radar feels next to useless with how short the range is combined with player speeds. I don’t like that the shotgun feels underpowered. Commando doesn’t feel consistent. It doesn’t quite contend with the br, and doesn’t contend with the AR. I deplore scope flare, and armor highlighting. Takes any stealthy fun out of the game.

Yes, they have crossplay turned on right now. Hopefully something they will make completely optional before launch because controller players are at a distinct disadvantage against m&k.
It’s honestly a little boring and lacking in clear directionality. Alright, go fight over zones, cool. I don’t like that you can cap zones in vehicles though, you shouldn’t be allowed to.
Assault Rifle isn’t very fun to start out with, doesn’t have the range/utility it needs but simultaneously doesn’t get outclassed by the BR. Honestly literally just give us BR starts and we’re all a lot better off for BTB.
Vehicle drop-in via pelican system is, okay. But it takes too long. It’s also… really weird for a pelican to drop a flying vehicle.
From the grave is now a tombstone instead of a ghost. Is this due to Chinese censorship not allowing ghost imagery? It’s never fun to see something censored for an authoritarian government.
Although theres no player collision and therefore no friendly fire (which are 2 things that should definitely be in the game), you can splatter and teamkill with vehicles
I get the general feeling that the game was designed around Arena, and porting it over to BTB makes some things pretty visible as issues. Tweaks between modes are probably warranted.
Extension of Red Ret range for all ranged weapons (Pulse Carbine, Commando, BR) would be extremely welcome for BTB, especially with the dramatic increase in sight line distance. The Commando especially feels very… weak? It doesn’t seem to fit any real niche or have much staying power in BTB fights when the AR has that range and role covered already.
THE RADAR. Being in melee range and not showing up on radar is insane. At least for BTB, this needs to get extended dramatically. Players move to fast and the map is too big for 18 meters to be anywhere near enough.
Sound design is fantastic, but sounds muted like Halo 2 anniversary. Jack that volume up on everything and make it a bit more dynamic, and pair that with the Radar? You’ve got yourself an actually cohesive feel of the battlespace, something completely lacking at larger scale right now.
The Banshee and the Wasp could both use some form of shielding to offset the sheer power of the Skewer, similar to how Halo 5’s Mantis shields needed to be broken before a single Splaser shot would do it in. It may give them some actual longevity. They die fast as it is.
On the other hand, the Ghost is the single tankiest thing ever. It feels like small-arms fire does almost nothing to one unless six people gang up on it. That’s a bit much.
Grapple range could do to be extended. Doubling it honestly wouldn’t be a bad move, as the short range makes it almost a handicap in a lot of situations.
Scope glare is a bit much. Seeing it on everything all the time is sometimes overwhelming.
Overall, this is a great job y’all have done. Just tweak some things between Arena and BTB so that each mode makes the sandbox work for it, and you’ll be fine. At present, it feels like playing BTB with Arena-balanced gear. That can make for a lot of frustration, when the trick prior titles used was to find a happy medium.
Vehicle spawn balancing is not varied at all currently. I must have played 15+ BTB matches today and only saw the banshee twice, and the scorpion once. I assume this is because the stronger vehicles don’t show up until later in the match
I feel like I have moments of latency where my hit markers don’t happen until a half second after I shoot someone. Very noticeable in the bulldog as well. Sniper just feels like it had delay from me hitting the person to actually getting the hitmarkers/kill
I think the game sounds awesome. Weapons sound great and I really have no complaints here, not sure why some people don’t like it
Radar feels useless. It seems like enemies don’t show up on my radar until they’re already back smacking me
CTF needs to be adjusted. 12v12 on a big map and the flag only takes about 10 seconds to return, so you’ll almost never capture it unless you do it in a single run from point to point without dropping it. Almost every CTF game ends in a timeout, I think only a single game today ended in one team getting 3. I don’t think it needs to be longer, just easier to score. - Would really like to have Jeff Steitzer in BTB, not sure why this was removed - The weapons actually feel pretty balanced, I found myself enjoying using almost all of them
The way the CTF gets progressively harder and vehicles/weapons spawn in over time is epic. I think it really helps the games feel less one sided, and it makes a consolation flag feel much more attainable, even when there feels like no chance of winning.
I love all of the cover Fragmentation provides causing less long range battles and instead there are just smaller fights all over the map. AR/Pistol starts feels perfect for Big Team. The map is designed well from both gameplay and aesthetic standpoint, I love the bases especially as they fire when capping a flag. Tiny details are appreciated so much.
Total Control is a fun game mode, new and fresh and works really well.
The kong medal is a brilliant inclusion to the game! Just throwing fusion coils in general is hilarious. I wish they spawned back a little quicker! Every time I spawn at base I’m sad they’re not there.
Ive gotten lucky enough to use the banshee a few times now and it seems super fragile, it lost a fight to the wasp without the wasp even getting damaged too much and died very quickly to just normal fire another time I flew it.
This combined with the banshee bomb suffering from the same problem as the rockets where it doesn’t pack enough punch makes me think it needs a major buff before release asap
Is anyone else located in Australia having extremely long wait times with no games being found?
I’ve been trying to get into the actual MP of the flight but always end in an long wait time with 0 success every time, always ending with the “There may not be enough players to support a game in this playlist”, but when I play it through my friend I always get instant connection and games found
Are there any known issues with the Australia servers?
the wasp it super hard to take down if the player know what there doing. i watch a wasp shut down my team for 3min just buzzing people a tree top level.
I’m having a great time but my friends and I while in a Fireteam keep encountering game crashes, which result in us being banned for arbitrary amounts of time. I got banned for about 10 min while another from the same Fireteam was banned for over an hour. It’s been incredibly frustrating in an otherwise super fun gameplay experience.
The vehicle ordinance drops need a big overhaul, because the current system just isn’t working. Why are scorpions spawning in the last like 30 seconds of the game? That’s completely useless and isn’t fun at all.
They should either spawn earlier, or raise the slayer win requirement to 150 or 200 kills if the scorpion is going to spawn around the 90th kill mark.
Right now, having big-ticket vehicles spawning right at the end is just a complete waste.
I think may need to buff vehicles a bit more. They seem to get blown up very quick since everyone is running shock rifles, ravagers, skewers, very very easy to team shot and take it out almost instantly.
Possibly increase resistances to shock and buff health a bit
BIGGEST ISSUE WITH BTB RIGHT NOW IS THAT IT LAGS QUITE A BIT
mostly notice it when in a gun fight, it will lag and stutter in fights, no good, especially compared to halo 3. fix that -Yoink- its not good to experience
On PC I’ve had a total game shutdown tonight, no error, it just closed.
The mini-map seems unreliable. Teammates and enemies don’t always show up. It’d be nice if members of one’s squad showed up as a different color on the mini-map.
There’s a smidge more input lag, strangely enough from my wired keyboard not the wireless mouse, than last week.
Oddly, I am averaging higher frames than last week’s arena modes.
Melee seems a bit off too. Swinging at point blank and either the melee doesn’t go off or it whiffs completely, often.
