I really had a blast in general with BTB this weekend. I just hope in the final games there are other maps with bigger more open spaces where more vehicles can be used at once because I felt like I was never in a one and that the map was more for infantry.
I enjoyed BTB a lot this past weekend! For the most part I think it was awesome, but there were a few issues I had, and also some feedback to give as well (most of my “general gameplay” related feedback is going to be dumped here since I played BTB the most this flight). Keep in mind, I played on an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53 for this flight:

Stuttering was very bad, and much worse on BTB. Not as bad as my experience in Flight 1 (which was actually on my Xbox One S), but was still very noticeable. My specs, while not good enough to run the game on high settings, should definitely be good enough to run the game without stuttering on low settings (what I had it set to), and I’m able to run games like COD Cold War fine on medium. - Aiming felt a bit… off to me. It felt harder to aim in this flight, both compared to other shooters as well as to Flight 1. This was most noticeable with precision weapons, and even more of a problem in BTB it seemed. I was playing with M&K. I’ve looked online and found that I’m not the only one with this issue, and it’s affected both M&K and controller players, and the theory is that it involves input lag rather than aim assist. However, only some players experience this, not all, and I don’t know why. - It feels like hits with weapons don’t always register, even if an enemy is within my red reticle range and in the center of my reticle. I’m also not the only one with this problem, it seems. Once again, slightly more noticeable on BTB, especially with lots of players in the game. - Player Spartan models seemed to lag, a lot. I’d often be looking at a teammate or an enemy, and they’d kinda just glitch forward or back a bit with lag. My connection was fine. I played with some friends and they experienced the same issue.Feedback:

Please buff the Drop Walls. I know they’ve been buffed since Flight 1, but I don’t think it’s enough. I’d still choose a Grapple Hook, Repulsor, or Threat Sensor over them regardless. I get they’re not the Bubble Shields of Halo 3, but I feel like they don’t take enough damage. I’d prefer them to be more durable, but even cutting the time it takes to pop up alone would also help. - Please find some sort of nerf to the Overshield. Again, I think a good solution could be to have it take time to fully charge up upon use, and if someone shoots at you while it’s still charging, then the Overshield simply stops charging up, thereby preventing it from being the get out of jail free card it is now. - I feel like the Dynamo grenade is a bit OP with being able to strip players’ health as well as shields. It didn’t mind it too much, but it’d be cool if it acted more akin to the Power Drain from Halo 3, and more balanced. - Please buff the Shock Rifle so that it’s easier to use against infantry. It’s almost impossible to hold it still for the full half a second or so it fires for, making it hard to hit players on foot. Maybe just make the beam a bit wider? - Please add more physics to the Gravity Hammer. Not necessarily Halo 3 levels, but I don’t like how it doesn’t even feel like it’s warping gravity anymore. - Please make it possible to damage enemy Warthogs from the passenger’s seat after hijacking it. If it’s possible to do so then I couldn’t figure it out.

Ghost splatter vehicle speed
A few times I killed, and got killed, but a Ghost moving slowly or turning on the spot. I just felt it was a bit overpowered at slow speeds. I would just spin in circles or hit someone gently while strafing and they die instantly. Perhaps at slower speeds, especially while stationary and turning, it could take down shields but do no damage or push you back a few meters instead of instant death form a gentle bump. -
Total Control Sound Effect is USB disconnect?
There is a sound effect during Total Control, I think it’s when you loose and capture a point, that sounds just like he USB connect/disconnect sound on Windows. Just made me paranoid the first couple times i played, was not sure what was going on, and I was playing on Series X! Haha. It’s no big thing but i imagine a few PC player had to do double take on their towers to make sure nothing had come loose

Scorpion Tank Driving and Repulsor
It felt different from previous games but it juts took some getting used to, it’s shame I only get a few seconds in the tank in each game, if I’m lucky, and then I’m mot sure how to drive it. Similarly i pi9cked up the Repulsor a few times and wasn’t; sure on how/when to use it best. Tool tips are ok but It’s hard to read thing in the middle of a game. As we have weapon drills, could we have vehicle and equipment drills as well? Though as I type that i realise the Campaign would serve this purpose.
Overall I got to say i loved BTB. Reminded me of crazy shenanigans of Combat Evolved on PC and some great times I had on Halo 3 but with the updated aspect and bets parts of Warzone. I’m itching to play more and can’t wait to explore more maps and have happy accidents in the sandbox, like destroying a warthog with a fuel cell.
BTB in Infinite is the most fun I have had since the early days of Halo 3. Its classic Halo carnage with a modern twist, and interacting with the sandbox is incredible with nearly INFINITE possibilities. I love how the flags change positions each time one is captured on the corresponding team, and Total Control is the perfect game type to incentivize players to use the whole map.
For feedback, I have to say that I would like more emphasis on vehicles. Specifically, the Scorpion, Wasp, and Banshee should be available sooner than the last 3ish minutes of the match, and they should respawn more often as well. I am also not sure how I feel about the Pelican drop offs being a huge announcement to both teams. This can cause everyone to stop what they’re doing and fight to get to the vehicle, which disrupts the flow of battle. Not to mention it makes it difficult for some players to get a chance to use a vehicle if everyone always knows when its arriving.
I do like the concept of ordinance because it fits well within the universe, but it should be a little more subtle or at least occur more frequently for the powerful vehicles.

First I would like to say I have always been a halo fan. Good or bad it has been my go to game of choice, during this last weekends test preview I found trying to play it difficult, the constant server lag when in a game, texture not loading correctly, game crashing, and lagging out while searching for a game, I understand that the flight is designated to test the servers capabilities however with the load this weekend it was not preforming well. I know there is still some months to go before release and not all issues can not be resolved before launch but servers definitely need to be one that needs to be fixed, the choppy movements at times, blipping through the map when you just clambered, melee registrations. I honestly hope to see more flights soon so we can help address more issues and test to make sure that the old issues are being resolved. If not launch in December will not be a smooth one.
The hog rides well and is quick, but the gun on it sucks. You have to give us a more powerful gun in the back if you got more guns on the field that can blow us up quickly. Come on, this is BTB, lets see some power…

• The gravity hammer needs to have more of a gravity affect pushing players and objects around more and even pushing yourself off the ground like in halo 3 also a visual current of gravity and the direction the hammer is swung would be nice as well
• The Needler would love to see the projectiles glow pink a bit more I can’t seem to see my needles traveling toward my opponent it’s the most unique halo weapon let it shine

• The pulse carbine needs a re-work it’s ineffective at range when the enemy is not standing still or moving two or away from your direction. Any side strife the boys do not connect incredibly infuriating personally I would love it if it did not have any tracking on it kind a like the plasma rifle. I don’t know what you guys plan to do with this guy in but please do something to make us want to use it

An issue I had during big team battle was that my character model would become transparent with weird white lines creating the outline of the details of the armor. It was really weird.
BTB was pretty fun with the control the rings mode , with Capture the Flag it needs a little tweak and so does Slayer but again my biggest problem was the performance . Now I know that with a RTX 2060 6gb , 16gb ram and a Ryzen 5 3600 i can’t run this game on Ultra 4k but at least let me run the game on medium 1080p . And i tried everything , turning V Sync off in game and even in Nvidia , moving my Max Frame Rate (I dont know why i thought to do this but it made some sense to me), and even reinstalling the game on an SSD instead of an HDD , didn’t help . Now the games performance got a little better when i turned my Geforce Replays off but the game still ran poorly . Now i don’t really care about FPS that much . I think that 60 is just enough since I only have a 60 hz monitor but what is really a bad thing is when the game Stutters and Lags to the point that i need to restart the game . Now i have also noticed that the performance gets worse overtime and that really needs a fix .
Connection:
- Sometimes, pressing the Y button on a previous game’s after-action report won’t start matchmaking up again like it’s supposed to. Instead, it’ll say that matchmaking is searching without actually trying to put you in a game. The only way to fix this is by exiting and relaunching the game from the Xbox dashboard.

Daily XP throttling is pretty rough. Up to 4 matches to hack 1 challenge felt not rewarding at all. - SBMM felt strong, providing mostly sweating matches. - Vehicles were difficult to counter on Behemoth if the opposing team controlled both of them. Leading to a snowball to defeat.Weapons:

AR: A bit too strong at mid range. Less of a factor on BTB but on the arena maps it was too strong, not pushing players to swap gear while playing. - Sidekick: Did not feel great. Weird rate of fire? Accuracy at range? Difficult to say. - BR: Awesome! - Commando: feels ok. - Needler: Maybe a bit too strong at close range. There is almost no counter possible with the insane tracking and ease of use. - Bulldog: Good but you really need to be within its effective range. - Heatwave: felt very weak overall. Avoided most of the time. - Shock rifle: pretty good! Nice utility weapons + the 1-shot potential is cool. - Sniper: Initial accuracy when unscoped should be perfect. Aiming did not feel great with a controller. - Skewer: impossible to aim (scoped) with it. Felt pretty bad. - The scope glint should be reduced a lot. Glint is fine but you should be able to aim easily at the other player. - Plasma pistol: really underwhelming. Need a lot of rework to make it relevant and enjoyable. - Gravity hammer: too may “ammunition” and kill potential. Kinda ok in BTB but on Recharge it felt really oppressing and difficult to counter. - Overshield felt a bit too strong. Shield wall was ok.Can’t wait until december!

Not sure if anyone experienced this but every time I mounted on a turret, I would get stuck! It would say “press b to detach” and I wasn’t able to detach until either 1) an enemy sniped me or 2) a friendly somehow ran a vehicle near the turret and allowed me to finally get off.
What I believe were some “issues” are semi minor
The plasma pistol is absolutely useless, it can’t even track decently either. It’s emp seemed random when hitting players and it can’t even emp vehicles, pretty much taking it out of a weapon sandbox.
the vehicles in this game are insanely weak. They seem to have little to no health. They feel extremely weaker than halo 5’s vehicles. Hell even the ghost takes as much damage as the warthog. The scorpion also feels as if they have no armor. The ghost feels extremely strong, which I don’t mind, but It feels stronger than most of the vehicles.
for btb it seems as the vehicles everyone wanted comes near the end of the game giving no time to actually use them. all it spawns are ghosts but it nothing else after.
for the most part, I enjoy all the weapons but some just seem inefficient, especially the shotguns. The heatwave and the bulldog feel as if they do not do consistent damage. They do not do “shotgun damage” up close which doesn’t make the shotgun that effective. The gravity hammer as well doesn’t feel right. With its slow hit you would expect an enormous radius, but for it to kill, you need to be extremely close for it. Plus it takes away its lunge so I can’t even get close for the kill making the gravity hammer kind of dull to use. If the gravity hammer had lunge at least then it would be a much more useable melee weapon. Everything else is fine
the drop wall is practically useless in term of defense. The concept is amazing but the actual shield Health is horrible. It takes 2 pistol shots to break a portion and a few shots to break it with an AR. It barely protects anyone and with its deploy time just makes it more of a hinderance than a viable option. The health of the panels needs to be increased to make it actually work as a shield.
the final thing that really needs tweaking in my opinion would be the method to double melee (and it’s range). It’s very easy to do and could be done constantly, in addition with the range of the melee, it’s like an instant kill you can’t prevent at all.
I got to play two big team battle matches and had a blast cause it was my first official games! Only think is after my two games on October 3rd I was unable to play anymore. I hope I get into more games and I already Pre Ordered so I’m so excited for the release and can’t wait!
Game is perfect. Loved every minute of BTB. I played probably 45 games, only once did it crash. Yes the game would not start a new match but that’s okay Had to quit the game then restart. Only thing I would like to see a improvement on is the Radar. I find myself never using it. cause no one really shows up on it. Weapon balance is great, but once getting killed the weapons disappear almost immediately. The game modes are great. Can’t wait for Halo Infinite to drop. Thank you 343 for all your hard work!
