Player count is a metric, you use it to measure how many people like the game. It is feedback,19.9995 million out of 20 million people don’t like the game. We’ve been posting game changes and feedback for months with no avail, so now it’s time to measure how long the game will last with minimal changes.
it’s not a new engine, it’s a frankenstein engine, and those are the numbers they’re giving us!
Standards. Simple as.
Oh, and if you gave me 250m and 3 years, you’d best believe I could hunt down a team of devs to create a game! 250m? Even HALF of the reported dev cost, can you conceptualize that?
I do not understand the defense. Of course we all want a good game.
“Have some appreciation we have a game at all?”
For WHAT? The $$$$$$$$$SHOP$$$$$$$$$$? The cool unlocks-OH WAIT? Forge-OH WAIT? The maps- OH WAIT? The co-op campaign- OH WAIT
(I apologize for the caps, I’m not mad just passionate)
The forced cross play? The cosmetic system? The ranked and social MMR being affected by matches with bots? The ranked MMR not being based on wins and losses?
BTB was broken for 2 and a half months?
The challenge system being super fun?
The lack of in-game lobbies or playing with the same team or being able to actually have enough time to ‘meet’ people?
10 years. 7 other full games to look at for comparison.
Perspective.
I understand getting tired of seeing negative posts but the reasoning behind them is not unwarranted imo
To be honest infinite right now bores me. And I’m not just saying that to hop on the complain train. I can’t customize how I want and progression system is a joke. Also BTB needs straight up vehicle spawns at base…pelican drops are random crap. I haven’t used the scorpion once!
No it’s not feedback.
You’re not saying what you don’t like about the game.
You’re simply saying the playerbase is dwindling. Which is true, but not to the extent people are implying.
As much of positive or negative feedback 343 are getting from the community is that we care a lot for halo and infinite isn’t up there as a good halo game. There are so many things that need fixing and things to be added to get to that pont of a good halo game. At the moment its not bad but it needs to be better.
I still don’t understand how 343 can have the MCC being that good with content, customizations not locked behind paywalls. You can clearly see the difference between a paid game and a f2p game.
One thing that annoys me is that it took 6 years for the MCC to have options in the settings for crossplay, input and server selection. Why didn’t halo infinite have these settings day one. Why are we still waiting now. Makes no sense how the MCC have these and they made a new game without them.
This isn’t a new issue either. This topic has been discussed extensively even since the MCC launch on PC, 2 full years before the launch of Infinite. It’s also been actively ignored by 343 and will continue to do so until I guess they fix every other issue. Could be years (or if ever?) before we get proper balancing, unfortunately.
As the great philosopher, James Hetfield, once stated - “Sad, but true”
They reduced sprint so much to the point that it just doesn’t need to be in the game. Just remove it. For God sakes they will go so far out of their way to not admit they’re wrong about something. Sprint sucks in halo.
If you actually read the starting post I said that people have been complaining for months now, im not here to type a literall paper on the plethora of broken aspects of the game (horrible progression, agressive store, awful lack of content) I was asking if people think the game would survive with minimal updates then you got defensive, because “its not feedback” yeah no duh thats not this thread.
They are going to lose even more players after today. They don’t know how to correctly address problems.
I’m not getting defensive. I’m ask you, why you’re concerned with numbers and not continuing the feedback train?
That’s all I’m asking. Why?
I wanted the game to be good. It’s not. And the most frustrating thing about it is, it’s not bad because the game is bad, it’s bad because the decisions that have been made are bad. I want to play with BR starts outside of ranked. I want to play snipers. I want to play on more than 4 or 5 maps. I want to be able to pick the colors I want to use on any armor I want to use. I want to be able to use any helmet I have with any other armor piece I have. I want to be able to feel a sense of long term progression. I want to be able to forge. I want to join games from a custom games browser when I’m bored. I want to play fun game types occasionally, like griffball or zombies.
These are all things I want to be able to do in halo infinite, that should be expected as just basic functionality of any halo that has released in the past 10 years. Many of these things are things that can be done, right now, but 343 has chosen to not allow. Some things I understand. If forge isn’t ready, then so be it. If a customs browser isn’t ready, fine. But I can’t even play team snipers, team doubles, change the color of my armor to something I want, or just something as simple as wear a specific helmet with another specific shoulder piece….
So, yeah… Those are my thoughts. I’ll come back in a year or 2. See what it’s all about after they’ve had time to add more maps and game types.
This is the best strategy.
I’m obsessed with player count because it’s a metric to measure the health of the game and how long it can last with minimal changes.
There’s a reason why Halo 3 in the MCC still has more players playing daily than Halo Infinite lol.
