Infinite Social Slayer thoughts.

First of all, I want to like this game. It is not far off from an enjoyable authentic Halo.

343 is still failing to deliver an experience that satisfies the Halo feeling.

I understand it is still just “beta testing”.

My suggestions:

Take sprint out altogether. It doesn’t belong in Halo. At least don’t let it be in the competitive part of it. Sprinting causes way too many problems. The maps seem smaller, there’s no way to keep a “set up”. Plus sniping is that much more difficult. I HATE sprint.

The AR needs to be toned down from distance. No reason I should be getting melted cross map with an AR.

Plasma/ spike grenades feel very off.

There is no need to have weapon spawns/countdowns to spawn. The good method of timing each power weapon is tried and true.

The Skewer is cool, but should have more than one shot. Especially if the beam rifle is not in the game.

Im not sure of the ranking system, so I can’t comment on that. I enjoyed the Halo 3 ranking system the best.

I will have more as the flight goes on. These are just some of my thoughts.

There’s a reason why H3 had the best multiplayer, and highest population. Use that success, and learn from it.

You could release a H3 anniversary today and it would absolutely dominate.

Also, the shields do not need to light up when they get shot… that’s just silly.

The BR should not have recoil.

I hate the AR starts, man. I get real salty when someone starts walking toward me, spraying, and finishing with a melee, it’s so scrubby. I’d much prefer a Commando start to comprimise since you have to be somewhat precise to hit someone with it

  1. Sprint isn’t getting removed. Get over it.
  2. The AR is finally a viable weapon. If you have good aim with the sidekick, you can still beat it.
  3. What do you mean by off?

Why wouldn’t shields light up when they get shot?

The BR already has barely any recoil. How easy do you want it to be?

  1. Why should I get over it? It’s a feature that’s never belonged in Halo. The reason it’s in is because of noobs like you.

  2. It’s always been a viable weapon. As a close range assault rifle. You must not be very good with it.

  3. The spike grenades are too powerful, sticky grenades don’t play like they should, Frags shouldn’t have the bounce they do.

I for one have always been a competitive Halo player. The BR in H3 was perfect. This one is not. Plain and simple.

The game on controller is -Yoink-.

The commando has aim assist built into the gun, if your on keyboard and mouse you will win 100% of the time with the commando.

The same people that want the AR to be used half way across the map…are the same people that say “OMG HALO SANDBOX WEAPONS…ITS NOT JUST BR!!”

Every gun has a place in the sandbox…the AR shouldnt be used across the map like it is right now in infinite

I think it’s safe to say that Sprint is going to be staying in Halo for now and into the future. I think that we need the mindset to change and alter in order to adapt and accept the change.

I halfway agree with you on the skewer, although if its going to have more than one shot the max it should probably get is 2 because it is a OHK anywhere as long as it hits.

It’s just hard to wrap my head around it! You know what I mean? It’s just not necessary for it to be in the game.

  1. No need for childish antics here. While the traditional halo movement had zero sprint, the gradual transition to sprint by default has made its way as a stationary implementation in this game. I feel the sprinting to animation feels slow, but this doesn’t detract from the gameplay in 2021.

  2. Again, childish antics. Remember, this is social and not competitive. There will most likely be comp starts with BR and Sidekick

  3. What are the sticky grenades not doing? I think the frags are a little too weak on splash damage. The lob throw doesn’t feel natural either. As a spartan, I think it should be more of a lower arcing throw and more distance.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Halo 3. I too like the BR in Halo 3 better. Maybe they can align it more with an H3 BR. This close to launch and I doubt it.

You realize you don’t have to sprint right? You are almost as fast as someone sprinting so sprinting is fine. I notice you like halo 3 but you realize they can’t just make a new game and have the same mechanics as halo 3. It has to be different or it will get boring just like cod making the same game in different eras. I understand that halo 1-3 are amazing games but they had to change things to make it different. Halo 2 got dual wielding and you could play as the ARBITER while Halo 3 got playable elites in multiplayer and forge mode. To put it simply I don’t mind sprint it was way worse in halo 5 and it adds a new aspect of pacing. I like the state of assault rifle but I never got cross-mapped with it and I cant cross-map with it (I hated the AR from halo 3 that thing was awful). Sniping is hard but that makes me want to get better at it not make it easier so people won’t destroy my poor head hitbox. Grenades do feel off and not effective as the starting grenades so there’s no need to get them. I like the countdowns personally as it adds conflict to get the weapon. I never played halo 3 ranked so I can’t talk about that. The shields lighting up when shot is a cool feature because you can see where your bullets are hitting instead of the whole shield lighting up. I do agree the BR should not have recoil but it’s still really good when you control it. Personally, I think we both have very different opinions on the game but hopefully this is something we both enjoy.

I completely agree with you on that one! It’s not, but where games are going.
