Infinite sits in the shadow of reach. Noble blue?

Wow the new book shadow of reach just got me hyped. When I first heard of it I thought oh here we go let’s release another mandatory novel for the video games plots. (the core halo4 story was easy to follow but some stuff made no sense without novel knowledge.) my initial reaction was 343i would use this to remove blue team from infinite and focus on cheif alone on zeta halo. Then I saw the cover art and my reaction was “wow fall of reach cover remade, John’s gen3 is so cool wait a minute are All of blue team in gen3?” the cover looks to be using 3d model renders of blue team in gen3 armour and if 343 made models they must be in infinite! Sure it might be just MP but I really hope blue team get a real chance to shine in a game Kurt’s knife needs a using guys… Speaking of knives blue team wasn’t the only spartan team with a slick knife using spartan, noble team had one. So with blue team heading to get halseys clone brains or research to fight the created, the possible inclusion of banished on reach are we gonna see lone wolf noble 6? Hopefully if infinite gives me quality single player dlc with Jun and noble 6 on a headhunter mission we’ll then 343 we’ll have my forgiveness, confidence and gratitude. So what you guys think this novel means for infinite?

Honestly I would only love a reference to noble team (more likely noble 6). If they bring back noble six, that would just ruin the theme of halo reach. Seeing his helmet on the glassed surface would be cool. If 343 bring him back, they would have to carry him for at least next 2-3 games. Which would ruin all the grief fans had while plying reach. All I hope is that this book doesn’t become a necessity to understand the plot of halo infinite.

Well, as someone who will read the novel, I’m personally fine with it if the novel helps set up the plot of Infinite - but unfortunately I’ll be surprised if they do that because of their desire, after Halo 5, to keep plots simpler and not lean on EU material as much in games. I hope I’m wrong.

Similarly, references to Reach in Infinite could also be seen as confusing for brand new players, if they’re intending this to be a fresh start - now that doesn’t bother me because my reply is “Well then if you’re new, read a plot synopsis of Reach online” - but they didn’t ask what I think.

Did you forget that he died?

Agreed. Looking at how they want the story to be simpler to the newer audience, I don’t think there would be a reference to the noble team(maybe in shadows of reach but not in infinite).

I think I have a compromise. If we fight on Reach, we battle alongside Jun,

the last of Noble Team.

Spartans never die. He’s just Mia.

In my opinion, any mention of Noble Team outside of “Doctor Halsey was escorted to Castle Base by Spartan A266 while one ‘Noble Team’ delivered Cortana’s subroutine to the Autumn” will feel unnatural to me. Even just finding the bodies or armour of the fallen Noble Team Spartans would feel like nothing more than fanfare. With the countless soldiers and civilians that were obliterated on Reach, it’s unlikely Blue Team will happen to stumble upon any characters we already know, especially other Spartans.
