Infinite team still not listening, and Ske7ch343's response is evidence of that

And you coming here to instantly dismiss anyone else’s thoughts isn’t helpful either. It just draws more negative feedback.

Take a look in the mirror before telling everyone else they are “stupid” and wrong. You are half of the problem. Keep that in mind.

What, and their title can be something fitting, maybe, like. . . Community Manager??

I don’t know though, we wouldn’t want them to be expected to reply to every post.

We wouldn’t want them to have to write a dissertation!

How about they just write a big passive aggressive post every few weeks and call it a day?

And what problem am I apart of? I’m giving back the negativity they’re giving 343. Because in my honest opinion, shut down an entire subreddit full of toxicity is not censorship.

It’s only only fair, right?

Hmmm sounds pretty good but that title sounds like they are meant to manage community expectations, or keep the community under control.

That job description sounds more like the title should be Community Gaslighter.

I was hoping for more something like a Community Liaison, or Community Straight Talker

(I tried to run with the joke but my jokes ended up being more sad than funny)

Do you actually think, criticism of every other point of view is going to change their mind? Nope! It just gives fuel to the fire. That is the problem!

You too, should have every right to voice your conflicting opinion, but not at the sake of someone else’s. By all means, if someone is just spreading lies, call them out, but to shoot your mouth off because you don’t like what they said makes you part of the problem.

Where did I say he couldn’t speak?

This is a forum. Not a library. Lol?

Where did I say that you said they couldn’t speak?

You complain about all of the negativity, but bring nothing but your own negativity.

Also, are you laughing out loud or aren’t you?

Yes they had to change the MP formula to better suit changing times and fresh audiences, but there are PLENTY of ways to monetize a game without actively abusing your playerbase at the same time.

The very first iteration of the Challenge Dailies was exactly that, and so was the RNG Challenges. It’s atrocious. It makes players do things they don’t enjoy doing, and not doing so means no progression because you had to grind almost 15 games to even progress a little.

Second iteration is by far the worse. Yes, XP is now per match, but 50 xp is just a drop in the ocean.

Third iteration is much much better, thank god it came in as soon as it did, now progression is not all too bad, and you can at the very least gain 1 level per day with just 6 games.

Now lets talk about customization. You cannot utterly strip customization like this and still defend them. Core locking aside, the fact that you can’t even have the freedom to pick two colours to identify yourself makes the entire customization system moot. Who CARES if you can pick a variety of coatings when none of these best represent your Spartan. And is it so big of a problem that you just refuse to let someone be say, Seafoam + Coral?

What they SHOULD have done is given us a base palette of around 7 - 10 colours, and then sell us additional palettes with more varied shades and other hues. Warframe does this to great effect, and it’s 5 bucks per palette on average AND PEOPLE BUY THEM. It’s good, it lets people expand their customization collection, rather than force them to use combinations which they don’t even like.

Core locking. This one will actually kill 343’s monetization, and they caused it themselves. What they may be trying to do is “keep certain designs limited to certain cores” as a way to keep the Spartans you see in game sort of cohesive in each style. But people don’t care for that, especially in 2021. If someone wants to wear Yoroi Core + Emile EVA + maybe MK7 Shoulders, THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DO SO IF THEY OWN ALL THE PIECES. The answer is not to release an EVA “variant” for Yoroi like they did for last week’s Shop bundle. Now not only do people not buy it in protest, they will actually buy less of anything if they truly like a single core.

For example, I like Reach MKVB armor core. Oh this helmet’s cool, but it’s only “aesthetically fitting to Yoroi” so it only goes onto Yoroi core. Welp, looks like that’s something I’m not buying. And so on and so forth. This again is a thing for Armor Coating locked to core. If I want to wear Yoroi with Tiger Prints or Camo Prints, I SHOULD be allowed to do so. Who cares what I look like but myself?

You saying I shot his mouth off. E.g censorship and what not.

Anyway it doesn’t matter. This conversation is going nowhere.

You’re not allowed to have your own opinions on things according to 343. They know Halo better than you so you need to fall in line with what they are telling you Halo needs to be. Who cares if you have valid fears/concerns/suggestions for improvement. Welcome to the current year.

I didn’t notice most of the major toxicity from the main people in the subreddit, IE death threats and doxing, most of what I read was just angry criticism (which makes sense 'cause most of them saw Infinite for the skinner box for what it was) rather than outright seething hatred. I honestly believe that the MAJOR reason the sub got shut down was because of how bitterly critical it got of 343, since if the mods did their job certain bad actors could be easily dealt with, with the more toxic bad actors being a good scapegoat…but that’s just a theory…a GAME theory.

If you’re thinking it’s baseless then I’m afraid you’re the pushover type they want to market this game to. Every time a game dev has screwed up this bad and has gotten criticisms for it the respective subreddit either gets completely locked down or starts deleting posts to cater favor with said devs. If you think that’s not true then maybe explain why they can’t just step up and keep the toxicity out via bans/deletions but keep the feedback coming? I’ve yet to see a subreddit do that and instead always cover for the game devs

I’m not a pushover just because I’m on the opposite side of the argument.

Look, I’m sorry you’re disappointed, but 343 are all really great and they worked really hard and even though it was sooooo difficult, they did it all just so they could serve us players with the best possible Halo game. And servers cost money… don’t you want the servers to stay live? It’s obvious why it has to cost $1035 to get everything in season 1. Don’t you know about global inflation right now? Season 2 should probably cost at least $1500 to get everything. It’s only fair. The devs are working so hard under such difficulties that it’s just not reasonable to expect feature parity with games that came out in 2004.

Remember when feedback was actually constructive and didn’t just consist of, “Reeee! Me no like. Me angy! Fix!”

I’ve been a fan of all the Halo games, 4 was my least favorite, but there has NEVER been a bad Halo game. You shouldn’t need to shame people for liking something you don’t. Say 343i doesn’t deserve defending, criticize them even, but trying to make fun of the people with a different opinion that you is childish and moronic.

The OP was incredibly constructive with the criticism, I don’t really understand what you’re upset about here.

I’d assume there was a time when feedback wasn’t just awful.

In some sense, sure… Halo 4’s campaign was good enough that it’s not fair to call Halo 4 a “bad game”, and same thing with Halo 5 but with the reverse - the multiplayer was good enough to prevent the whole thing being bad.

However, Halo 4’s multiplayer is bad. Halo 5’s campaign is bad.

If you like bad things, that’s OK. I like a McDonald’s cheeseburger sometimes, even though McDonald’s burgers are bad burgers.

No, but the arguments you use to defend it seem to indicate that we should all just be okay with the current state or only provide very little criticisms IE just take it
