Infinite team still not listening, and Ske7ch343's response is evidence of that

6 years into the making, and this? this is the game that we’ve been waiting for? It’s sad to see how a very much praised game can turn out into a AAA moneybag scheme.

Every problem that 343i wanted, is implimented, armor coatings, monentization, progression, etc.

This game shows free to play is ruining today’s game. In all honesty.

I really don’t know how they’re gonna save themselves with all this fire (anger). Silencing the subreddit isn’t gonna help them one bit, it would be a catastrophe. They silenced the ones who has all the feedback, using “toxicity” as a excuse is just them pulling a guilt card, they don’t want us to yell at them for being so greedy. (“free” tenrai event, season 1 battle pass] [some halo reach armor is in infinite’s store]

If you’re perfectly happy with the way H:I is, you’re not the target audience for someone soliciting feedback. If you disagree that the OP’s sentiments speak for a majority of the community, can you provide evidence? Finally, while no one game will be perfect, it can and should cater to its core audience. 343i seems to be ignoring most of the requests I see.

Reach had some of it’s flaws, but ultimately didn’t kill Halo and while MP took a hit with stuff like the abilities and load outs they made tremendous strides in things like visuals, and forge. Campaign was okay too. I wouldn’t classify Reach as a pivotal downfall though, which is why I excluded it. Reach was the first to have bad signs, but it wasn’t anything that would warrant killing off its player base.

Still a good game, not a “EVERYTHING’S GOING DOWN!!! WAAAAAHAHHH!!!” type thing.

Didn’t lower the bungie-joints for the past few games…except the elites. (elite playability in custom games only and less customization.)

I see your post and raise you Act Man’s Part 2 on why Infinite is fun (Part 1 was him complaining about stuff).

Idk why people want to be so polarized about it.

i’ll start this off by saying, I hope i’m wrong but Ske7ch343’s responce is pretty sketchy to me, it seems kinda typical of any PR responce… I do hope I’m wrong, but as far as i know I’ve been giving pretty calm and not in anyway toxic feedback, and yes I am displeased with the current state of the game…

Free-to-play is cancerous, I agree. The praise comes from how incredibly good the game feels to play in the moment, and it’s important that we don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. The gameplay is good; the monetization that you correctly identified as baked into the game’s architecture is not. And it is intentionally done so.

Unfortunately, we’ve passed the point of no return for F2P models. They’re outrageously successful, and as long as players continue to buy into them, they’ll continue to exist. The only solution is to vote with your wallet and avoid playing or paying. Of course, most people won’t cut themselves off like that. So here we sit.

This was a fantastic and well reasoned post. They made this mess. They intertwined the absolute dog water challenge system with the slim playlist offering. They released the MP early. And THEY chose not to listen to a lot of our MAJOR concerns through the flights. We don’t want a sob story. We want honesty, an apology, and how they plan on fixing it. Simple stuff.

Well it’s not what I mean.

I simply ask that you all not make stupid assumptions. The foundations for a great game are there. However, it seems as though some people are beginning to moan over every little thing.

I even see some people demanding an apology. Really? What is that going to solve? It’s like they’re abusing their stance as a customer in order to get endless apologies for doing sonething you don’t like.

I don’t know man. This community just sucks sometimes.

Well, that was nice of him to at least say something but right off the bat, why would you not put this statement up on THE OFFICIAL HALO WEBSITE!!! Crap I’m tired of this!!! 343 you have to be one of the only companies that barely uses their official website  I understand there’s all sorts of social media but I’m sick and tired of having to go to other sources of social media just to get info when I should be able to get this info at the official Halo website!! I’m not saying don’t use other forms of social media but it should be put on here first and then everything else second. Honestly what is the point of having these forms if stuff doesn’t get announced here first?? Might as well close down the website in the forms and save yourself some money  I’m really just questioning why I even bother coming on these forms because we never get any information here first, it’s always Twitter or Reddick or someplace else before waypoint… It’s things like that that make people like me, who’ve been long time fans and been active on the form since forever! say things like "see that’s a basic thing!!! why wouldn’t you do that!!! …but I digress here.

I’ll admit, I’ve said and yeah sometimes I do say things like “I’m generally perplexed as to why they would make a decision like this” or stuff like this, but I don’t feel like that’s attacking anyone. Now, there are people that do say some pretty nasty things and I agree that’s way out of line. Like Ske7ch says, I’d rather have people be a little upset which shows me they care and are passionate and then no one say anything at all though. Couldn’t agree more!

So yeah it was a great message and I agree with a lot of what he’s saying but some of it to me once again is well, who thought these were good decision to make challenges with things that involve stuff like win three stockpile games for example… Then you’re lucky to get one in 20 plus hours??? You’re forcing people to play stuff which they don’t want to play!!! And by doing so in this case they don’t even play the objective which ruins the experience with people that actually are. So now you’re getting hit twice in the face because you have people that want to play objective playing with people that don’t want to play objective and you have people that are playing a mode just to complete a challenge that they don’t really want to play

Yes I agree that it’s better to have fewer playlists to keep them healthy but at the very beginning of launch you should have the opposite and see what the community wants!! Again, it’s something simple like who thought in the right mind that not having a slayer playlist on launch was a good idea?? It’s great that you have these other ideas of things you want to do with Slayer, amazing!!! Look forward to seeing them :slightly_smiling_face: but the Slayer playlist that people have known for 20 years should be in!! and If you want to make changes to it or evolve it over time then okay. It just seems like common sense to me! You don’t have to have every popular playlist at launch but people would expect something basic like Slayer to be there. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable expectation.

I can also say I understand that you made a system with the challenges and battle passes that evolve around certain playlists and whatnot but AGAIN it comes back to how/why did you think this was a good idea??? You’re telling me in your countless hours of play testing because I know you guys have done it!! that people didn’t have a challenge like play three stockpile games and went hours and hours and didn’t even get one !!! Where myself and multiple people I know have gone hours and hours and not gotten a single game type that they’re trying to get too complete some stupid challenge…like come on guys!!! You’re better than that!

I know you guys care and I know it’s hard to take criticism sometimes and can be difficult to hear. I totally understand this and I think the majority of people aren’t trying to hurt anyone’s feelings and I think the majority of people do understand that X or Y takes a lot of work and time. I’m glad you’re admitting that your progression/challenge system needs work, that’s good :+1: And I think anyone here that has half a brain totally realizes and understands that this is a business and you guys are here to make money. We get that, But when you take away basic things like colors!!! (Come on man it’s freaking colors!!!) And monetize them… that’s pretty bad to be blunt and that right there probably sent red flags to everyone. I definitely understand the whole x and y take a lot of work and you want to be rewarded for it (talking money here) better than most people as I have my own business and I’ve had it all my life, so I get it but you have to be within the market and the prices that you’re charging at the store for some of these armors compared to other games with similar things is outrageous to be blunt again. You would be far better off to just have every single piece of armor, weapon skins, trinkets whatever! available for single purchase buying at a reasonable price and go from there. If it means you have to maybe make them a bit cheaper off the bat to sell product, then you should because I guarantee you, you will make more money in the long run because of it.

So now I’m rambling a bit but it’s because I am passionate and I’ve been with this series since the first month it was out. In conclusion I appreciate you saying something, I understand people have worked hard for years to do X but when decisions are made that in my opinion and many others are clearly bad ones, like not having a slayer playlist in day one, well… What do you expect the reaction going to be???

I hope things get worked out, I really do! And I’m sure they will :slightly_smiling_face: … but unfortunately I think you’re going to have to take a lot of hits here for a while because this launch I think is not going to be one of the better ones… At least when it comes to multiplayer that is. I hope your story hits it out of the park though :+1:

PS You and the team and people should take some credit and feel good that the majority of people anyways, seem to be loving and accepting the gameplay. That should be a big win after a lot of the controversy you had with Halo 5 and Halo 4 so feel good about that!!! Because it could be worse, you could have the majority of community yelling at you because they hate the gameplay style :upside_down_face:

Y’all find anything to complain about lmao not to mention this entire post is actually so vague, it’s like reading what you described to be sketch’s response. You don’t make any real points here and you clearly are the one not listening. They’ve done a much better job than many companies at responding/transparency and no amount of conspiracies about how “they made it bad on purpose” will change that. Go get a blankie and take a nap.

They made it bad on purpose is more complimentary than the scenario you are implying, which is that they made it that bad on accident after 6 years of trial and error.

Most of that time was spent developing their engine and the story. The multiplayer is the best multiplayer they’ve released since Halo 3 and everyone’s crying about the customization as if that isn’t how games are now. They should definitely make it easier to get skins and stuff, but they also have to make money. Y’all act like making it free to play is no big deal lmao

Summary

Yeah a 6 year dev cycle of them putting out their best work and ideas forth, for us to end up with a dumpster fire of a game, doesn’t look favorably upon them as a dev team.

I still maintain my belief that it’s not malfeasance on their part, it’s just they are incompetent devs who can’t make a good game, solely based on their track record in previous Halo games.

You can’t select game types.
They cannot add slayer yet because the UI is limited and tangled with challenges.
Crossplay cannot be disabled. Cheaters are popping up more and more. The terrible challenge system is causing issues in MP since people don’t care about performance or objectives.
It’s the best since Halo 3? I am glad you are enjoying the game, but everyone has valid reasons to criticize 343. Saying otherwise is delusional.

The gameplay feels great, but everything else is subpar or downright bad.
They tried too hard to change core aspects in past titles, and are now trying to recover, but didn’t stick the landing.
The decisions they made are baffling. Three for three bad games.

Personally, I enjoyed halo 4 and 5, but I think they still need a overhaul.

Infinite? give it a revamp to fix the problems. no excuses.

Apologies are actually great in scenarios like these. There’s been tons of games that overhaul everything while apologizing to the playerbase and it’s only for the better

Apology for what though? The game’s free and the campaign is super good.

Honestly, with what I’ve seen, I truly don’t think they need to apologize any more than they already have.

The game’s in a great state save for the multiplayer. A lot of people like it.
