Infinite needs to end forced crosplay. Its killing the matchmaking fun

its not only the xbox players that not wane play with the PC players its the same thing with the playstation players that not wane play with the PC players.
and since you cant play halo on the playstation you not see then complain about it.

in general is it more the console players both xbox and playstation not wane play with the pc players for the same reason.

Haven’t played in months but, the lengths people will go to not admit their not as good as they think they are is wild. Watch your gameplay back and learn from your mistakes.

I never said I was good. All I wanted was a opinion to choose for myself.

How is this relevant?

But your assuming a diamond 3 controller is equal to a diamond 3 mnk.
When the two inputs have drastically different advantages\disadvantages, your just taking rank assignment the algorithm gives at face value based on play when the two play very differently.

Remember when keyboard and mouse players want this in MCC, they got it, then they immediately figured out that it was far worse with it off since finding matches took literally forever to fill up. To the point they cried about forcing those of us that didn’t mind who we faced up against should be forced into keyboard and mouse only matches first before giving them to everyday matches.

Totally don’t lump me in with you peeps who started talking before actually taking the possibilities into consideration.

I’m still lost.

Except for this nebulous concept that they are ā€œall cheatsā€.

What is there to assume?

You settle into Diamond 3 because you break even with Diamond 3 players. You literally perform at that level of skill. You are stronger than players ranked below you and weaker than those ranked above you.

It doesn’t matter what colour shirt you are wearing.

Drastic. Really?

And in the end it doesn’t matter. The pros and the cons. They wash out in your final performance.

A Diamond 3 is a Diamond 3.

If your mate and you are exactly the same skill wise - but they change to an input that (supposedly) has an advantage - then they will rank up and start playing someone else.

I get that the inputs may encourage different types of play.

But that’s not completely tied to input is it? I’ve seen controller players who are excellent snipers. Other’s who are excellent in close quarters. Some who play aggressively. Other’s who are dirty filthy campers.

Player output wise, there’s no difference.

What you can argue is effort vs reward, how much effort is needed to get a specific reward. Maybe it’s easier to play on mnk, or controller. Not going to argue any of that.
In that case you’ll run into unfairities in ranked matches, where I’m all for segregating controllers and mnks.
For social, there’s not the same pressure or requirement to keep things ā€œfairā€.

Anyway, ranks used in this instance is merely to more easily portray the point, and make it relatable.

What’s being said is that regardless of input, a player will perform as good as they can on that input, and that will land them in a specific spot in the ranking / csr or whatever is used to match people. So, after players have played for some time, they start settling in around their appropriate skill rank.
A D3 mnk and D3 controller would be an equal matchup as their performance over time has shown they’re on equal level. Their match outcomes has shown they’re on par with each other.

Is the post about mouse keyboard vs controller or about PC and Xbox? They are 2 different things.

That’s why I find it amusing when people talk about maintaining balance when discussing the subject of load-outs in games, because the game developer Microsoft makes the game unbalanced from the start.

The Xbox controller that comes with the game gives you a disadvantage, while Microsoft promotes the Elite Series 2 controller as a way to gain an advantage over opponents who use the default controller.

The Elite Series 2 controller costs $230, which seems like a joke to me, but if you want to be competitive, or should I say just not lose as many gun battles, Microsoft has the solution, spend the money. The Xbox is a glorified overpriced DVD player, the least they could do was ship a better controller.

A friend of mine, she started on the controller, but also uses MnK, and she destroys most players using a controller, and that’s because her play style focuses on manoeuvrability, which on the controller is crap when compared to MnK.

If Halo Infinite was a better game, I might consider giving MnK a shot, but it’s not worth my time, and effort. The way the game plays now, especially after the last update, I don’t think I will play it much, it’s just that bad. I am having to quit out of Bot-Boot Camp matches because of enhanced stuttering, teleporting, desync.

I honestly can’t get my head around how messed up this game is, I chuckle in disbelief as I am typing, not because I like the mess and root for them to fail, no it’s just, how does a massive company like Microsoft, not a new player to the game development world, make such a dud, what an embarrassment, another colossal Cluster-****

The Elite Series 2 Core controller only costs $129.99 which is still on the expensive side but worth it if you are a serious player. You can always find it cheaper as well. (I paid $65 for mine brand new)

In Canada, from the Microsoft store, it costs, $220.00, on sale.

You don’t have the parts included though with the core controller and those cost about $60 separately.

I’m fully aware. The post is mnk vs controller.

I’m a casual player so maybe it’s just that I’m not very good at the game but recently I’ve felt like the BTB games I play are actually very unbalanced. It feels the same as when I play against all pc players on apex, running a console. I have a lot of experience playing against pc players from a console, and it just isn’t fun in my opinion. What’s interesting is that I perform much better in 4v4 games than I do in big team battle. Maybe that doesn’t mean anything but I just feel like something is off with the match making and I think crossplay could be a place to start. I’d at least like the option to disable it or make pc players less common in my lobbies, Like a preference of some sort.

BTB games have always been unbalanced.
I didn’t get XBL untill the X360, but boy did I play Halo 2 online, and the general rule of thumb for BTB seems to have always been that it’s likely there are a few players who absolutely dominate the playing field.

As opposed to getting steamrolled by a few players going 30+ who are on controller? Which happened frequently before MnK got aim assist?

BTB in Infinite is three times larger than the other modes, and seems to use a looser skill range when matching players. Atleast I’d say it’s also easier to find 8 players of similar skill than it is to find 24. Not that 4v4 always manages that anyway.

I’m sure people feel like that but it’s notable that this crossplay debacle reeeeaalllyy gathered speed after the aim assist implementation.

How is it not? It’s much more likely that op isn’t as good at Halo as they think they are versus everyone else they meet being on pc and also cheating.

Think about this logically.

Cheating is a topic that frequently arises in online games. Whenever I lose a gun battle, it may seem suspicious and my first thought is to accuse the other player of cheating, not online, just to myself, when in reality, there are other factors at play, such as desync, and inherent lag, which can affect game-play.
However, there are times when it is blatantly obvious that someone is cheating.

Unfortunately, just one cheater can ruin the game for everyone. For instance, during a custom game, I encountered a player who was in a warthog that had been destroyed. Despite this, the player walked away from it unscathed.

Later, the same player used a superhuman speed ability to quickly close in on and kill me. It was clear that this person was cheating and ruining the game for everyone. It only takes one cheater to pollute the entire game and take all the fun away.
