Heyo,
since I haven’t read anything official about this… is crossplay between XONE/PC planned or won’t they do it because of balancing reasons? I’d love to play with friends on the XONE tbh, not everyone can afford a decent pc.

I hope it happen for all community unite
MCC was apparently not getting the crossplay treatment according to Bonnie I believe. While Halo Wars 2 does support it. So we’ll have to see what they’re planning.
There isn’t much official information about Halo infinite in general frankly, but cross-play and the “play anywhere” service are priorities for MS in general now. So… It’s more probable than not I would say.

MCC is most probably going to be cross-play between Steam and WinStore from the get-go (if Valve allows it that is). The console cp treatment is on the devs wishing list though, so they might add in later down the line after making sure every single game works properly - like they should have done four years ago after all.
For MCC they said they’re not working on it at the moment but once the game is out there they will look into it if the community really wants it. As far as Infinite I don’t believe we have anything that’s been announced.
i hope it will be crossplay, at least for the campaign and as an option for custom games.
I hope so for custom games.
I’d not even stop at customs and campaign. Crossplay means double the players in online games.
I’m all for cross play, especially for custom games. When it comes to matchmaking; keep the ranked playlist separated for the competitive guys, but allow us the option for social playlists. This way we can choose if we want to search for games with pc players or not.
It’s nowhere near confirmed, but it is more than likely. If they do have it, chances are it will be it’s own playlist, which they would flight test first of course, like Gears 4 did.
I would be fine with it.
I played BF1 on pc using a controller and did very well with it. I get that they nerfed it down, but I was still able to be successful. I can’t see how using a controller on a console would be very different.
Crossplay is something any gaming company should consider doing imo. Epic games have already given there software as open source.

That’s the easiest way to keep your servers alive.
Microsoft as a whole is trying to do a “play anywhere” scheme where every device you own can play their games off their servers. As a result, I’d imagine there will be crossplay otherwise people on rare devices (or devices that are rarely played on, like a phone or iPad) won’t be able to play with others. Not to say Halo Infinite can fit on a phone (and it’s unclear how Microsoft intends to do this with all the various screen sizes and capabilities), but I think not having crossplay in future games goes against their entire plan.

Microsoft had problems with xbox players getting rekt in GoW4 by pc players. This may be one reason for them to not do it.
On the other hand, crossplay would assure longer game lifetimes, since there are more people that can play with each other.

Your latter point is correct and the former can be addressed by letting people optionally turn off cross-play.

Sounds good, I think it worked out pretty good in Rocket League.
Cross-play for Campaign, Customs, Firefight (it better be a thing this time around!!) For sure!!!
Cross-play for multiple player aka Ranked and Social… Better have an opt-in/out option or there will be A LOT of pissed off people on here and social media in general.

I’d never want it for ranked, as it would kill the ranking system. But for social mp and pve - sure!
