Just had the issue of wiping off my wasd Keys and actually made my HUD disappear and could not hit ESC to go to menu. had a great match still kept playing. loads of fun on that one honestly making it cinematic. (honestly hit way more than WADS keys but whose counting. so yea then i got to main menu and i had to Alt F4 and im loading the game back up. Cheers mates
Would like to recommend Halo Infinite working with Nvidia’s GeForce Experience game settings optimizer. I know that MCC is already on that list and can be optimized in one tap, but just want to make sure feedback is provided to show its wanted for infinite too.
Thank you!
It was good for a tech preview.
Obviously there’s work to be done.
Despite all known issues, I have two main concerns:
- Some setting reset sometimes after closing the game and 99% of the time FOV resets, so it became a ritual to go to Setting and set the FOV every time I launch the game - My biggest concern - FPS and GPU load.
When I launched the game for the first time I set Minimum FPS to 60/Maximum to 120. So my FPS was always around 60 with GPU load between 60-70%.
Then I set my minimum to 80 FPS, so my gameplay FPS was around 80.
Lastly I set my minimum FPS to 100 and got the same result, but the GPU load was lower this time - around 50%.
But the game never reached set Maximum 120 FPSI’m on i9-9900k and EVGA 3090 FTW3 with latest drivers

> I don’t like how the title screen moves with my mouse cursor it makes me physically sick please add an option to disable it
you can in the ui settings
Call me stupid, but the mouse acceleration option, the description doesn’t make too much sense for the last 2 options or I just don’t know what they do, and I dont understand the number values too well. The min and max I understand description wise.
Currently running the Technical Alpha on a 1440p monitor with an GeForce RTX 3070. Settings are High to Ultra depending on the criteria. Game overall feels like an older build but I know release will feel ultra smooth. Runs just fine though and has definitely met my expectations!
I’d like to see your team take another look at the way the Battle Pass is displayed. I believe more can be done with it. It would be nice in the Armor Hall to have an animation happen when equipping a different piece, like some robotic arms or machines coming through and replacing the old item with the new item.
Gun play feels solid. THANK YOU for making the Assault Rifle actually worthwhile with the right fire rate (don’t spray and pray, keep it tight). I’ve been able to do considerable damage with it!
So im a big Halo fan and played since Halo CE, and was an 5 star general in H3 and so on…
I play on a pc with AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3,4GHz and RTX 3070.
I love the game but some key things im thinkin about it.
First thing, I think the movement needs to be worked on, the game felt pretty shaky not super satisfied with the slide and sprint, every time you do slide and jump it does feel pretty bad, i think you need to make the movement more simple and less shaky, maybe making it possible to jump higher while slide jumping.
Second thing, Do u even need sprint? I have always been curious about if you really want sprint in a Halo game? I love the jump mechanics in Halo 3, how u use crouch when jumping on ramps to get a little boost and so on, the game is fast enough without sprint and I love how you can play around with ur opponents by just walking around the corners.
Third thing, the nades…, i think you need to make the nades bounce more and higher in closer combat, the nades feels a little bit too fast and when throwin it far away it might bounce even too far.
(something feels off with the nades)
Fourth thing, the sniper isnt that satisfying, the zoom can be more simple, and it felt shaky between the shoots. even changing the sound off it might help, we dont need a sniper sounding like a heavy sniper, and we dont need the sniper to feel like a heavy sniper, keep it simple!
Overall good experience but some things need to be done to the movement, better slide and sprint mechanic need to be worked on, or even a game without sprint with the classic trick jump mechanics.
Another small thing that Im alrdy thinking you will have in the release is that aim assist isnt a thing?

> Please include option to not play versus controllers.
I don’t second this but I feel the same way I tested most of my flight with controller because I wanted to try both experience’s and I found out that the controller’s are too op. at this stage of the flight give them some slack we just started the flighting process. And i do remember hearing that some of them work from home right now so a lot of them might be just as tired as I am lol.
I’m on PC, I use a PlayStation5 (wired, not bluetooth) controller through Steam to play Halo: Infinite - Insider.
Half of my matches feel fine on controller. On what seems to be the other half my controller’s sensitivity shoots up. It does not occur exclusively to these situations, although I have noticed it to often occur either when I tab out of the window or at the end of a match when the screen says victory. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but something about the sensitivity seems to fluctuate and change, it’s very unpredictable and very difficult to play with. I can’t seem to lower it or reset it without fully restarting my computer, and occasionally restarting the app will work, but very rarely. Once the issue has appeared it stays. It even changes the sensitivity in the main menu, I will try and select different buttons and the controller input seems to pass multiple buttons/options when I meant to pass one. So it almost seems to be an input issue rather than one that is exclusive to gameplay. The issue is on bot slayer, academy, everything. Once it’s there, it affects every input in the application. Another interesting detail is that the magnetism to enemy players seems to almost return the sensitivity value back down to what it was originally. So when I aim towards/around any enemy players or other magnetized areas of interest the sensitivity quickly resets to what it was.
Very strange. Could be specific to my weird setup of controllers. I imagine it has something to do with Steam’s controller input, which converts my PS5 remote to an Xbox remote. I do not use DS5 for my controllers, although I have it installed. It likely isn’t an urgent issue, but this should be fixed at launch as I know many PC players have bought controllers for the Steam PC build of the game. When the bug occurs the game is not unplayable although it is significantly less fun and when I can’t solve it with a restart I will often just log off because it isn’t worth it.
Thanks for listening, you guys are doing great keep it up
I just want to say, that aside from the bugs and issues that need to be ironed out, (I.E. Main menu related bugs, crashing whenever I bind Push To Talk to V, shots having no audio or animation, mouse stuttering, audio being almost silent in some matches despite audio settings, and issues with the in game voice chat.) I genuinely had an absolutely amazing experience with this preview, this is some of the most fun I’ve had with Halo in a while (don’t get me wrong, MCC is an absolute blast even almost 1,000 hours in) I’ve had so much fun with bot slayer alone, and I cannot wait to see the Campaign and the other modes, and the sound design is some of the best I’ve heard in an fps in recent memory. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited to see a new title, let alone a new entry in one of my all time favorites. Although I don’t think many people will see this, I just want to say thank you to the developers for keeping the shooter series that will always have a place in my heart alive, and thank you for making my weekend the best one I’ve had all year. Thank you 343.
Followup to this post detailing my experience playing on the first day I was in the test flight: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/29568daf8cd14083bd1b70a810bf3581/topics/infinite-tech-preview-–-pc-specific-feedback/af49ecdc-1df6-43ed-a69a-79a727eb52ae/posts?page=35#post700
My System specifications are as follows:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
BaseBoard Manufacturer : ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
BaseBoard Product: PRIME B450M-A
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) : 32.0 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER
Day 2 and 3 notes regarding my experience on PC:
- Experienced stuttering post-patch making the head-bobbing somewhat disorienting. Stuttering on the second day of playing the test-flight was much more noticeable and nearly unplayable. This was seemingly remedied on day 3. - Menus flickered when brought up during a multiplayer match - Black screen after a match that lasted longer than normal - Was booted back to the main-menu when attempting to queue for a match several times and drove me away from longer play sessions. - Stuttering seems to be related to view-bobbing or non-player controlled camera movement as it is still visible in match intro scenes. - Saw better framerate and less stuttering when turning v-sync on - Pc performance on “bazaar” was generally good and consistent with “recharge”. “Live fire” while seemingly not as detailed as those two maps, performed the worst framerate wise no matter what graphics settings were selected. - No sound played when getting killed by an enemy. - Bumped my graphics settings down to the “low” preset and saw very little change in both visual fidelity and performance - When trying to leave a match the most recent grenade explosion and match sound effect playback over and over until i said quit the match again
Now That i think about it, because of how they built the game controller’s would be op. I suggest adding mouse and keyboard support to console not just the series S&X but the one S&X in the next flight so people stop complaining about it now. it’s probably an upcoming feature but I think the community of pc and console gamers will tear each other apart over it. If you don’t do it Sooner or later. I personally had no problems In my test with aim assist. Because I’m a terrible aim i adjusted the deadzone’s to prove a point in my testing of the game. I had audio issues as well as setting’s not saving when I opened the game back up. Sorry I’m not trying to spam I just wanted to play catch up because my sleeps been messed up it’s not the your guys fault. I just been having problems on the home front like all the devs at home right now. Other than that i had no game breaking bugs on my end because a lot of them where ironed out the next day.
Ryzen 7 4800h
16gb ram RTX 2060 mobile
Game cant go over 80 fps, full hd res, all graphics low with RTX 2070 + i7 10700k and 32gigs of RAM it is not acceptable. I have 240hz monitor and playing in these conditions is painful
The explosions (because of shaders and the game aggressively adjusting to maintain frame rate, I think) look like Duke Nukem sprites.
I loved the flight… Only had a few visual bugs like items in the store not loading in and being discontinued a few times…
Xbox was easier to play on… On PC I disconnected almost all the time. Matches not loading etc. Pc needs alot more polishing
Besides that same as Xbox feedback and I loved it… Preordered the game
PC player here. Some matches I would lose audio for shooting or action from other players/bots nearby. Only experienced one or two crashes during the main menu, and the three dot loading screen would take forever to get through a couple of times. Overall, I had a great time with this preview. Bots were a bit grenade happy and were extremely precise with them pineapples, tho.
I checked the thread and I have not really encountered any other bugs that have not yet been reported. I would like to request two things. First, would you allow us to move hud elements left and right to our liking. I play on an ultrawide 5120 x 1440 monitor and the game looks wonderful however, I would like to move some elements of the hud. For example, I would like to push the hud closer to the middle, and remove the scoreboard. Secondly, I would like to request us coloring specific armor pieces with the shaders instead of the shaders automatically coloring all armor.
Incredibly fun gameplay with a lot of variety available in play styles. My two main problems are that the boys aiming I feel doesn’t challenge us enough and their movement and better optimisation is CRITICAL for launch on pc
could not play it 980ti bug hope get fix in next flight !
- Option to disable sprint crosshair
- Add higher sensitivity options for controller (10 isn’t high enough)
- Option for lowered crosshair placement like classic Halo
- Add crosshair size customization (ideally for each individual weapon)
