I do see the effort 343 is making to listen to community feedback and making necessary changes that need to be implemented before launch. The state of infinite currently IMO despite everything confirmed so far is a 6.5 out of 10. I know this is going to be a live service game and will be updated heavily through out its longevity so I believe it can get to the 9/10 mark which is sort of being grossly optimistic more realistically falling in the 7-8/10 range which is probably more plausible. Anyway very excited for infinite and 343 yet attempting another try at the halo franchise this time to hopefully come up with the best product yet… thank you 343 Bring on the next flight !

If the flight was representative of the multiplayer experience it won’t be below a 8 even if the campaign is average IMO.
343 is listening? They said that the red/blue outlines had “positive feedback” yet every third thread on the forums is complaining about it. LOL!

True that’s the one thing they not listening to because of monetary reasons but they said they would look into a toggle off option. But it’s still a lose lose for both sides of the equation so not sure on the design choice here in hat was implemented…. Oh well

This forum is not representative of the total impression given by the community.

Your opinion isn’t representative of the whole community. They sent out surveys and are collecting player feedback from all platforms.
This is not a hot topic issue and has generally been praised, especially as it is specifically in place to help improve accessibility.
They are addressing a bunch of issues that were contentious within the community which is great to see them responding to feedback. Even if some of the things they are changing I disagree with, it is helping build the game to be more successful and that is something I can definitely get behind.
I mean I would like a progression system, I’d wait longer to play it for that to be implemented.

exactly 343 wont listen to forums anyway. so

you got to make sure to file feature reports and, if you get one, put it on the survey
343 doesnt care what public forums think, they only care about the back end data. dont like it report it.

The whole “monetisation” agenda isn’t entirely accurate and doesn’t really relate to player outlines.
Outlines were implemented as a work around to colourblind players whilst also giving players greater ability to express themselves in game.
Anyone who struggled to see red or blue was essentially side lined from playing Halo.
Having customisable outlines brings greater accessibility to all. Even greater customisation too, my Spartan can actually be seen outside of FFA & Infection - two modes I never play.
The only “monetisable” factor on this is Armour Coatings. Which A are optional purchases and B it’s a free to play game - there’s going to be monetisation. Halo Infinite is a product. It’s here to make money. That’s the entire nature of video games, they’re products that companies make to try and make a profit from.
If you don’t want to make a purchase, then don’t. There will be plenty of free coatings available through the free BattlePass. That exact same free BattlePass will never expire either.
Wether you like it or not Halo Infinite has one of the most consumer friendly monetisation models for a free to play game.
The amount of threads you’ve made on this topic now is wild.
Outlines aren’t being removed, they’ll probably get a toggle post launch if you dislike them that much but for the vast majority of players it’s really not that big of a deal.
343i have shown such great interest in player feedback already. They have done since the games inception and the last flight and it’s even going to be the case for the next flight too.
or, how about saying “this game is mediocre” and “this game needs a ton of work” lets wait for the game to launch, see the state it is objectively in and then go from there.

this isnt entirely correct as i noted in this post in a similar thread (quote below), RvB was great in alot of ways for people with just color blindness, you could argue with sight impairments (like partial blindness) RvB isnt the best, but you didnt so were going with purely colorblind people. and for just color blind people they could have made the system work and keep team colors.
> from what i have seen (note i am not color blind so this may be false when it comes to how color blind colors change) the reason why red vs blue is nice is because “Yellow-blue colourblind people see RvB as Red vs Cyan. Green-red colourblind people see RvB as Gold vs Blue. Only people with monochromatic blindness (full colourblindness) can’t see RvB at all” so no matter what there was still a difference and for monochromatic folks they could have made a “heightened contrast” mode where it lets them change how dark and light the team colors were.
and for this part

I also think i bring up the valid point in my linked post that the only thing that is effectively changed is that you feel like you are showing off but in reality most players dont care what armor or coating you are wearing, you are just a set of outlines now to be shot at till dead and move on. no one is going to risk dying just to stare at dead bodies. most people will wait till before or after the match and look at you in a lobby. where you would have been in your colors anyway. Also the outlines make it hard to see the coating anyway as when in a fast paced match you eyes will be drawn to the glow more then the armor under the glow.

3 or 4 threads on an online forum with a population of active users being likely less than 5% of the total playerbase isn’t representative of the entire sentiment of the community. Unless you have the data 343 has you’re only guessing, they have access to all the surveys sent out after the flight, and maybe people as a whole just aren’t as bothered as the vocal minority on these forums?

i didnt get a survey, are they cherry picking the people the send the surveys to?

Unless I’m mistaken, you’ve brought up this idea of staring at dead bodies in multiple threads? You realise no one expects that to be the case, you can relatively easily parse what armour and coating someone is using in the several instances you’ll have a gun fight with them across one match without spending any extra effort to stare at them. It’s not really different to how things are now, if I’m consistently getting slayed by a player on the opposing team in MCC I very quickly learn what armour their wearing, and I notice when I’ve engaged them again before the match feed tells me their gamertag.

It was a random sample from the flight. Collating qualitive data from several, potentially tens of thousands of flight participants just isn’t feasible.

ok, then why people claim the majority liked the outlines? when only a handful got surveys?

How could they possibly know who is going to give positive or negative feedback? I didn’t get one either.

We don’t know how many got surveys, but it was probably in the hundreds, potentially a couple of thousand at most. Significantly more than the double digit amount of engagement points on these forums (posts/replies/likes). 343 will also have internal tests they’ve run, including QA and quite possibly usability studies. That doesn’t even include the fact that while these forums definitely skew towards not liking the outlines, it isn’t a universal opinion. And even with this considered, they’ve said they’ll look into further options post launch, they are aware that many people don’t like the system, just not enough that it is a priority for pre-launch fixes, which I think is fair.

what im saying is you cant possibly draw a legitimate conclusion as to whether the majority likes the outlines or not, and i have to agree with that guy, most feedback you see is negative rather than positive, not only here of course

dont know where you usually hang out, personally i see the majority disliking it, be it reddit, facebook, waypoint etc
