First I want to start off by saying I didn’t get to play for two days of the preview due to troubleshooting a problem that arose after installing the game. I had a problem where the launcher was telling me I had the wrong version of windows and needed to download Windows Fall Creators 1709 update when my rig was running the Windows 10 21H1 19043 update. After diving into the crash logs I found that the game was running into a problem with Sonic Studio 3. After uninstalling the software I was finally able to get the game up and running. There seems to be a packet loss problem with the game when Sonic Studio 3 is installed the launcher tends to come to a complete halt when encountering the software.
On Sunday I played both the PvE and PvP game modes and I personally feel that the game is going in the right direction for the base gameplay experience. It feels more on the lines of what we got with Halo2 and 3. The map design has gone back to three lane system making the completive gameplay feel pleasant with the main focus going back to the importance of map domination and locking down those force multipliers. The gun play was done very well and the sound design was pleasant. One of my big concerns with the multiplayer coming from playing other big name free to play games like CoD Warzone and Apex Legends is the problem with cheating. Unless there is a Hardware ban most of the people that use cheats will be able create a new account and be back into the game within minutes. This was one of the reasons why CoD warzone lost so many players over its life time and the blatant disregard to the problem by the game studio.
