cool to take this seriously guy?
>
> 5. I turned the music off. I love the new campaign tracks and remixes, but the Infinite MP does not feel Haloish at all. Give us a new theme to choose from with each season.
Oh, You’re serious, I’ve been laughing for 5 minutes straight.
-
Radar: Does not indicate wether or not they are above or below, only get faded or shine bright, versus turning into up or down arrowa. It is just a slight setback, but I cannot complain. I love the very, very little detail of knowing which way is North now. That little arrow will help Me in BTB anyway.
-
That Hammer tho!! I love how You implemented the weight of it being top heavy & You can’t just continuously slam, You “feel” the weight of the hammer. DO NOT CHANGE THAT. IT’S BEAUTIFUL.
-
I enjoy the button customization on controller for sure, very good. I also appreciate that gesture of turning off Your HUD, very good for a “going dark” vibe.
-
S7 Sniper Rifle: I love how You have to literally time Your shot, more so. Kinda sad I can’t hold in My zoom key with a sniper, or anything involving a scope & it descopes, without having to double click or swap My weapon. (Hold to zoom is not preffered with dual magnification weapons). Audio: When firing AR at least, 2 shots sound like 3, 1 shot sounds like 2, 3 sounds like 4. Off putting.
-
Do not descope (with certain weapons apparently), just like Halo 4, not a deal breaker honestly. I do miss 4’s FAR SUPERIOR MOTION TRACKER.
-
That run & gun, run & grenade & run & reload is just, chefs kiss. Mad balanced. 343i, I applaud You, I just. Bro. Swear, game of the century. Boosters, don’t matter, hovering don’t matter just…You can have My money bro.
-
Plasma grenades leave behind residue.
-
M41 SPNKR: Enjoy the SPNKR tubes drop to ground after reloading, very, very fresh.
-
Ravager: sucks major booty, not My type of weapon personally, I even compensated for the arc, nothing. I won’t he using it honestly.
-
Shock Rifle: Not My particular weapon of choice. Sometimes I’ll see traces of electricity connecting to other Spartans, yet no collateral damage. Kinda gives false hope on that. Would be interesting to see a charge function, like the Ravager.
-
Commando: Interesting weapon indeed. Heavy hitting, slower fire rate means compensating for Spartan movements, not My favourite, but I will be using it from time to time. I am just a sucker for the MA40.
-
Pulse Carbine: I mean, We have the Needler, why not just give Us back Our original Carbine? You know? I will say I slightly enjoy it, but I don’t see Myself using it or rushing to it.
-
BR75: Bruh.
-
MK50 SIDEKICK: C: <3 <3 <3
-
CQS48 BULLDOG: Interestingly enough, You can have Your reticle on Your target, but the pellets will spread & miss accordingly. Even at close range. Very cool, very nice little detail. At 10 meters, roughly 5-6 (7-8 if You are trash like Me) shots to take down a spartan. That is more than fair, even with the spread of pellets.
-
SKEWER: Basically the S7, slower reload time of course, but fair. I honestly haven’t used the timer to, well, time it, but honestly it’s more than fair.
-
Plasma Pistol: I mean, it’s the PP, I do enjoy the fact that You can quick vent it. Very nice touch.
-
Needler: Tracking is nice, a bit more accurate, whilst keeping Your reticle on target or close enough. Go to far, naturally, there will be nothing to track.
-
MA40 AR: Bruh, My second favourite AR. That is all.
-
HEATWAVE: That dang 'ol Heatwave man, I dunno. Even in PvP, I got cheated out of shots. I assume You use that little security camera in the “live fire” range, to keep tabs, as well as use the bots. It’s another one of My least favourite weapons.
-
A.I. Dialogue & friendly Spartan dialogue & different voices are fresh.
-
18 meter radar range is cool, IT USED TO BE 15 METERS. It’s balanced between the 15 & 25 meter motion trackers of the past.
-
Announcer stating what medals You get is dope.
-
Some of these “experienced players” need to get off their female toys.
-
These people saying obscure things, that really make no sense, need to go back to playing Call of Duty & enjoy their copy & paste.
-
The movement feels like Halo 3 sluggish movement, with Halo: Reach speed. Dare I say it? Yes, I dare, these gripes I’m reading, are just plain ignorant & quite funny. I mean, 98% of these are pure comedy.
My statements still stand as such:
Honestly, I’m quite impressed. You crazy -Yoinks!- may have just done something. Thank You for the invite, thank You for clearly putting some passion & love into the project, thank You for making ‘Halo’, I mean…
“Woah” - Pelican Pilot, Halo 2, R.I.P.
After kicking the bots -Yoinks!- on Spartan difficulty, but still being evenly matched, it has come to My attention that I was correct. We really aren’t ready to make that list of just numbers in the Sgt. Major Avery Johnson Academy. I don’t see the bots jumping around like tools. I see them sticking together & communicating, like a select few people do, not telling someone to “shut the -Yoink- up”, just because they can’t stand to be a good teammate. Honestly, that qualifications list, is gonna be hella small. My review of ‘Halo Infinite’, is done. The campaign could be doody, for all I care, the only thing that matters is, I see no Spartans. Only the difficulty below Marine. If there isn’t one, congrats, You’re all it. Trimordious, waiting for next play time.

> Can you please change the radar back to sprint and shooting only. I don’t want to have to crouch walk in order to stay off radar, especially with camo it doesn’t make sense with how fast paced the game is. My friends and I all agree that it is better than an always on radar.
>
> Or at least make camo take you off radar when walking.
>
> Also, please remove the double melee button glitch. (bxb)
You say “walking” while using active camo, yet You can’t walk regularly & still stay off radar? Weird. I can WALK & not show up at all. Get good.
