- Going into join-in-progress games, certain audio is deafen or reduced except spartan sounds. - After playing a match, a fireteam member isn’t able to play with the rest of the fireteam when the next game loads. - Needler needs to be nerf. The bullet travel is significantly fast. - When playing on higher sensitivities, they aren’t as fast they should be. - Loading in to the game for introduction of Spartans, a spartan will be on the flow. Sometimes you also load into introductions late. - The mute voice chat option does not work going into another game. - When a spartan is killed by camo, the dead body turns into camo. - Push-To-Talk does not work at all. - Plasma Pistol needs better tracking. Players should be punished for being in open spaces. - The “hold” for Mulltiplayer Scoreboard Control keeps switching back to “tap.”
A few observations running a 2080 with 32GB ram.
- Menus and gameplay were blurry. Regardless of the settings under video changing the preset from low to ultra made no difference; - Adjustments to video quality preset did not improve or worsen FPS - Maintained 70-80 FPS - Settings would always reset in particular FOV
Loved the preview and was able to get a bit done while I tried it out, but towards the end I was encountering a few issues.
-
View Scoreboard key bind wouldn’t stay saved, and when I would rebind it the game would crash. - even though I had the game running full screen, it continually acted like it was running border less windowed. So in firefights i would sometimes click into my second monitor and be left unable to shoot. - Joining in progress matches had missing audio - Adjusting the FOV slider would often reset back to default after matches - rare occurrences would wipe any custom keybindingsAs for general feedback about other game things
-
the UI feels a bit easy to get lost in, i feel like hitting the esc key enough times should bring me back to the MAIN menu, not just the top of the sub menu I was in - There should be a way to use xp boosts and other consumables from any menu in the game, having to go into the battle pass screen was a burden - XP boosts in use should be displayed on menus as well. - Please give a more detail descriptions as to what armor cores are - is there a way to mute the custom AIs?
So when I was testing the flight I got really bad performance out of my rig which is an rx 6900 xt and a ryzen 5 5600x.
By playing on 1440p on ultra I got about 35-45 fps, turning down the settings to low didn’t seem to do much. Only decreasing the resolution to 1080p gave me a extra 10 fps. Which means having 45 to 55 fps on average with the best amd graphics card out there. A graphics card that has almost double the tflops than a series x console. The series x on the other hand seemed to have no problems reaching 120 fps. It was quite sad for pc players to have so many stutters and framedrops. I hope the next flight is being optimized for pc so we pc player can test the game properly and actually enjoy it while the flight.
PC Feedback
- My GPU was never over 40% usage (averaged 20%) during the flight. Conversely, my CPU was never under 40% (averaged 70%). The under utilization of the GPU caused a variety of performance issues, most notably unstable framerates. For reference I’m running an Intel & NVIDIA setup with up-to-date driver versions. - Audio became “muffled” when joining an in-progress match. - Keybindings occasionally reset after closing the game or crashing. - Video and UI options, like FOV and viewmodel weapon placement, would reset to the default each time the game was stopped and launched again. - Playing on a wired connection, I experienced latency (high interpolation?) occasionally during Bot matches and frequently during the PvP matches which made it difficult for the game server to accurately place me in the game space. I was consistently being shot from around corners due to enemies still seeing my position as what it was a few moments before compared to what my game client was currently showing me. The game would occasionally try to correct this by shunting my player to a different, incorrect position on the map at times. For example I’d be sprinting forward but the game server would adjust me back and to my left by a few seconds of travel time. I was also occasionally put on the opposite side of map collision (e.g. placement adjusted to be on the other side of a wall or under a bridge).
Sometimes in my pc when I use nvidia geforce experience or xbox gamebar application the game crashed, the worst thing is that I needed to reset my pc to the latest restsuration point.
Because the game crashed.
- Ryzen 3500x
- rtx 3060
- 16GB ram 3200mhz (X2)
- b550 asus tuf
- The game was installed in nvme m.2 xpg
Specs are RTX 3070, Ryzen 3900x at 3.9GHz, 32Gb 3600 mhz ram on a 8TB HDD.
- The shimmering of close objects and far trees on the main menu - Obvious low performance as stated by everyone else (45-60 FPS on medium settings at 1440P) Biggest issue is 50% GPU usage and around 30-40% CPU usage - End screen showcase sometimes is replaced by a black screen but no issues with start screen showcase - Rebinding my melee keys worked but rebinding the PUSH TO TALK key to any key or mouse button causes the game to instantly crash, tried 3 times with consecutive crashes - The game had inconsistencies with the battle pass, sometimes it would show me my progress but around half the time, it thought i didn’t have the pass and urged me to buy it despite having it, fixed by backing to the main menu and trying again. - FOV always resets to 70 upon startup but all other graphical options remain the sameOther minor bugs that can be looked over is the sometimes long loading screen when previewing vehicles/weapons and the somewhat janky camera movement when sprinting in-game as this is a bit nauseating at some points
Overall the gameplay is nice to play with smooth animations and fun matches against the bots, but I hope that the performance of the game is certainly improved before launch. But nonetheless, good luck fixing these bugs and I’m excited for the full release!
One of the most repetitive issues was that the audio of the wepons or my spartan didnt sound, it felt Like I had something in my headsets. I need to quit the game and open it one more time to repair that.
An other problem was when I was in the menu. If I navigate so fast in it, many times it crashed, I wasnt be able to return to the principal Page.
Finally the graphics, even in rtx 3060 my graphic card never have more than 50% of usage.
So I hope that the optimization be better in the next fly
Gripes: Gravity hammer doesn’t have an actual melee. It uses the same animation, but without the gravity effect, resulting in a really slow melee. Weapons and gear need to be stagnant on maps. Gunning for a spot on a specific map only to not get the weapon you wanted is a huge letdown and is confusing when considering previous titles. AI are annoying I’d like a Steitzer version if I can’t mute them in general. The menu is pretty buggy and the customization menu isn’t as accessible as previous games. You have to back out of your search, which often bugged out, then select customize. Bot colors are all the same and it’s often the hard to tell if someone has no shields. Battle Pass progression isn’t obvious to most players. it took me quite awhile to determine what actually progressed it. I wish the maps were less focused on the center. Bazaar only featured people in the middle for 90% of my game-time. Recharge, again, only had that huge open area and the hammer as highly populated areas. As far as I could tell, you couldn’t change your spartan voice, or at least it wasn’t clear as to how. I don’t like the current motion sensor. Most of the time you can’t tell when people are nearby, because it’s only set off while they’re sprinting. Crouch movement is effectively made useless.
i enjoyed the flight a lot. There are just a ton of issues I wanted to give feedback on. I’m liking most everything so far and I hope 343 continues to do good on Halo Infinite and the future of the franchise.
Build was fun and buggy!
Had a few moments where matchmaking stopped working, Sent back into the lobby. Visual glitches with Armour Coating selectors and Weapon skins. Clipping with Vehicles in the Armory.
Performance
Overall got 55-60fps at 2550x1600. Ultra and Low settings. Vsync enabled smoothed the experience considerably but didn’t like the fact that the Minimum FPS setting (Dynamic Resolution) was the controlling FPS Limiter rather than Max FPS. Performance was variable whenever Minimum FPS was set for lower or higher. CPU was at average 70% with GPU at 60%.
Gameplay
Audio will become muted with character Voices being much louder than gameplay. Overall gameplay was fine. The Core elements worked. Character animations during Spectating or respawn were skipping frames. The overall feel was not smooth as over 100hz was not attainable even with lowest presets.

Thanks for the opportunity to help test this experience!
-Noticed some audio bugs as well, sounds were a bit muffled. Possibly related when joining already started match.
-Crashes when trying to bind ‘push to talk’ or ‘show scoreboard’ keybind.
-With ‘hold for sprint’ you have to hold sprint while crouching to slide. Most games if you switch from sprint to crouch you slide without having to hold both keys down.
-Poor performance, even on low settings I couldn’t get decent stable fps’s. Jumping from 60 to 120, which is still bad for this hardware. Having Ultra settings gave almost same fps, only slightly lower at times.

Overall the controls for PC felt really good. The main thing that bothered me though was swapping weapons with the mouse wheel. There doesn’t appear to be any delay for when another wheel scroll can be registered, so often I would go to switch weapons, accidentally scroll two notches, and end up with the same weapon that I was trying to swap away from.
Thoughts and Feedback:
-
I am a fan of sprint being only slightly faster than normal movement. It feels balanced and it didn’t feel like I had to sprint to get anywhere, but was useful if I was rushing an enemy or weapon spawn. - It takes some getting used to, but I think I support the radar changes. It’s a nice blend of casual and competitive. I actually had to be aware of my surroundings. Due to this, however, the footstep audio needs to be a little better and the damage indicator needs improving. There were a few times when I couldn’t tell where I was getting shot from. - I also agree with others that aiming felt a little off. Don’t know if you were trying to tone down aim assist on controller, but tracking was a harder than past Halo titles. Mouse and Keyboard also felt a little off. I mostly play Halo 3 and it seemed different from that. - UI needs an overhaul. It always felt like there was one too many sub-menus or one too many clicks. For example, left-clicking on individual armor color took you to another menu with just that color and some lore, then you had to click again to apply said color. I know there was dedicated buttons to apply things, but those felt clunky to use on the keyboard. Have the lore show up on when hovering over the color and click to apply. There was also way too much horizontal movement. Why was everything on one horizontal line? Please don’t make me scroll all the way to the right just to find one thing. A grid system would be much better. Also having a dedicated customization menu button like the settings one would be nice. That way we don’t have to back all the way out of the matchmaking menu just to customize our Spartan while waiting for a game. - It might be nice to have an option for type of highlighting used on Spartans. Maybe an option to select between just an outline, shaded, or both. Or you could take it one step further and have a toggle for original Red vs Blue skins rather than highlighting. I liked all the color options though and thought the overall execution of the shading was good. - AR sometimes felt a little too strong at mid-long range. - Bulldog felt too weak. Usually took 3 shots at short range, but maybe I was just bad with it. If, however, you guys still plan to keep the OG shotgun in the game, then I think the Bulldog has it’s place. A faster rate of fire with less damage vs slower rate of fire and higher damage. If the Bulldog is replacing the shotgun, then I think it needs a slight buff to damage. - I felt that the scroll wheel sensitivity was too high. Might help if there was an ‘auto-switch when out of ammo’ option like in Apex Legends or a larger delay between reading the scroll wheel input so that accidentally scrolling 2 clicks doesn’t take you back to the original weapon. - Also, please keep the bug report website up a day or two after the flight is finished. Didn’t realize it when down at the same time and was waiting to submit stuff. - Overall, the game was a lot of fun!Specific Bugs:

I also ran into the quite audio bug. It seemed to occur when I joined a match that was already in progress. - The settings menu would flicker while scrolling through it. - Settings would not save between play sessions, specifically bindings and FOV. - Some settings felt like they had no effect. Deadzone was the main culprit. There also wasn’t a big enough separation between the slowest and highest sensitivity. - Some settings would change after backing out of the menu. Specifically ‘Hold to Sprint’ and ‘Hold to Crouch’ would toggle on/off. - I couldn’t figure out how to clear a binding. Maybe I missed it, but that is definitely something needed for mouse and keyboard. - Occasionally would see my banner as all neon pink in the main menu, as if it couldn’t find the texture properly. - Spartan chatter would not turn off even if the setting was enabled.
First of all, I would like to emphasize how happy I was to be able to take part at the flight. The overall impression was unbelievably positive, despite the issues that were expected and happened… You’re working on an absolute highlight here… I had palpitations, goosebumps and I thank everyone involved at 343i for their hard work on this massive thing
PC (with Controller) specific review:
- Frequent crashes that were difficult to explain. Sometimes this happens by opening the Xbox Gamebar. Had crashes between all of my first 6 Matches.
- FPS strangely limited. Changes to the Image Quality had no effects; selection options for the FPS restriction had no function.
- Frequent image flickering and flickering edges in the UI. The anti-aliasing often didn’t seem to be really active in the menu.
- Strangely limited sensitivity with the controller on the PC. I found it incredibly difficult to find a suitable sense (Elite Series 2 Contr.). In the end I played with look acceleration to 5 and deadzones to 0, which gave me the most reactive feeling, but somehow I found it difficult to find a balance between precision and quick looking around compared to other genre-representatives. Further options and finer setting options could help here.
- Settings were often not saved on restart
- The menu screen flickered at some points and the anti-aliasing often seemed to work less well
(Sorry for some grammatical errors. Due to time constraints, I had to translate my notes automatically)
Dropping this here since I can no longer access the bug report area (“access restricted”) and I did not receive a survey, so sorry!
Starting with the bug, then moving to the feedback:
- Game crashed after “windows key-ing” to the desktop menu while in the multiplayer match loading screen
- Game does not seem to hold onto 30 FPS so well on a pretty strong machine from 2019, but I assume it’ll be a bit better in the final game since this is just a technical preview.
Onto the feedback:
Really the only real major thing is that the UI feels like it was either designed with joysticks in mind first, or there was an attempt to mish-mash aspects of joystick navigation with mouse navigation. I cannot stress enough how important it is, on PC, to be able to do most (if not all) menu actions and interactions just by pointing and clicking. In its current implementation is feels wonky; having “F” and “Space” as core menu keys with “Enter” having little to no functionality is plain weird.
I have a Ryzen 3 2200g with a gtx 1650 and I have 3 PC only feedback points.
When playing on a controller I feel my aim slighlty slower than also playing on a controller on Xbox One.
In the visual settings option only had 3 max/min framerate options (20 something, 37 and 75). I think this has to do with your setup because Ive seen other people had more options than this, but still, if I can go up to 75 on min why cant I select 50?
And also, It seems Infinite is very CPU heavy. I was getting around 35FPS on low settings, 100%CPU usage and about 85%GPU, I think? I decided to overclock my CPU form 3.5GHz to 3.85 and apparenltly that made me get to 60FPS low-medium settings, 35 in medium-high and I felt pretty good about it. I dont know what can you do with this information but I hope it helps
I only managed to get into 3 games, every other attempt it would find a match and saying loading map then go to the black screen with the dots and then back to the multiplayer page. When a game did load, it still took 3-5 minutes to load in. Opening the game itself was 3-5 minutes as well. With the 3 matches I actually managed to play, I didn’t really notice anything gameplay wise to complain about honestly. AI bots were pretty good in how they acted. Weapons/equipment appeared to perform within expectations. No graphical or audio artifacts were noticed. Controls were responsive and the default keyboard layout is a good base to start with. The UI was pretty simple to use. The weapon drills were handy but it would have been nice to be able to load in to the drill area and switch weapons there instead of reloading into the drill area everytime. 3 matches isn’t a lot to go on but I was pleased with what I was able to see and look forward to the next flight. Lastly, please fix waypoint, it took me hours to get far enough into halo insider to get my steam key, should email the keys out next time on top of the portal.
Overall, Infinite feels pretty good, although three issues stood out to me in particular.
One - The netcode was a little worse than MCC, I noticed significantly more lag then I would get playing Reach.
Two - The Coating System as a whole feels very rigid and forced, I get that you guys got to make money, but throw us a bone here, man, this is arguably worse than the third issue.
Three - Too much reliance on challenges to progress, I’m fine with you guys having a battle pass, you have to monetize somehow, but the fact that we can only get XP by completing challenges rubs me the wrong way.
These things HAVE to change.
No ifs, No buts, I don’t wanna be rude or pushy, but PLEASE, get on it.
Graphics
Halo Infinite’s textures are not only behind Halo 3 and Halo 2: Anniversary, they are also behind Halo Reach in terms of quality in some spots. Can they be improved before launch?
- **Halo Infinite has worse wall graphics than Halo Reach**There were also missing bullet holes and explosion marks. Footprints were not appearing in mud for me while it did for other people.
Performance
Performance was decent maxed out at 4k on the latest AMD graphics card.
Bugs
A few bugs included objects briefly disappearing while loading the start of the match. One time I saw a bot standing against a wall unable to reach me. The network connection latency was bad sometimes with teleporting to random spots in some matches making a few of them unplayable.
Gameplay
The weapons are fairly well balanced and fun to use, although it felt pretty standard and offered little new mechanics beyond the new equipment. If Dual Wielding could be added several months after launch as an option for certain non-competitive modes (like Custom Games or Campaign), that would add more variety.
UI
The UI was really clunky to navigate with horizontal menus, vertical menus would be easier. Also an option to turn off player and weapon highlights would be nice for those who want immersion, as you can already turn off the HUD.
