The innovations Reach made were great. 4 strictly ripper modes, abilities, and ideas from other games. Which is precisely what Halo doesn’t need. There’s a way they could make a Halo battle royale but 1, I don’t think theyd ever actually do it and 2, it wouldn’t exactly make a lot of sense in a mainline title.

To elaborate, I think the most obvious approach to a Halo BR would be an ODST drop pod free for all, dropping from a pod that can be steered to the desired insertion point on a large map styled as New Mombasa, with urban and rural locations, featuring various vehicles. Toss in Halo’s unique weapons as loot in the environment, starting with a magnum with one mag worth of ammo, an armor system for toughening up your character, and choice vehicles and you would have something pretty unique in the BR market. Styled as an ODST training exercise, with sick ways to customize ODST character models. We’ve already seen how cool that could look visually, given some of the unique designs on Dutch, Romeo, etc. The “storm” / closing circle on the map could just be covenant glassing beams or something.

That being said, it’s ODSTS, which would be an odd choice in a mainline title unless the BR was a stand-alone game adjacent to a main title as opposed to being its own, akin to something like Warzone in CoD.

You could make it work with Spartans similarly but the two main issues are that lore and immersion wise it makes a little less sense for them to run a training exercise that way, and the shield system would be odd to work around. Picking up overshields as loot is the most obvious choice, but you’re talking about very long time-to-kill in a game mode that’s sort of meant to turn into a pressure cooker over a short period of time with one wrong move resulting in a very quick death, and only one player or team of players walking away with a W. Shields and overshields run counterintuitive to that.

The thing is, I don’t even think they will attempt it, and if they do, it’s probably something that’s going to seem half–Yoinked!-. I would prefer that they just forgo it altogether and come up with entirely new game modes that we haven’t seen elsewhere yet. Or put new spins on it. It’s easier and sometimes a lot more innovative with less effort to put a new twist on something like plain old Slayer, game mechanics, CTF, etc than it is to make an entire unique battle royale.

If BR does become part of halo, please no grenade starts

-Yoink- NO

I don’t think Halo should have a Battle Royale mode because a ton of other games already have it. And, Halo has forge which I have seen in no other game and I don’t want 343 to ruin Halo by putting in a Battle Royale mode. And because some people don’t like that mode maybe they don’t want one of their favorite game franchises being ruined.

Ein Battle Royale Modus hat in meine Meinung nixs in Halo zu suchen das passt einfach nicht zu Halo ganz einfach ja

“In my opinion, a Battle Royale mode has nothing to look for in Halo, it just doesn’t fit Halo”
That is what he said in german…
But I will reply in english. What part of battle royale mode doesnt fit halo in your opinion? The one life thing? the large scale maps and player count? Elaborating will help us understand where you are coming from.

I agree, honestly if they bring back the classic king of the hill back it will get more play time then a battle royale.

Honestly if the classic king of the hill, and invasion from reach comes back it would get more play time and fit better in with the story line for Infinite.

Bring on a Halo BR F2P standalone mode or game. I’m all for it. Halo has a brilliant sandbox of characters, weapons, gameplay, vehicles etc that would really lend itself to such an experience. I do feel Infinite should be its own beast though, I’d prefer Infinite for campaign and something akin to Destiny PvE modes e.g. strikes and raids with loot and coop on sweet servers plus some story sustain.

No. Just no.

I dislike split screen and Warzone. However I would never want them excluded because I don’t like them, I respect some players enjoy them. Same with adding Battle Royale, there’s definitely fans of that genre that play Halo, why deny them because some don’t like it ? A stand alone Halo BR would solve that issue imo.

How wrong your poor poor soul os ive played halo for just over 15 years, and i can tell you we do not jeed that dying trend and how do i know its dying because fortinite took building away, apex is dying as well and cod well cod is killing its player base, if halo tryed it well it wouldn’t we play as spartens not marines or sas, again let me repeat it, it just wouldn’t work and ohhh yeah 343 already said there not doing it

Before you did too deep… you may want to google the announcements / rumours / leaks around Certain Affinity’s Project Tatanka.
