There are plenty of other games and developers that don’t have to rely on a free to play model that monetizes content previously included in a full release and artificially gates off gameplay elements like playlists in order to make money.

WRONG! I’ve been fairly critical myself. I just don’t foam at the mouth and interpret every breath from an over worked 343 dev as a slight against my basic human rights.
Game development is a wild and incomprehensibly complicated industry. You can talk all you want about what should or should not happen after a six-year dev cycle, which we don’t even know if that’s how long Infinite was in development for, but at the end of the day you, nor I, nor most of the people on the forums know exactly what happened behind the scenes.
Yeah, we know for a fact it’s been in development since mid 2015. The storyboarding and plot development took place in early-mid 2015, and upon release of H5, they immediately began developing the slipspace engine that H:I is built on. This development of the game began in 2015. September 2015 - December 2021 is 6 years mate.
Yeah I don’t know why some people are acting like we don’t know how long this game has been in development for. We know that. We don’t know everything behind the scenes of what kind of incompetence led to a 6 year development cycle leading to a Halo game that doesn’t have a Team Slayer playlist, but we know the development time was 6 years.

My anticipation has been reset, much like the daily store offerings! Speaking of, have you bought your $50 worth of cosmetics today? They just released a new daisy attachment for your helmet for $15, what a steal! The new weekly pack is awesome, a bunch of new, unreleased armor components! If you’ve not bought them yet, please be sure to do so, 343 need that money to pay for their food and to keep the servers up and running! I was agreeing with you two. I just meant it like they expect delays and resets to somehow ease our minds. Somehow reset production means they haven’t been working on the game for 6 years, just because they had to scrap it untold times.

I cannot WAIT to check out that daisy! I am more excited for new store items than the campaign, which at this point aren’t just a great value, like you said they’re STEALS!
I feel so empty and hollow when I purchase everything in the store. Why can’t they have hourly steals?

I would like to add that I’m glad that you all are reminding me so frequently in your posts how they need money to pay for their servers and employees. When ske7ch first enlightened me with that information I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with a great epiphany that there is in fact no such thing as a free sandwich. Foolish me!
