Microsoft announced an event in July to focus on first party games, unlike the May 7th event that will focus on third party (meaning most likely no Infinite). They haven’t straight up said Infinite will be there but I think it’s a pretty safe bet.
Probably. I think a lot of us are expecting news on the May 7th when they talk about some launch games for the series X.

I wouldn’t. That event is focusing on third party.
July then. Hopefully early July…
just an extra month added onto the wait.
I think this “summer of games” thing is a good idea for the industry as a whole. What would have been a ton of announcements shown all at once at E3, is now spread out, allowing each game (and gamers) to have time to breathe and absorb every detail.
Showing the 3rd and 1st party game separately will work in Microsoft’s favor. Oftentimes I feel that at E3, the 3rd party games are overshadowed by the first party games- showing them first at a dedicated event takes some of the pressure off 3rd party developers.
overall, it’s a promising sign, splitting events imo, shows that Microsoft has enough exclusives to fill a press conference type event in July, and that’s good for all of us.

Exactly my thoughts. MS is showing a lot of confidence this time around, actually makes me excited for next gen.
I can’t wait to hear actual info on infinite instead of just speculation.
July news it is! I will be counting down the days.
Can’t wait for July spartans. I can sense some moisture in the air during this dry spell of Halo Infinite news! Just a little longer, we can do it!
July can’t wait but worried because I don’t know if the flighting program will be long enough because kinda worried about it.

Yeah at this point we’re only going to have at most 4-6 months of flighting, I don’t think that leaves enough room for big changes so most likely they know what is set in stone and they’ll just be able to change minor things based on feedback.
I’m glad we finally have a window of time that we know we’ll be seeing Halo Infinite in action during that time, but it’s also a bit frustrating because we’ve already been in a massive dry spell of very little info within a 2 year time frame and now we’ll be waiting a month longer than expected. It’ll most likely be a whole extra month of absolutely nothing or very little in the way info on the game, and we don’t have an exact date within July when we know we’ll be seeing the game so it could still be several weeks into July with little to no info before we get anything
I’m just so ready to see this game in action like the rest of the fanbase so it just kinda sucks that we gotta go a whole extra month before we get to see it
Finally the reveal of gameplay or anything Halo Infinite related is in sight. That’s a beautiful thing. I am really looking forward to what 343 has to show. Hopefully, it turns out that that water was a huge emphasis and we get water based level design in Infinite along with boat vehicles. Also, something tells me that this going to be the most expansive Halo sandbox Halo has ever seen in terms of vehicles and weapons.

Yeah I hope it’s early July. Would suck even more if it was mid to late in the month.

Its heavily alluded too that flighting for infinite has essentially been canceled due to the Rona. It most, its just going to be a beta to test functionality/servers

Mind sharing what gives you that impression? I haven’t personally seen or heard anything that would suggest 343 aren’t going through with their flighting plans for the game
Going more off of Klobrille’s response here https://www.resetera.com/threads/xbox-game-studios-ot8-ori-and-the-speed-of-the-ssds.176346/page-186#post-32704614.
Take it as you will, and of course, do not believe anything that has not come from 343 themselves. BUT, also consider the realities of development. Flighting becomes way less important to the development of the main game. At most, we would prob see a beta that is meant more for server stability (like most betas). Expecting something that’s meant to provide feedback on the Lvl of h5 beta (which even then, really was not that big when it came to changes) is kind of not feasible in my eyes given the strain of work life at the moment.

Well dang, that would be unfortunate because I know 343 talked about the players helping them make this game and no flighting means no player feedback from actually playing the game, which means no help from the community with shaping the current state of the game, but I suppose we can still help shape the future of the game from feedback given after the game releases, just most likely no major gameplay updates at that point
Still holding on to hope that things will continue as planned for the game, even though a few months of flighting doesn’t seem like long enough to make any major changes anyway. Might just end up having a normal beta like you said, guess we’ll find out within the next couple of months

Honestly that sounds realistic at this point
I hope they will show either a campaign or multiplayer game play teaser.

There have been rumors that some “community members” have been playing Infinite for a while now, but just under very heavy NDAs.
Whether or not that’s actually true is another thing.
What’s definitely true is that 343i is keeping Infinite, and their physical building, under heavy lockdown given that we haven’t had ANY real leaks yet. That’s surprising given the scale, hype and development length for Infinite.
