People have been playing MCC for many years now, and I think the long time fans would feel appreciated if 343 gave them customization options such as coatings or armor to reward them for their time spent. Some things that could unlock these customizations could be earning every achievement, fully completing individual battle passes, and for prestiging your rank. What do you think, would you like this? What other things accomplished in MCC could be rewarded?

I don’t think FOMO should be rewarded. People will feel alienated on certain rewards only because they missed out on playing a certain game in the genre.
Also, where do you draw the line? Should I get special cosmetics because I earned certain achievements in the original Halo 2? Original Halo 3? Original Reach? I don’t think so.

/sigh
Lets think about engagement numbers for a second… we Want people to play Halo right? We Want there to be more player interaction with the the franchise other than just sitting around waiting to get invited to the next flight, so why not give incentive to engage in the other Halo titles? 1. It keeps players in the Halo atmosphere. 2. It might encourage new players to try the old games, and to build their understanding of the Halo universe. 3. For players who are already in MCC, it wound not feel as disappointing if/when they don’t make it into the next flight. 4. The rewards would be cosmetic so there is zero impact on gameplay. And finally, 343 has already done this exact thing with Halo 5… by reaching max rank you can unlock exclusive armor coatings and weapon coatings for Infinite.

I agree with you 100%

They did that with Helioskrill Armor in Halo 5 and Halo 5 rank 152 to Halo Infinite… Even if its just an armor coating like H5s rank there’s nothing wrong with bringing something like that from MCC to Infinite.
A coating for beating at least one Campaign on Heroic would be nice. It’s totally doable by most people, isn’t time limited, and doesn’t really make anyone miss out.
If it’s achievement based such as Halo 5’s Helioskrill was I’d like that, so long as there’s no time gate I’d back that. Maybe LASO can award something other than just achievements.
A reward for playing Halo 2 would be awesome. The fomo tears would never stop flowing. Lol

FOMO is the name for a phenomena where you encourage people to buy or do something for fear that the opportunity to get it will be lost, and you will have missed out. Hence, “Fear Of Missing Out”
a reward for doing something in another game doesnt meant it has to necessarily be temporary, and so FOMO is not applicable

This. I don’t mind specific rewards for specific things however not to a degree where the average person wouldn’t have it be possible. Halo 5 IMO is an exception with the 152 the reward because of the nature of Halo during that time.

I think there’s nothing wrong with status symbols. In fact it’s a Halo tradition. Ever since customizable armor was added in Halo 3 we’ve had Hyabusa, which required every skull, EOD which required full legendary completion, Rogue, which is a ranked reward, and Recon, which required the completion of several hilariously difficult achievements.
I think it’s totally valid to make a difficult-but-possible task the prerequisite for an exclusive reward. As long as it always remains possible.

I’m fully aware of past status symbols however this is a spiritual reboot. It’s a new start for Halo and some unreasonable past accomplishments outside of Halo 5 152 reward shouldn’t give you anything. I’ve been playing since the Halo 2 launch so I know all about the different rewards through the history of Halo.
I just feel like unrealistic rewards shouldn’t be added. I don’t mind rewards for beating all of MCC solo on legendary or even LASO. Where I draw the line is the “time in” rewards outside of Halo 5.
I can see v I Am Legends point . However, I have to agree with D Dawgy. The problem with 343 offering rewards for time spent in MCC is that if 343 implemented it, there would be an outcry from the general game population for more exclusive customization options to accommodate everyone. Stack on top of this, people will complain about being unable to get the desired armor coating or weapon skin for the simple reason that they are/were not able to fulfill the requirements for the desired reward because 343. would likely make it available for a limited time.
Also, regarding the Halo 5 reward, from what I understand, it was only introduced to boost H5’s player count by encouraging people to grind for a Halo Infinite armor coating.
As far as I know, MCC still has a reasonably healthy population at present, so from their perspective, there isn’t any incentive for them to put any further effort into developing and implementing exclusive rewards for Infinite in Halo MCC.

I suppose. The way I see it, the more people playing MCC (which for PC players new to Halo is the only Halo they maybe have ever played) the better. Having rewards for doing campaigns, for instance, helps people get acquainted with the universe and characters and weapons and everything. And having rewards for multiplayer keeps people playing MCC up to the launch of Infinite instead of just complaining they don’t get to be in flights. Also, by no means is anything mandatory, and it certainly isn’t really time gated, you can go back and beat the games on legendary whenever you want if you really want some armor coating. I think people are taking something like this a bit too seriously, sometimes things can be added in just for fun and flavor, and not EVERY single person needs to be able to unlock everything, as is the case with 152 in Halo 5. If you aren’t almost at 150 at least right now in Halo 5, it’s basically impossible to get that armor coating haha, but oh well, more credit to the people who earned it, who cares.
I want LASO rewards. I have done CE and 2 on SLASO so far and would really love a reward for Infinite.
Agreed. I mean if Halo 5 players are rewarded for 152, I don’t see why not to reward MCC players that have reached level 50 in ranked playlist such as myself.
Have the reward be something obscure and not something obvious to other players (such as en emblem element or nameplate) then rewarding MCC ranks/achievements won’t be as much of an issue.
