Xbox series X
Had a few games where the map didnʻt load in. I was glitched out in the playlist menu or I did load into the map and was facing a wall and couldnʻt move or do anything.
The successful games were a ton of fun and felt very Halo if that makes sense. Might be one of the best Halo games, but I am really interested to see how the competitive modes and tournaments are handled.
The game crashes when i play too much BTB, everything is working and suddenly the game frozes more and more until it crashes.

Yeah, in previous Halo titles the damage of a vehicle was much more visible, it was clear how damaged a warthog, ghost or banshee was. Here it’s hardly noticable. I was entering a still good looking ghost and a few seconds later it exploded.
I’ve played over 10 games of BTB now and haven’t seen a tank even one time…
The 4v4 arena is fantastic in infinite but BTB needs a lot of work in my opinion.
I think a lot of the changes made to BTB for infinite have made the mode far more RNG based.
My main grips are:
-Heavy vehicles are rare/none-existant. 343 could address this by spawning vehicles at bases like in legacy. But have the pelican drops as well but not as often.
-Random weapons spawning at the weapon racks, loot caves and drop pods reduces tactical options and reduces the importance of map knowledge. 343 could address this by having set weapon spawns. This could allow planning pre match based off of map selection and decisions mid match based on how the game is flowing. Example, there’s a tank on point B. Well i’ll go grab the rockets that I know spawns at this location. That cannot be done with random weapons. In Infinite it’s more, well I hope that there might be rockets here.
-Map size increase without vehicle number increase. In Halo 3 a BTB team would get access to two warthogs, a prowler, a chopper, a scorpion and a mongoose on Sandtrap. From what I can count the BTB map we have played only has one warthog and two mongeese per team. This means more players are on foot, which wouldn’t be too bad if the maps weren’t bigger in scale. I spend a lot of time walking to the battle rather than actually battling. 343 Could address this by giving players more vehicles to get from A to B.
I will note that these improvements are just reverting to the old methods… But I think these changes don’t really add anything apart from the “wow that pelican drop off looks cool”.
I just want Halo to be the most fun it can.
When the AI announces that a zone is being captured could it please tell us which zone? E.g. “Enemy capturing zone A” rather than just “Enemy capturing zone”.
On that note when the AI announces that a vehicle is being dropped off could it actually say the name of the vehicle. Why does it just say “Ground vehicle” instead of actually telling us that it’s a Warthog, for example. There aren’t many different vehicles so it cannot be many more audio lines to record.
And can we please control how much the AI talks to us at all? There seems to be useful information such as weapon spawns (not a fan of this as a mechanic anyway) and enemy attacks, and then chit chat such as when you pick up a gun, the AI might tell you that you’re going to ruin the enemies’ day or something. It just seems like I’m constantly being talked at.
Even if 343 doesn’t put the old narrator back into BTB, and they should, they should at least make lines for the English woman spartan leader (whose actual name I forget) along the lines of “5 minutes left”, “1 minute left”, and “30 seconds left”. The end of the game can kind of sneak up on you if you’re not paying attention to the timer.
Also, when power weapons and tanks/aircraft spawn on the map, they should be symmetrical. So one thing should spawn in the middle of the map or two identical things on either side. Like 2 banshees, 2 scorpions, 2 sniper rifles, etc. Not a sniper on one side and skewer on the other or anything like that.
I was in the middle of a great BTB round and the game suddenly crashed. No indication of anything wrong, it just suddenly ended and I was looking at my desktop again. This is the 2nd time this has happened this weekend. Only other comment at the moment - it would be nice to be able to view the server status (online, number of players, etc.).
Well what a turn around. Yesterday everything was going reasonably well…. today I had to give up trying.
Multiple game crashes back to dash, loads of server disconnects and when I did get into a game it was horrible. Players were jittery and vehicles just appeared out of nowhere. No damage notification to shields I just died without knowing I’d been hit. Watched someone miss a warthog by several seconds with the gravity hammer and yet it exploded way down the map. Still no after match results load, not sure if others get to see them.
On the plus side I did get to watch a good film instead

> But it really makes me not feel in control. And no, it is not my TV or setup etc. Have previously played countless hours of Halo MCC and Halo 5 with this setup, and nowadays Apex, all without any input lag issues in the slightest. It isn’t enormous input lag, but it is certainly enough to make feel not really in control during battles. Halo was always super responsive. I truly hope this is just the case for this test build.
Same. On the original xbox one and it’s a horrible experience. Xant wait to see whats it like on the xbox series X when I get mine in November. A lot needs to be improved. Shields, radar, Vehicles, aiming, and weapon spawns. Its good dont get me wrong I just wish that I can experience the game with no latency or lag.
My main gripe with this game are the vehicles. The ghost is wayyy too op and insanely hard to take out and the warthog is wayyy too weak. Let’s say your squad hops in a warthog (in hopes to drive to the enemy base and capture their flag) and boom three guys with ar’s all shoot one mag at you, vehicle explodes and your whole squad dies but the ghost on the other hand can take the entire enemy teams fire and only lose a wing it’s outrageous not to mention it’s really easy to get splatters and kills with the ghost even for a new player.
Definitely some balancing issues with btb
also I only drove a tank once for five seconds because some raccoon stole it with no effort at all so I suggest having them spawn earlier in the match and having someway to fend off people boarding you or at least having the ability to jump out the tank while being boarded.
1 warthog per team is far too few for a BTB match. At least have 2 warthogs as the standard.
Also it’s about time flyable Pelicans were added to BTB.
The play times for these sessions are awful. Due to work and other obligations by the time I can log in I get maybe 1-2 matches and I am locked out. It would be nice if it was like the first one where you could match up all weekend.
Bug I found: When starting training mode if you go into the setup screen while the game is the cinematic intro to the match, I got stuck and was unable to move when the match started.
Background ranking. One of the reasons I don’t play a lot of Halo these days is largely because I tend to get matched with people that are far superior to me in skill. I constantly am getting destroyed before I even get a chance to enjoy the game. It is not fun at all for this to happen all the time. I can’t say for sure if there is something like that in place because I can’t get enough matches in to see the if the search results adjust for this. I also like to have a good game every now and then, and games that are super close, and games that will challenge me and push my limits but not every time. I don’t know what CoD did with Cold War’s matchmaking, but it has be the fairest one I have seen especially for a CoD game. sometimes I have great matches, other times the matches are down to the wire, and then I have some where I have to really step it up or get destroyed.

1 ghost per team at the start too and more frequent heavy vehicles drops like the tank
My problem is after a BTB it fails to load any further matches till I restart.
I’ve had occasional teleporting/lag (I think), with only one or two crashes from said teleporting. The biggest issue I found was when I hopped into a Ghost during Big Team Battle and turned while boosting. I couldn’t stop spinning (people with motion sickness would be feeling it) and it persisted even after I died. I think I was set free by shooting via clicking with my mouse (I normally use an Xbox Controller).

I never found too much trouble with the vague language for Zone Capturing, but more specific weapon/vehicle mentions would be appreciated. I fully agree with the setting for how much our A.I. (Heck, maybe even the Announcer) talks. I like the companion A.I., but I also don’t mind having them be less talkative. Having a setting like “A lot” “Sometimes” or “None” and giving us specific parameters or testing would be greatly appreciated.
When driving the warthog it feels very light, any little bump will flip you or send you flying. When colliding with other vehicles the momentum doesn’t follow through and most times both vehicles just come to a stop.
Ghost is fun to drive, hopefully get a purple one when the game launches.
Didn’t have enough experience with the other vehicles.
It seems like one side gets the Pelican drop way sooner than the other, and different vehicles will drop for each team. One time they said a Banshee was coming in and my side never got a drop.
Ordinance needs some way to tell where it lands as sometimes I will happen to be next to one as they spawn and then other times I never come across them. Maybe the AI can say ordinance is near or a more prominent audible/visual cue to point them out when they break.
Having only the Warthog and Mongoose at the start can make the vehicle gameplay slow until the Pelican drops happen. I hope in the full release more vehicles spawn at launch. You could balance it to where the higher tier vehicles are one life and will only be replenished with the Pelican drop.
I’m really glad that the Ghost is a beast. The machine turret is also really powerful and I find myself wanting to rip that off and only using it. Something I’m not sure about is if the machine gun turret and fusion coils respawn. It doesn’t seem like they do.
The Warthog needs a health boost. It feels like it dies way too fast before the gunner can deal enough damage.
Lastly, The game’s menus kind of lag out/overlap upon completing a match. My season progress bar sticks around long after I press the A button to close it.
