Didn’t get invited despite signing up for beta July 2nd. Have a 2080rtx laptop with an i7 8750h that’s begging to get used, but I go back to work in the oilfield 100+ hrs a week starting Sunday. Guess I’ll just go play destiny. There’s my feedback.

Is it normal for https://support.halowaypoint.com/ to take over 8 hours to respond to a ticket? Also I can’t make a ticket on https://insidersupport.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us

Game has crashed a few times. Each time it does, all settings are reverted to defaults, but I am not signed out of my account. Also a strange low volume game sound issue when joining late has been relatively consistent whenever I do join matches late.

  1. Game needs a headshot feedback, whether it’d be medals or audio cues like Halo 5. Not very satisfying to hit headshots.

  2. Mouse magnetism literally doesn’t work.

  3. Optimization is terrible and CPU usage is too high, game is barely playable.

Specs:
i7 10700k
RTX 3070 ti
32GB RAM

Resolution:
2560 x 1440 pixels 144hz

  • The game has low FPS on Ultra or Lowest settings. - Switching from Ultra to Low doesn’t seem to improve performance at all which doesn’t make much sense. - CPU usage is very high

On a Ryzen 5 2600, and gtx 1070. The game runs fairly well at mixture of medium and high settings (with a few on low) ultra textures at 1440p (with dymaic res). 50 - 70 fps but normally round 60

One issue I found is that async compute while does boost fps, cause what feels like the frame timing issues which makes it feel like a lower fps when then it is. I am using a gsync display in case that might be the cause of it (I do have vsync turned off)

I received the same message as BundleDad

I run a laptop not to say it is comparable to a desktop but it’s all I can work with for the moment I run a Ryzen 7 4800h, RTX 2060 mobile with 16 gb of ram. I have not played a lot so I don’t have the right to complain but I look at al the people streaming and they seem to be having better luck. But then again a lot of them seem to have more powerful pc’s that can handle it or they are running on console. But I have already begun to see improvements in the Technical Preview build already and the last time I played was 9 hours ago. All I can really say is your doing a fine good job with what you have already which gives me hope for the future of the final release keep up the good work.

On PC…
INITIALLY I wasn’t able to match into any games. (I tried for almost a legitimate hour.)

AFTER updating my own version of Softwares/GPU/Driver (NOT the software mentioned in news/game) and restarting my computer…
I am now able to enter AND play the bot matches.

No matter what Softwares/CPU/GPU/Drivers you have…
Make sure everything that helps with gaming and CPU usage is UP TO DATE on your PC.

I recommend the newest versions of gaming computers for playing this game.
2018 CPUs/PCs and back will likely have a much harder time running this game at it’s very best. (Highest Graphic Settings)

LAG is abundant, but it is far from chronic. I am still capable of playing fairly smoothly. BUT…
I have to use the LOW graphics settings for everything to play as I am.

Running on:
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (build 19042.985 / 20H2 update)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 2 x 8 GB 2400 mhz
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200rpm
Playing from Neuquén, Argentina. 300 mbps ISP.

  • Game takes too long to start on a hard drive, before showing the logo and menu. - I’m running Halo at low settings, 90% of 1920x1080. It get stucks at 50FPS or what number I try for minimum so it doesn’t perform well. At medium settings it gets blurry with dynamic resolution. - Many times (like 7 of 10) I can’t join a match. - Even when playing weapon drills, it has a delay at showing some assets, popping in front of view. - We need exclusive fullscreen to reduce input lag. - When getting a melee kill, there’s a bit of delay on register the kill, so I try to hit again when the enemy is already dead. - Game crashes when I bound push-to-talk to any key. I was trying “mouse4” (first lateral button) but it happens when choosing “V” letter. - It crashes too when I switch grenades with “Alt” key, it happened two times. - After a crash, I lose my last modified settings.

Unfortunately can’t even get into the game. Game crashes within a few minutes of startup, sometimes as early as barely getting to the main menu. Tried lowering graphics settings and shutting down background apps just in case that was the case with no success. Would love to give more feedback but I can’t even get into gameplay right now.

Not sure if it’s something hardware related but I’ll drop my specs here just in case.
PC specs: Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 3070, 32GB RAM. Game is running off a Samsung 870 QVO SSD

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19043) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Updated to graphics drivers before I started playing.

At Low settings able to get 60 FPS but any setting above low is under 60 and basically unplayable. I’m actually surprised I can’t run the game on a higher setting its the first time I played a game where I was unable to get 60 on high. Something about the aiming feels off would be nice to get 1 to 1 settings from MCC for sensitivity. Maybe it is I’m not sure I’m kind of running barebones settings atm. At 60fps it still feels clunky(but playable) because I am used to 100+fps on my 144hz monitor.

As far as matchmaking will be done if the game does not have input based matchmaking (aka kb/m vs kb/m only) the PC community will diminish quickly.

Going to keep messing around but at the moment if I purchased the game and it ran in the current state I would return it strictly because of how it is running on my PC.

edit1:
Game play is fun an exciting I love the guns especially the new plasma BR super fun!

edit2:
Went to picked up a dropped plasma rifle and was disconnected. Not sure if server creashed or bug

Stop obfuscating the ADS speed. If it says magnified aim is at 1x your base aim then it should be at 1x. At 1x at all magnification levels the aim is significantly slower than hipfire. Most PC gamers want 1-to-1 aiming when ADS and hipfire so they only have to learn to react at one speed. Stop hiding whatever weird calculation you’re doing to convert aim and expose it to the player.

Trying to change “Campaign menu/scoreboard” causes the game to instantly crash.
Joining into a game that has already started causes some of the audio to be lowered while other stay at the same volume (Personal A.I, Announcer, Your character’s voice/hit sound are not changed but weapon sounds, grenades, hit markers, footsteps are lowered)

I did go there and looked and the additional info that’s beside the preview, isn’t showing the steam key activation code.

Anyone gotten the Preview to work on a 970? My friend gets stuck on a black screen when trying to launch from his PC

I’m sad and disappointed spartans, I registered for the beta they gave me access only that they gave me access on xbox and I did not get the code for pc on steam :frowning: and for now I don’t have xbox, in conclusion I can’t play the beta :(, the weird thing is that all my friends got the beta for both platforms, today is a sad day get out of insider I want to be alone :frowning:

I think the UI as it currently stands is too cumbersome to navigate with mouse and keyboard. To keep the feedback short I’d love to see double click and right click used.
Double click to equip a cosmetic without navigating to its specific screen
Right click to go back to the previous page

Pretty bad when you get accepted and the links they gave you don’t even work. Feelsbadman

Getting a maximum of 60 fps and a minimum of 40 with a 2080Ti and Ryzen 3700X. Aiming feels slow and a little clunky, not as smooth as CoD. No option for fullscreen.

I’ve played for 14 hours so far and i’ve been having a great time! got some performance problems and bugs to report though

-=Feedback=-

  • Getting choppy/low fps
getting 70-100fps on ultra even with min fps enabled and set to 144 (144fps cap in NVCP, Gsync fullscreen and windowed)
  • keybinding crashes my game (only tried keybinding push to talk to a mouse button on the side of my mouse) - Some sounds like the music on the main menu and footsteps are really quiet (10/10 game volume 60% windows volume, 100% headset volume, dolby atmos enabled in windows. using the seinheiser game one headset) - FOV setting resets every time i close the game and reopen it.
Also happens to voice chat, defaults to Open mic even though it says disabled!! - The UI feels like it was built for console, the menus feel like they were designed with controller bumpers in mind and don’t feel great to navigate on pc - not pc specific but grenade jumping doesn’t seem to be in infinite? :frowning:
