I made a report on the Insider site a little bit ago as I was having the same problem. They’ve acknowledged the issue.
So uh, so far not so good. It won’t launch for me, just sits at the 4 white dots shifting on a black screen.
AMD RX 5700xt, Ryzen 5 3600. 16GB 3200mhz ram, running off an Intel M.2 Drive.
So is anyone having issues walking left or right? im playing with a controller and my left joystick wont walk right but works just fine left forwards and backwards
im having a bug when i set my “switch equipment” to “left D-pad” the game crashes. ive done it multiple times to see if it would happen again and sure enough its repeatable.
I’ve been having audio issues where it will cut out for a few seconds every once in a while. In menus and while playing a match. Also the first time I tried to load the game it stayed on the loading screen for about 10 minutes until I force closed it. Second time it started right up. Same type of issue with getting into a bot slayer match. It would load the map, go to the loading screen, and then kick me to the main menu. I did some weapons trials, and then bot slayer worked just fine.
Beyond that there is a general lack of performance. On low settings I get 80-90 FPS with an RTX 3090 and Ryzen 5900x. On ultra I’m in the 55-60 FPS range. Framerate issues I expect could be due to no driver optimizations since this is just a tech preview.

Seems like after this new update my key bindings got reset. There’s also a number of issues with the keybindings menu crashing. The default PC binds aren’t that great either, here’s what I change(and would change as part of the base controls):
- Throw Grenades to middle mouse(why is a core gameplay element relegated off the mouse? this bind being G by default makes no sense. Shooting and nades should be controlled via the mouse like older Halo PC titles.) - G for swapping grenades - Q For Melee attacks (F is also acceptable if we’re talking legacy Halo PC controls, but Q is easier to reach.) - Tab to switch weapons(Classic PC controls, usually I like to leave scroll wheel switching in though I don’t use it - having zoom level up/down bind options in the menu would be useful.) - F1, F2, etc. should be menu/scoreboard options but every time I’ve tried binding that key it crashes the game. - V for equipment - C for spottingJust some examples of what I think would be good changes for the PC experience to increase the ease of play, based on legacy PC binds from Halo 1 PC.
Can’t get into the multiplayer games. Everything looks like its working but when its time to enter the game, goes to black screen with the moving dots, stays there for a few minutes and then back to the menu screen and Failed Load message. Have tried restarting game, restarting Steam and entire PC, no resolution. Academy works fine, feels clunky and slow and mouse movements need improvement in speed of range. Have submitted ticket with dxdiag attatchment. I have also attempted to go back to the support page to follow up on my ticket and I keep getting an error message Error 1001.

I don’t seem to be able to access the Insider support page due to a DNS error, so just in case I can’t get my ticket through I’ll post it here.
Getting graphical errors while in game with FPS sometimes dropping to half of my average and being locked there. 58~ down to 28~ fps.
The colour overlays that appear on friendlies and enemies seem to sometimes disperse over the entirety of my screen to make it look like a Picasso painting.
I also cannot seem to bring up the windows game bar while playing this particular game, I’ll try recording my issues with my graphics driver instead next time.

BUG (originally posted in Bot Slayer feedback as this thread didn’t seem to exist)
Cause: Changing grenades on PC
Result: Game locks up and remains that way until you kill the process.
Frequency: Occasional. Have had it happen four times in Bot Slayer, the freeze is instant upon changing grenades. Definitely not every time but common enough I don’t like changing nades.
I have received the Code and downloaded the game on steam however I am stuck in the boot up screen permanently, the screen with three dots on the left, and I get a DNS error when attempting to go to https://insidersupport.halowaypoint.com/

I have the Vega 56 also but a Icore 9700. Was able to hit 70fps once I turned the settings to low and was playable but looked meh.
Also I am mainly an xbox player. Default PC controls should be changed for those who dont edit bindings…0 key should not be default for an ability
Playing on PC, unsure if it’s related but I experienced a crash when editing my push to talk key bind while in queue. I was the not the leader of the queue. My group consisted of 2 people including myself.
every time I open the game on steam, I get an error saying i meed to have directx 12 graphics adapter being installed on the latest drivers. I updated AND reinstalled but nothing!! I have not been able to play it in 24 hours!! i saw that other people are having the same issue. hopefully, the alpha will be able to run better with my low teir hardware.
i just finished the platinum warrior weekly challenge. Where is my Legendary item? it is either bugged or not added to the game yet.

So I have been messing around with the keys and I have noticed that If you press F and G(For Grenade) You can Throw the grenade and Shot at the same time with no delay what so ever.
I feel like the Commando should have about a 10% increase in damage
I like the fact that the Gravity Hammer has a build up but I feel like it should be a little faster in hitting.
I feel like when you select something on the customize menu instead of it bringing you to a whole other menu. You can just double click it to confirm and if it has attachments It bring up a small Image based Dropdown extra so it doesn’t feel weird.

I’ve been getting crashes when rebinding my stuff too.
On a 1070, i7-6700k. Medium settings, 55% scale 4k (so a bit higher than 2k) I think it was high 50s (with 60 cap) relatively smooth on the indoor map, but the outdoor map is considerably less optimized, sits around 45.
There is a consistent crash when attempting to remind movement keys. Other keys seem fine, though. Seems inconsistent whether it will remember control changes (eg inversion, hold to sprint/zoom/crouch, as well as keybinds).
