Infinite team still not listening, and Ske7ch343's response is evidence of that

They really should of gave us a base of RGB and kept cosmetics for more fancy effects and patterns.

Out of 208 messages I’m sure somebody has already said it but, no one asked for the multi-player to be F2P. The whole “It’s called business and keeping the servers up cost money” line is such a load of yoink. There are plenty of games that aren’t F2P and don’t have microtransactions at this predatory level that have reliable servers.

Except a main player who left can be. Sunk cost fallacy is real amd its what keeps people clinging to games till the end, even if the game is dog and burned away a good chunk of the plyaer base.

Someone else already nailed it, we figured out how to create long lasting communities and games YEARS ago. Modding and mapping have allowed games far older than halo to exist and continue long after the game has been out and official suppprt ceased.

This whole “games as a service” thing thats happened in recent years is garbage

Games as a service is a bastardization of the modding tools that the larger community uses. Only this time it’s used by the devs and not the modders.

Man if you’re this upset about a video game I can’t imagine how real world problems must effect you… Being passionate is one thing, being furious on an internet forum at others because they have a different opinion about a video game then you is entirely another thing.

Take a chill pill, we’re all Halo fans.

Personally I’m really happy with the game so far issues aside. I think this should be a time for celebration not toxic arguments over the Internet and pointing fingers.

The entire way you’re talking down to everyone is the problem, being constructively critical is not a problem.

That’s a pretty blanket statement. We’re still talking about cosmetics that don’t effect gameplay. In many other aspects they’ve been extremely transparent and honest with the inside infinite updates.

Trying to disvalue someone else’s critique doesn’t really productively add to the conversation

It’s still valid though. It’s an issue and they’ve said they’re working on it, my Spartan personally still looks awesome and I get that they lied, that’s not cool I’m not saying it’s okay, it’s frustrating but they also told the truth on the vast majority of updates they’ve put out over the past year, you can’t just say they lied without also aknowledging the transparency they’ve showed in virtually every other element of development…

Personally when I critique something I start with what was done right. That’s how you offer constructive criticism. So my point was it’s a blanket statement and it’s not entirely honest.

You don’t have to say anything good when offering constructive criticism. That’s just padded criticism.

Constructive criticism helps make the thing better, by offering means of making the thing better or pointing out specific things that are bad and WHY they are bad, rather than just complaining that things are bad with no useful additional information.

The fact of the matter is is that they let a lot of long term fans down by monetizing what had been a beloved feature of the game. You can enjoy the game. I do too.
They still did what they did and are going to receive criticism for it.
Saying you enjoyed something unrelated to the issue of controversy doesn’t make the issue of controversy exist less.
If it doesn’t bother you then great, but you are going to add absolutely nothing of value by mentioning gameplay when people are discussing customization
(The vast majority upset with customization also like gameplay anyways so its especially redundant)

Man there’s that buzzword again for people that can’t seem to fathom someone dislikes what 343 has done to the franchise.

I’ve never once said anything derogatory or hateful towards anyone on here, you have your wires crossed mate.

It’s funny you think I’m mad about this. I don’t understand how you guys as a whole, can’t tell the difference between anger and disappointment.

I’m allowed for voice my opinion just as much as you are. No amount of calling people toxic will change that. The only thing that serves is to keep outing up walls towards players, who are not the issue here. The issue is the incompetence of 343, and their proven track record of being poor game devs.

Agree to disagree. If you want to focus on the negative enjoy. I’ll sit over here and enjoy my game and focus on both what I like and what can be improved.

You literally called someone a “petulant child” a moment ago.

No-one is telling you not to enjoy the game just because they have a grievance with it that you don’t.
If it doesn’t concern you then it doesn’t concern you. You will gain nothing by echoing against a sentiment you don’t share.

I’m not arguing with you. I get it, it’s a difference of how we voice opinion. And as I’ve gotten older I’ve found that the best way to critique is to lead with what works because it gives context and it makes it easier for most to digest. 343, the developers are people and they get a lot of flack.

Again, I stated he was acting like one. That’s a far cry from saying @ZealotSangheili you’re a petulant child.

Please do try and keep up. I can and will speak condescendingly to people when they twist my words to suit their own narrative. Nice try, next point please.

It’s incredible how you don’t actually look at how you talk down to people and recognize that you are the problem.

I mostly feel bad for the artists, they’ve obviously poured their heart and souls into the game, especially over the last year, and their hard work gets overshadowed by awful executive decisions and progression mechanics (or rather, the lack thereof). While I find his statement on how he can’t imagine that anyone at 343 wanted to launch without a slayer playlist incredibly absurd to contemplate, in my case, I literally CANNOT imagine a single artist there wanting their work to be relegated as a $20 store bundle that they probably already knew was going to be absolutely blasted.

So much hard work from people on the floor with their heads down every day, only for it all to be bundled within mind-numbing monetization schemes and utterly incomprehensible design and progression choices.

Maybe they don’t owe it to us specifically, but 343 certainly owes it to their employees to come clean with fully transparent explanations about why these things are the way they are, and what is being done to correct them, so that they can feel like their work wasn’t wasted just to make a quick buck off of people who clearly don’t value their money.

You need to learn to express yourself in a less condescending way if you want others to see your point of view. You very much have a tone of talking down to others and now you are doing it to me as well.

I used to do that and sometimes I still do, I realized I was the problem at a certain point and sometimes I have to remind myself of that. I hope you can understand I mean that very genuinely.

I get that you’re really passionate about this issue. That’s okay, but you fixated on the word toxic, and that’s exactly how you are behaving. Take a step back and talk to others how you want to be spoken to.
