Infinite Tech Preview – Big Team Battle

It takes quite a bit too long for Heavy Vehicles and Air vehicles to spawn, and with twelve players a team, at least maybe give us a Ghost on top of the Warthog and Mongooses?

I think one good way to do this is to bring back the BTB Heavies gamemode. In heavys maybe shake up the vehicle spawns to get some real heavy-hitters into the fray pretty much right away, and boost up the required kills in slayer accordingly to like 150 or something. It worked for the old games, and it still works in MCC.

Also, Total Control needs some kind of rework. Almost every match I get into with the gamemode is just an unending stalemate. Maybe reduce the total number of times that Total Control needs to be achieved down to two, or better yet, just give us some heavier weapons. Let us seize power weapons and heavy vehicles to help try to beat the enemy team back into their base. I mean, the gamemode is called “Total Control”, shouldn’t it be about dominating the enemy?

Overall, I bloody well loved it. BTB is back baby, and it kicks -Yoink-.

The wasp and banshee both feel very weak and don’t do enough damage, the banshees especially. The map I feel is also to enclose for them and power vehicle spawn way to late into the game, usually only once

Loving BTB so far. There are a few notes I did take down yesterday during the flight.

-BR starts are needed. I faced a full team a couple times and it’s literally just getting shot off spawn and not being able to fight back with only an AR and Sidekick.

-I wish those loot rooms were less random. I always hated randomness in the game. I want to know what comes up and where it comes up.

-Piggybacking on the last point. I love the control gametype. But I hate how random the spawn points are.

-Again, the XP progression system is lame. I didn’t love reach, but it’s progression system was pretty darn near perfect.

So far I’ve noticed one main bug is that I am on an Xbox series x yet I experience crashes most of the time when loading into big team battle.

I really enjoy Big team battle. Fragmentation is a fun map. I love the addition of vehicles dropping down on random ocasions, but some of the vehicles feels a bit weak compared to the arsenal of the spartans. You got the grapplehook to jack vehicles, dynamo grenades, and shock rifle to emp the vehicle. The ghost is well fitted for the map, really nimble and powerfull. On the other hand, the warthog needs a boost in my opinion. Specially it needs some more weight to it. I feel like I’m loosing control very easily. The tank don’t fit this map at all cause the movable room for it is too narrow.

I think the circle around the action button (such as the one around “X” for entering a vehicle) could do some work. It’s kinda difficult to differentiate the regular circle and the cyan one that charge while I press the button. Maybe turning down its opacity could do.

my thoughts exactly. The distiction between social arena and BTB has definitely narrowed with the game as is.

BTB has been great the map is balance. All modes are fun, but do need a little work on each.

  • Total Control there are times where one team spawns really close and the other team spawn further away. Also there should be a no less than five seconds and no more than ten seconds after all points are captured before giving the point to the team who has capture all points. Distance between zones could be more spaced out. Also more areas were the zones appear. The zone sizes are prefect. The number of zones is also prefect. - Slayer spawning needs a little more work, multiple times not spawning close to team players instead spawning close to enemy. Or spawning on opposite side of the map from teammates. - CTF a distance from player when flag holder is spotted needs to pop up. There are times while having the flag you move very slow more so than usually when you have the flag. - All modes needs more chances to get the banshee, wasp and scorpion as well as the different types of Warthogs. Radar needs to at least 20m not 18m.Warthogs feel very lightweight, they flip to easily, heck the mongoose fells heavier. It would be awesome to be able to play more game modes on it. I hope to see a game mode on BTB where we use our AIs to gain progress in the match. CTF one flag both as one flag that both teams try to claim as well as one team defends and the other attacks. As well as a mode for multiple flags on map to gather more than the other team or teams, but you can take from the enemy teams gathering spot. Almost play it like strongholds and another two flags to defend and grab per team. . Strongholds should be added to BTB. Love the loot cave, but once a team gets it the other team shouldn’t be allowed to access it. The color should be the color of the team that claimed it. The door should be white or green when not claimed by anyone. The size of the map is great.

I partially agree. Weapon ordnance drops should be more visible, perhaps should use some small and range dependent waypoints on them.

And I want there to be traditional BTB as a separate Playlist. And keep infinite BTB as an option. I have things I love about both.

Definitely need to bring up the armor on the vehicles!!!

The last flights didn’t work for me. There was huge problems with what seemed like lag and -Yoink- controls and super unbalanced weapons. But this btb flight finally works correctly. I can really feel the game now and it’s so great. I love the physics. The equipment is awesome. the vehicles are perfect, love how you can move them in the air. The only really big problems to me is the challenges, armour colours and the sound design

I think long term challenges like you had in halo 4 I believe they were calld accomendations could bring a fun grind. I’d like to reference cod4 challenge system where you had intense challenges for rewards of skins, callsigns and exp.
We very obviously should be able to pick our own colours layout.
The sound design is cool but doesn’t place me in the setting very well. I can’t hear the enemies around me just gunshots and explosions. it seems that with the tiny motion sensor makes it kinda weird like there’s just like awareness.

Im playing on a extra decent pc so I’m hoping everyone’s troubles will be smoothed out like mine was.

You can sprint while holding the flag, I seen too many players on my own team just walking back (or at least trying to) with the flag and getting killed and then it would be reset by the opposing team. And yes the vehicles need some serious work.

Yeah the Grapple is the best addition to the game, I absolutely love using it!

Yes I know you can sprint but there are times when I have had the flag that I couldn’t and my walk speed was also decreased more so than other times I had the flag. I also have seen and heard my teammates point this out.

Big Team Battle is great feedbacks I would like to give is and we need a 25-meter radar in big team and probably still in Arena.

The ghost needs more visible way to show that it is destroyed it looks so similar to a non destroyed ghost.

I noticed that in objective game modes, the Scorpion will be dropped off in one base while the other gets a smaller vehicle. This made it so the games got extremely unbalanced in the favor of the team whose base the Pelican would drop it off at, and I’m wondering if it’d be possible to either drop a tank on both bases or maybe have a more neutral drop-off point for it, at least in CTF and Total Control? As-is the team that spawn at that base can very easily defend the drop point.

The timer needs to be visible. I can’t stand not being able to see how much time is left in the match. I just played a match where we went into overtime and I had no idea how long we’d been playing or how much time was actually left. It’s incredibly annoying, IMO. It doesn’t bother me as much in regular slayer matches because they’re so short, but I just had a BTB Total Control match go on for 20 minutes and it felt ridiculously long. I know it’s BTB, but that just feels excessive. Especially for a match that ended in a tie.

Vehicles are WAY too quiet. I’m playing with headphones on and I can barely hear most vehicles coming until it’s already driven by or splattered me. I think the Mongoose is the exception, I can usually hear that thing roaring along pretty well. But too many times I’ve had the Warthog and Ghost drive by and you can barely hear a thing.

The map we have to play on is OK, but at times I feel as if it’s way too cluttered. Even in Halo 4 and 5 I’ve felt as if 343i just hasn’t done BTB true justice because they keep making maps that are too claustrophobic. They’re big maps, but it’s all mountains, trees and hills which makes maneuvering difficult and it’s too easy for enemies to hide and hijack or stick vehicles. They have yet to give us a wide open spaces like Avalanche or Sandtrap, which are some of my favorite BTB maps.

Things I’d like to see in the game/change

Needs an “impulse-trigger” option for vibration.

The armor menu was locked in a loading stage for too long.

aim assist threshold needs to be extended, too narrow and slippery for players to keep on target.

Strongholds should NOT be in social slayer. Keep it in ranked.

Vehicles need more WEIGHT and HEALTH

Strafing speed needs be reduced slightly to avoid twitch-aiming situations.

Then there must be a bug or something that definitely needs fixing because I never had any probs sprinting with the flag myself. I do hope that they look into this one. If I were you I would submit a ticket about it because it’s a real problem that needs some attention.
