Infinite news if E3 2020 is cancelled

There’s.been many signs that E3 2020 was going to be the big source of Infinite news but it’s looking increasingly likely that E3 will be cancelled between companies dropping out and coronavirus. I wonder what approach will be taken for Infinite news if it is cancelled.

As of right now, E3 is still gonna happen: link here.

If it is cancelled i wouldnt mind a livestream from some devs at 343 talking about infinite’s release/features.
Health is more important than events imo.

I’d anticipate that if E3 is cancelled then Xbox will host it’s own conference, similar to a Nintendo direct. They’ve got a lot to show this upcoming E3 with Xbox Series X as well as other Microsoft Studios games, so I doubt 343 would do a separate livestream but would participate in a larger Xbox one.

For sure, that’d likely be the case. At this point, I think E3 is dying already, and this is where things are headed.

And since Microsoft has it’s own theater located where E3 takes place, MS can still do just about everything it wanted to do durring the dates of E3 because I’m sure by now press, streamers and gamers have already booked hotel rooms and made flight arrangements.

If the case is that E3 gets canceled and MS proceeds anyway with it’s own conference, it has the potential to receive more press as bitter sweet that would be.

Master Chief will not let corona virus get in the way of this, do you know what he has been through

They do that weekly Xbox show with Larry Hryb. Just do that but more grandiose and with a livestream.

I think its best people don’t gather around in one location even if E3 is not cancelled. This virus is spreading very fast.

I think, like many others it seems, That -Yoink!- will keep it’s own reveal event with a livestream for more publicity.

If E3 did get cancelled I’m sure Microsoft would just hold their own event or release everything they were going to show online like they are with GDC being cancelled.

E3 being canceled will change next to nothing. Conference will be in another place with no civilian guests just press for hands on booths. Xbox will stream same as it would at E3 MICROSOFT will save money and get the exact same value in advertising and probably decide E3 has lost its value and announce they aren’t going in 2021.

If E3 does get cancelled, I believe Microsoft would simply stream the entire presentation online.

Despite the fact that the Microsoft “E3” conference is in its own theater and not technically attached to E3, the vast majority of the media and fans who attend the conference are also there to attend the other conferences (Bethesda, etc) and the E3 show floor.

Microsoft would effectively be asking fans/journalists to travel to Los Angeles just for them and I think that would frankly irritate a lot of people.

An online stream is much easier/cheaper and I know Microsoft would still put on a great show with high production value, despite being obviously less “hype” than a live show.

A livestream of an event will likely be what happens. They still want to get the news out there.

I agree with this. Several of the large developers doing their own thing in recent years tells me they’re tired of sharing such a big spotlight, they’d rather do their own separate events anyway. I think someday E3 will cease to exist or at least in its current form as one show.

Definitely, though I do suspect they’ll all still continue to have their big reveals on the same week, just not everyone in LA.

Looks like we might just find out how the Xbox team will deal with it.

Seeing all the headlines from different sites now. I think it’s a little premature being E3 isn’t until mid June.

I get canceling it now, not only for the obvious health concerns but it will give companies plenty of time to come up with ideas to present news in an awesome ways over the internet.

With E3 now cancelled and MS doing their own digital event, I wonder if it’ll be around the same day they were originally going to do have their presentation at E3, or if they’ll move the date around. Here’s hoping we get to see Infinite sooner than we were expecting.
