I’m sure yours aware of issues with certain parts and even can just pull up my diag, but in short,
3900x 4.35GHz all core(didn’t have my 5900x handy this weekend, sry)
RTX 3080
4k
First of all, how do you not have a 60FPS option in your min and max?? like WAT?? people who dont have monitors at 60 like to run at 60 sometimes too, and i dont want rivatuner open when it drops my fps by like 5% because everything is CPU LIMITED. *Crys…
Most of the stutter is from CPU limited situations, Fix one, Default AMD CAS to 0 instead of 60, this helped a lot for me.
I get the same FPS in 480 as I do in 4k so please lower that CPU usage.
The menu runs even worse than everything else in terms of fps, dropping to 20 sometimes even, probably because the CPU needs to do stuff, and it’s already at 100, but maybe not?
please add photos for PC options, less experienced people rely on this, competitive players will just stick your game on low, and others will just set it to the max, but there is a lot of people in between.
Add dlss and amds new alternative too. make sure you have both.
add .5 increments to controller acceleration. it would be nice to have a 1.5 accell instead of having to drop my sens to 2.5 and all my ads to .9
I had a lot of fun in the tech preview, but like many people I’ve been having massive performance loss playing on my hardware (AMD R9 390). My video card and processor are a few years old but according to the spec requirements, I still exceed them. That all said, even on low or high settings, I would get the same 20-30 fps frames when in game. I’m fairly certain with my GPU, there hasn’t been any driver updates to help with the tech preview thus far and it’s due to that I’m getting an unoptimized performance. I just wanted to bring it up, it was just barely playable this weekend performance wise.
Issues/bugs I found: no battle pass progression if you click enter matchmaking immediately after a match also extremely slow to hop back in the match queue. Key binds/video presets reset to default after logging off sometimes just random items, there is no key to exit sniper scope unless you switch weapons or go through both zooms, no button to mute teammates, no battle pass progression for completing matches every match, rockets have too many rounds, shotguns bullet spread too much, cannot double bind an action to a key bind, holding zoom does not work for snipers its always one click and stays in zoom, battle pass purchase and CR token purchase system not working

There was an in-game message that said AMD users should update to AMD’s latest drivers and many users were reporting performance issues of double the frames they were previously getting.

Windowed Fullscreen mode is the difference maker here. I was able to turn on low latency mode in my gpu game profile settings and that helped me get to 90 fps sometimes. The PVP however was like 40 fps but still fun.
i loved it, the beta was great not perfect but not bad [besides the bugs], defo excited to see how far halo has come,
concerned infinite is the last halo.
First of all, thank you for inviting me to this Technical Test.
I think that the most commented apart from the various bugs or glitches, is the performance on PC, it is noted that they need to polish this detail a little.
Many people talk about that in their RTX does not pass 40 FPS, even in low graphics quality, I did the test on my PC with a GTX 1660 OC/i5 10400f/16Gb RAM 3000mhz, in ultra quality the game maintained a frame rate of 65-70 in most cases, rarely reaching 40, but even above 60 fps the game did not give me that feeling of fluidity while I moved around the map, we know that optimizing a game for PC can be very complicated due to the thousands of configurations that each user has on their computer, however they managed to improve the MCC to work as best as possible on PC, so I have no doubt that they will do the same with INFINITE.
Then talking about other bugs that I found and I guess that other players also are:
Some of the Settings you changed in configuration would reset for no reason. - The black screens when presented to the players at the beginning of the game or at the end of the game were simply not displayed. - Not as common but it happened to me like 3-4 times, the game would crash for no reason, the program would just stop responding or sometimes it would freeze but you could hear the game sound in the background, forcing you to close and open the game again. - Bots for no reason would just teleport behind you and practically kill you. - If you tried to use the Push to Talk function the game would simply close without any warning… - When the game put you in a game already in progress the game audio was completely distorted, causing you to only hear music in the background with the sound of your weapon. - Some emblem textures simply did not appear. - In the maps you can find some boxes that have no collision, so you can practically enter them and shoot from inside and the enemy can not see you or shoot you, the same happens in some parts when you try to climb a wall simply returns you to the ground (this happened to me more in the BAZZAR map) or visual glitches that sometimes put you inside the walls of the map without being able to get out.Other than those glitches I really enjoyed this technical test, I loved the game, its mobility, its weapons and the spartans just look fabulous, I can’t wait for the next flight.
I have a PC with a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1650s, the game was good but at low-medium graphics, and on one occasion it gave me a crash, that while I was trying to buy in the store, At the time of recording with the Twitch program I had problems, FPS drops during the recording of the game, I used the GeForce experience to record the game and I was decent I want to think that it was a game optimization problem, hopefully this is resolved in future betas.

Oh my just use OBS and game capture (or Window capture since it wasnt in true fullscreen) and youll save on RAM, CPU, and GPU!
Was not able to play matchmaking on PC, furthest i got was 20seconds into a game before it crashed, could play through the training with only a few crashes and same for even the menu, i tried overclocked and not overclocked for gpu, cpu and memory, tried closing background apps and all combinations, game just was not stable on my PC, PC specs are… 10900K, 32gb 3600mhz memory, RTX 3080, should have been able to run the game quite comfortably yet no luck.
Hey I have a few things I’d like to recommend based on my time with the Flight.
1: Please allow more fined tuned Mouse and Keyboard sensitivities. For example, having it be 1.22222 instead of 1.2 then 1.3.
2: Please allow a grid based selection for cosmetic selection. A horizontal row selection will not be a smooth experience as you acquire more cosmetics
3: Allow a different shield break color if preferred. Sometimes its hard to tell how much damage you inflict on an enemy and if their shield was broken. Just added clarity would be great
4: Shield wall feels useless I don’t know what I would to to buff it, but I don’t use it because its way to easy to destroy/counter. Maybe have no deployment delay?
5: The range feels limiting, maybe even have an “infinite timer” phase so I don’t have to keep relaunching to warm up/ tune sensitivities.
6: My last criticism lies with weapon balancing, bloom is way too punishing with the AR. Plasma Pistol takes too long to charge, and Needler is a tad too strong.
THis is the most Halo a Halo game has felt in a while! Great job 343!
So I just wanted to start by thanking the team at 343i for making such a fun experience accessible to myself and everyone else that was invited! There were a few hiccups along the way, but we all knew that would be the case going in since you guys were quite transparent about this being an earlier build, and explaining that it would bug out under the stress of so many players. That said, this was a whole lot of fun! Almost all of the weapons felt great, the maps were beautiful and fun to play around in, and the bots, while ridiculous (in a funny sort of way) were a blast! I played ping ponged with inputs a bit, and think for the most part the weapons play well in both, but I do think that maybe controllers could use a smidge more tuning or assist or something. I’m not sure, but aiming could feel off at times. This felt most noticeable with the Commando so maybe there’s something there to look at? Overall though, most weapons felt decently viable across both inputs. The most prevalent bugs I ran into were extended “black screens” which often then leave me in the menu for inactivity, game crashes, a few melee attacks that didn’t register, and the resetting of my control settings. I know most of those are known issues, but figured it best to mention them just to add further data on how prevalent they were across the board.
Rounding back to the bots, as they were the focus of the test, their grenades throws were strong, as was their ranged accuracy with the starting kit, but nothing too absurd. I think with fine tuning, so that they don’t spin out looking straight up or down sometimes, they could be a viable way for people to grasp the basics of the game. They don’t really hold key map locations so they’ll never feel quite like players, but the strafing, mid strafe crouches, and jumps do make for a more authentic feel. They should probably be made to pick up weapons off the racks more often though. I saw them do so, but only rarely. More often than not they would pick weapons up off of dead players.
I’ll write up some more thorough feedback in a separate thread, but just wanted to drop some quick notes here, and thank the team again for all their hard work!

For point 3 it was odd for me to see when I thought I had an enemy kill and I realized I left them alive. Having the sounds for kills helps a lot but I feel as if enemies will be highlighted all the time it makes the shield pops visually distracting and I made the mistake of not finishing off an enemy a few times. Although I’ve hit unscoped pistol finishers across the map with barely 1mm of their head showing as well so I can’t complain I think it just needs some tuning.
Had a 2700X and a RTX 2080 Super, Was very confused about why i was only getting 43-52 fps but then someone pointed out that the minimum framerate slider seemed to solve the issue. Putting the minimum and maximum fps to the maximum rate (165) my monitor refreshes at fixed the problem immediately and brought me to 90-100+ FPS. I assume that was just a bug and that the minimum framerate isn’t what the engine is aiming for natively. - Did have an odd experience where I grappled a character model as they were dying and the grapple stayed connected to the bot’s body and I was unable to shoot or perform any other action aside from basic movement, even jumping was disabled. - Resolution of the background in the menu was pretty pixilated like it wasn’t matching the render resolution of the window, but that all went away during gameplay. - I also experienced audio muffling in matched that sounded like it was space warfare and no air was present outside the helmet. but music and the announcer would come through crystal clear. Music did get a bit loud though. - Moments when I was loading I would get kicked back to the main screen and be unable to launch another game until I had restarted the game entirely. Even drills wouldn’t launch. - Emblem wouldn’t appear or would be filled in with a pink box at random times between matches. Certain elements of the UI would be missing at times in the menus but toggling between matches would load them in properly again, including the pink emblem box. - Sad there wasn’t just an option for a fullscreen mode and not just borderless window mode, but i know it was a tech preview.Positive Feedback
Bots were quite enjoyable to play against and did initially serve as a challenge even for a long time fan of the series. very capable AI and not too unfair. - Gameplay felt smooth after the framerate fix and the moment to moment gameplay loop definitely game me vibes of Halo 3 (Great thing!) - Absolutely loved the map designs and sprint speed, I felt like the maps were perfect in size for small to medium maps including the bazaar. Sprint didn’t feel too fast but was enough of a difference to serve the purpose of enhanced movement. - The Grapple is absolutely one of my favorite pieces of new kit and traversal felt really good with it especially on multilevel areas. Although I do wish it was a touch faster. - Customization of my spartan was very enjoyable and I did like the core system, however I’d like the option for custom colors with a limited color set so that we could have a bit more control over the base colorations, and have the more extravagant cores be earned with unique colors and patterns be something you can earn for truly unique looks. Overall very solid. - Weapons felt great and I absolutely adore the new hammer sound and feel. you definitely get a sense of smash when wailing on your enemies. - Loved looking at the models of the guns, vehicles, and characters, and being able to spin them around in real time was fantastic especially when applying colors and skins. - Thank you so much for the Drills, definitely one of the best decisions made so that new players can try the guns out and improve, hit feedback is also very great for understanding spread at variable distances.Thank you for the invitation to the Technical Preview Flight. it was a blast and I hope to be selected again should you need feedback. Got some really good vibes about this game and despite having two years of Gamepass I might still just pick this game up in the launch window just to have a solid copy. I love the nuances in the game and all the little details like the old needler melee animation, and you all are definitely on the right track for a great halo game. Keep it up and i look forward to the finished product, whenever it is ready.
Very excited for this game cant wait to get my hands on the full game, but don’t rush it there were quite a bit of bugs in the flight. I’m guessing its gonna be solved and we’ll just have to see how is the campaign gonna be, but right now its a solid 8.5/10 for me.
There should be a dedicated “Zoom out” keybind like how MCC has. This way people who use scroll wheel to zoom in and out don’t have to full zoom with a sniper/skewer in order to zoom out fully.
All in all I think this game has solid bones. The movement: sprinting, jumping, clambering all felt fairly crisp and responsive. The grapplehook was SO fun and I can’t wait to see all kinds of crazy plays with it after launch. I also really appreciate the very grounded feel of the arena gameplay with set weapon & gear spawns.
Constructive feedback:
On PC with M&K, something about the aiming did not feel natural relative to playing MCC on PC. It felt distinctly harder to track targets, especially when they were strafing. This may be related to movement speed/strafe speed being different from past games, I’m not sure. However with years of MCC muscle memory at this point, there was a distinctly different feeling to some of the aiming and following targets that I couldn’t quite correct with my sensitivity. I felt much sloppier with my aiming in Infinite relative to Reach or Halo 4 on the same PC. - When being shot by an enemy, there was very little visual or audio feedback to indicate A) if I was being shot, or B) what I was being shot by. I very often had no idea when an enemy was attacking me, which was very confusing and inhibited my ability for counter play. This was particularly noticeable with the needler, which seems to be missing some of the more recognizable sound effects, both when being hit & the supercombine especially. Ideally the sound cues and visuals should indicate that I’m being shot, give me some sense of where and ideally what kind of weapon is hitting me. This information I felt was lacking all around. - Enemy shields were very difficult to read. The visual cues I expect to see when you break a Spartan shield were not present or as noticeable as before. It is easier to notice when you break someone’s shield while looking right at it, but after a shield is broken it can be very hard to tell that a player is in an unshielded state. Sometimes I would break an enemy shield and not actually be sure if I had done so. - I personally do not feel that unique player colors is a good choice for Halo Multiplayer. As long as we can toggle on the classic “red vs blue” team colors I will be satisfied, but there is definitely a difference in the time it takes to identify friend from foe without team colors, and that extra second or two can be life or death. I even tried different colors for the enemy UI indicators, but I would still regularly have to double-take whether someone was a teammate or enemy. Additionally, with the UI glow that surrounds an enemy player, it’s very difficult to actually see what colors they are, so it feels like a superficial and unnecessary change. Please include a toggle. - Frag grenade splash damage felt a little too small. Both when attacking & fleeing grenades, I felt it was too easy to evade their range without even needing to sprint. - Plasma grenade targeting could benefit from a hitbox adjustment due to range. When an enemy is within a certain range and generally centered in your view, it’s hard to understand when a sticky grenade misses wide because the reticle was just outside of your opponent’s hitbox. I think it should be somewhat easier to stick an opponent when up close because typically in CQC setting there’s very little time to actually aim, and in reality if you were right in front of the enemy it would be much harder to miss them.
Thanks for the technical preview invite. I see lots of issues already mentioned, but here goes:
binding push to talk crashes the game
keybinds reset in Steam version if same account was used to play Xbox preview
stuttery gameplay even with ingame 100+ fps
sound issue (sounds missing) when joining game in progress
My rig main components are R3600x, 16 GB RAM with RTX3060 Ti, if it helps with the issue resolution.
Despite the technical issues, the preview was very fun to play and I am eagerly looking for the next opportunity to help with making the game even better.
i playd the flight on pc and i think it felt really smooth, i got around 120 fps avrage on low settings and i got a 2080 ti and i9 9900k, but hope the game can get more optimized for better performance ingame, i liked all the weapons without the sniper and the gravity hammer, the sniper felt really heavy and hard to use, and the gravity hammer felt so slow with the animation, and here is some bugs that happend ingame when playing, Bug 1 was if 2 ppl pick up a weapon at the same time the weapon dublicate and crash the server, bug 2 sometimes when u pick up new ammo with empty mag u get a bug where u cant fire the gun, the fix for it is the switch weapon to 2nd gun and back again then it fixes the problem, bug 3 sometimes when the granade explode it crates this bright flash fx so u get blinded for 1 sec, bug 4 when u climb the edges sometimes ur spartan glitch so u fall down again, that was all bugs i got inn to, so now the maps, my fav map was bazaar i loved how the map felt and looked,
Recharge was also a map i really liked it felt like halo maps should be… same with bazaar map, but Live Fire was the map i dislike mostly because i think i looked really simple and boxy, and the map got really fast boaring, but i really happy with this Halo Infinite flight, this is how i want halo to feel like when playing, i have playd halo since halo 2 and i got the classic halo feeling mixed with modern feeling of the game, i like all the powerups and how the work, and also like how the sprinting is in the game its really balanced i think, i looking forward for more flights to test, 343i have got far ceep up the good work ! i crash like 10 times or something the first days but overall it was good,
Bots was oky they wasent really good, the marine bots was really easy, but its cool how the bots play and how the bots work, ODST Bots felt simular to the marines bots they could need a upgrade how hard the bots is, also with the spartan bots all the bots is really simular skill, i like the academy added to halo, its perfect for new players and avrage players to test out different guns and how they work, its also good for finding ur perfect sens ingame and to get better aim, and the aim assist in this game is so much different from the other halo games, i like that its not that strong so keyboard and mouse players also have a chance, The battle pass was working fine for me, i wish the medals in this game could look better, they look really boaring
