Hello Spartans
I only got Halo 5 just over a month ago and I am having a blast but I am noticing that it’s one hugely buggy game for a top end game for these days standards.
Firstly me and my brother spent a week doing MCC on Legendary for Helioskrill armor (we finished a couple of weeks or so ago) and he did not get it or any of the achievements for H1 or H2 despite me getting it, we’ve been told by other players to do the campaigns again which might unlock him the armor, 343i have been completely silent on this matter, been waiting since the day we finished MCC to get a reply from 343 or xbox support and all we heard was that xbox support would forward to 343, still nothing has been done.
Second I bought a few req packs which took 8 hours to show in my packs.
Thirdly for around a week I could not use any of my REQs in about a third of all my warzone games, seems to be sorted now but was still a massive pain at the time.
And finally now I bought the announcer bundle only to find that when I use one there is roughly a 10% chance that I will not be able to load into a game (I know this is not just taking a long time because my brother gets in with no problem and says that I do not show on the scoreboard)
I have tried many things, restarting my internet, restarting my xbox, I went a couple days using the default announcer again and had 0 problems, 3 games after I put it back on and I could not load in again, it has happened 3 times today alone, its ridiculous that something that cost me £8 of my own money stops me from playing 10% of the time and want to use it not only because its nice to be able to switch around but also because it cost me real money and it is not unreasonable for me to want to use it without it messing up the rest of the game.
For a top end game developer I really would have thought that 343 might have fixed some of these bugs or at least the game breaking ones before now
TLDR: Paid announcers are stopping me from loading into Warzone/Firefight games, any help much appreciated.
If anyone has any solutions I would appreciate hearing them and in the hope that 343 reads this forum post please get back to me asap as all these problems are starting to get on my nerves.
Yeap… I bought it when it was first offered, then one of the updates broke it. Can’t remember which one though. Sometimes I was hearing the default announcer (Palmer) and the custom one I chose at the same time. There was a bunch of posts about on here about the bug a while back.

The infinite black screen sucks. Never knew it was because of the voices of war req pack, it only happens to me occasionally though. I’d rather get a black screen sometimes than listen to Palmer’s voice all the darn time.

Yeah it seems to happen more to some people, for me it happens far too much for it to be worth it, I have just been told that it only happens in Firefight so now that I have finally finished my Firefight commendations I can go back to standard warzone with my voices, I will update here if I get the black screen in normal warzone.

Over the last 4 days I have had the infinite black screen two times in standard Warzone, much more tolerable than Firefight and could be unrelated to the voices of war.

Seems I jinxed it, straight after posting this 3 of my 11 games in normal warzone got the infinite black screen Will try putting Sarah Palmer on for a few days see if that fixes it
I was having the same issue, but turned off voices of war back to the default commentator, and now every warzone match quits out about 10 minutes through, it jumps to a screen with only a background image, i cant go back to main menu, cant close out, go to reqs, the ONLY way is to restart the ENTIRE game from xbox home. Its been doing this 3 days for me now. I have played this game since November 2015 and have tried to be chill and patient, as well as not grind an ax over every little nitpick, I have posted in a couple different topics in the forum threads to on avail, or even acknowledgement, and once again NOT HAPPY AT ALL

Are you playing on digital or disc?
I’ve not heard of this bug yet but it might be worth reinstalling the game if its doing it a lot.

I get the exact same thing, not every game but at least 1 DNF a day because of it. Then comes the warping around, one minute I’m on the top floor of a base the next second I’m downstairs running into a wall… It’s not constant though, just happens randomly. Some games are at least playable.

your situation sounds to me like it may be more lag related

Definitely lag… It appears to be a regional thing. Everytime I hear Spanish, possibly Mexico or Spain who knows, that’s when it happens. I get 2 shot killed by a BR. I shoot the enemy and all of sudden they warp 10ft off to the right and kill me… It’s just like it was way back when they first took region lock off because UK couldn’t get any games.
On top of that I still get the same splash screen you were talking about, with no warning halfway through the game. Pop the disk out and hard boot the xbox and try again.

I am also on disk, not sure what your problem could be
Will try putting Sarah Palmer on for a few days see if that fixes it
