I’ve seen back 4 blood 10 times to none compared to infinite. I have never heard of, or care to be interested in back 4 boof. However, it just works. My father once said: “What happens when You don’t advertise? Nothing.”
I’ve seen a lot for Halo Infinite. From monster drinks to Pringles. I wish there was more commercials like we had for Halo 5.
Advertising can be done for more than just cinematic things on youtube or television and to be honest I’ve been hearing quite a bit of advertising for Infinite. Mostly in snacks and what not, but still.
I know the technical previews did wonders for getting people talking about the game but it’s still sad to not see more traditional advertising and marketing for the game this close to launch. Are they deciding to skimp out on that side of things because they’ve already spent so much on development or is a big digital and physical marketing push just around the corner?
There’s an Xbox event midway through next month so I’m just going to assume they’ll showcase the campaign there and that’s when the advertising will really kickoff, guess we’ll find out in a few weeks.
We still have half of October and all of November to get through, I would guess we’ll see a lot more promotion in the last couple weeks leading up to launch and post launch. Thats when it really matters… I do hope we get at least one live action trailer I miss those…

Those live action trailers were amazing.

We just need actual tv commercials, like the live action ones. Look how much advertising Metroid Dread got, and that is selling EXTREMELY well, despite only being on one platform.
No. Overhyped Infinite is a bad idea
- Infinite will organically trend at launch, which might also be a factor with delaying Campaign/Forge separately. As there will likely be a second wave of content creation and other hype train stuff thanks to YT and Twitch. - IT’S HALO
Back 4 Blood is a game that just recently released. Halo Infinite still has just under 2 months until launch.
What other game has ads and trailers everywhere months before launch? Basically none.
Marketing costs a lot of money and also has little effect if you’re promoting a product that isn’t near to release.
Even the most memorable Halo ad campaigns didn’t happen until a week or two before launch. Yes, even the Halo 3 live action ones.
Marketing will likely start around early to mid November. Enough time to get Halo Infinite on peoples mind and not bore them by seeing the same ad 50 times to the point were they don’t care about what’s being shown to them.
Just be patient, actual marketing experts are in charge of this stuff.
My son points out the Halo marketing at the grocery store, he’ll say “Look dad, it’s master Chief!”. Just wish I could play campaign with him on Dec 8 tho
You dont want to start marketing too early as you want it to be closer to release. Usually within a 3 week period as its fresh in th consumers mind for when the product actually launches. Given Halo is ftp and on gp. I expect marketing to be closer to that 3 week timeframe. I mean, its also be semi marketed for the past 2 years with all the 3rd party product campaigns
I want some more awesome live action videos like we got for Halo 3, ODST and Reach, those were great marketing trailers, but I agree, we will probably (and hopefully) see them in the time immediately leading up to launch. It is a slow build to create that fire, you don’t want to burn out too quickly.
You must have been living under a rock for the past few years.
I feel like the marketing team is being really restricted to avoid overhyping it after what happened with 5. That being said, games don’t always need trailers to market them. The Flights did wonders for spreading word of mouth, especially with older players. There’s loads of product tie-ins, but maybe people aren’t out shopping in physical stores as much these days. I also haven’t seen much from Forza Horizon 5, which is another flagship title for Xbox and gamepass this year. So who knows? I’m sure we’ll see something, I just wouldn’t expect to see Infinite commercials during NFL games or anything.
I just want more campaign gameplay to witness that isn’t from that abysmal demo from last year. The fact that it is the only real look we’ve had at the campaign which pretty much told us nothing about the story on top of what the leaks have suggested (which I obviously can’t and won’t discuss here) does not inspire my confidence in it.
Agreed with the people talking about the non-trailer marketing stuff. Big-budget trailers are cool but I do wonder about the actual impact that those have these days when a lot of folks straight-up don’t have cable anymore while also using ad-blockers on their browsers. Here’s hoping they use whatever marketing budget they have in some clever ways.
The game is 2 months away. Marketing kicks in a few weeks out.
Also, thinking Microsoft doesn’t know how to market things…
This is the largest marketing campaign I’ve seen in my life. The year long delay put even more items out than what could have possibly been anticipated from the usual toys and clothing to dinnerware, computer hardware, trading cards and god knows what else is on the way. The marketing for the actual game I’ll bet will be in full swing by November 15th…duh duh duh duhhhhhhh duh duh duh duhhhh (halo theme, no mocking intended)
November 15th they are releasing the final trailer, I agree there should be tv adverts/ YouTube ads. I’d love to see a live action trailer!!
