Infinite on Halo CE 20th aniversary?

On november 27th is gonna be the date when originally 20 years ago Halo CE released. With the recent new of Infinite being delayed to 2021, it would be a very cool detail to see Infinite arrive as a new CE on the same original date…
I wish it is the case, the best is having patience, and for those of you who say that the game is gonna be bad because it has taked too long, let´s remember that they will try to upgrade what Halo 5 did. Also, they developed around from zero the slipspace engine, a graphic engine normally lates more than 5 years to be developed, so I understand why this game has taken so long…

Would you be able to wait that long in order to see a good game from launch, no matter if Xbox losses a Juggernaut at launch, but make fans happy?

Yes and I think it’d be a smart marketing move.

As long as they don’t make the mistake of releasing it between Call of Duty Black Ops and the next Battlefield game, games that release sandwiched between those two get memory-holed out of existence.

Well Black Ops will already be out. But it’ll be the next CoD and then the new Battlefield since we don’t get one this year. But I agree. It’ll actually be an interesting timeframe they have to fit in. Not that they weren’t going to have to deal with that this year between CoD and CyberPunk.

I think a mid to late November launch would be smart for them.

Cool concept, however I don’t think it should wait until next November unless it needs to. We still don’t exactly know why 343 delayed Infinite, we can only assume due to graphics and maybe polishing other gameplay elements.

We’ve all waited for 5 years, so another year won’t make too much of a difference. It’s not like we have a choice right. They’ll release it when they feel like it’s ready to be released. Patience is a virtue as they say.

If the game were to release in November 2021, would they still be making an Xbox one version? The new console would have been out for a year and Microsoft has already halted production on most Xbox one models.

I really don’t care how long it takes to launch halo infinite, i only want a good game, i think that 343 didn’t think in the halo ce anniversary as launch date.
This is more a believe from halo fans but yeah, it would be a good idea to launch halo infinite on that date

I think their priority will remain to get Infinite out the door ASAP even with the delay, because the issue it provides the Xbox Series X launch with doesn’t go away with Infinite simply not launching alongside the system; the content drought for brand new and exciting AAA exclusives for the XSX is going to be a sticking point presumably until Halo can release, whenever that is (point being that I believe MS will opt for the soonest viable option instead of holding out for an anniversary release).

If the game truly needs an entire additional year of development time, then aiming for Nov 15 feels appropriate in terms of making the best out of a bad situation. If it doesn’t need that long, I don’t see MS and 343i sitting on the completed product for months when they know it will make a difference in how many XSX units are going to sell. March-May seems the likliest window to readjust to in my mind.

Hopefully they don’t maintain the level of silence they have since the dev update announcing the cancelation. An indefinite delay is never as easy to swallow as a precise one, and I think we’d all feel a bit more secure in knowing what they’re aiming at for the new release window as opposed to guessing.

We’ll all survive whether it comes out in February or December of 2021, and if they can give us something truly special when it does launch, it will have been worth waiting. Even if it’s a bit astonishing that it will have taken 5 1/2 to 6 years to finish the baseline launch version of the game by then (a real headscratcher and I don’t think it’s at all unreasonable to raise an eyebrow at this, but that’s- literally- another topic).

No way they’d be dumb enough to make us wait an entire extra year. 6 months max.

Of all games Halo has more staying power and would not be forgotten. I’m hoping it does not take them that long to finish it anyway. But I could see them doing some epic marketing for the 20 year anniversary.

I think it’d be smart to target a March release since there’d be very little competition (which means it could become popular more quickly) and it’ll still be close to the launch of the Series X.

They could do a big event or content drop in the CE anniversary instead, no reason to delay a game by a whole year three months ahead of its release

Good thinked, may be release a CE anniversary focused multiplayer (like remastering the old maps with the anniversary graphics).
I would love to it to be released on february, my birthday is on february 25th and it would be the best gift for me.

It could be in the same engine as part of a dlc.

I stated this another thread that asked when we thought it would release. My guess was the 20th anniversary. That would be the 15th of November 2021 here in the UK. I would release it then. Another year and a bit also gives them plenty more time.

That would be a good idea plus lot more time to smooth things out and add what they need.
