So I beat Halo 2 LASO today and it has me thinking about Infinite LASO. From what we know about Infinite, I think this game’s LASO will absolutely outshine H2’s LASO.
- Halo Infinite will have the largest missions in all of Halo. Just from the little bits of campaign footage we’ve seen, it’s obvious that the sandbox is going to be ginormous. And a large sandbox is going to lead to a larger amount of enemies. With more hostiles to go against, we’ll have to push through a far larger wall than before. AND a far more intelligent wall… - AI Intelligence. Alright, so in this month’s I.I., Joe said that the ODST bots were basically outplaying him. If the intelligence of these MP bots is similar to that of the enemy AI’s intelligence, it’ll be a lot harder to abuse their AI. Impossible, no, but it won’t be as easy as before. - Less abuses. Alright, so everyone abused the hell out of the old Halo games for LASO. Skipping certain sections, despawning enemies with load zones, etc. But that was a long time ago, when gaming wasn’t able to have all that loaded. Now, with the technology and skill they have now, abuses such as those will be FAR LESS COMMON. Some will exist, but will probably be a lot harder to do or significantly more tedious. - Actually finding the skulls. Unless they allow players to activate all skulls right off the rip, just finding all of the skulls to even do LASO is going to be tough. These sandboxes are massive, and in these huge landscapes are some tiny heads. Happy hunting, I guess? I can’t think of any other specific reasons to why I think Infinite LASO will make H2 LASO look like a Grunt Birthday Party, so if you think you can come up with any other reasons, go ahead! Halo 2 LASO was challenging, but I really do feel as if we’re soon to be hit with something far more threatening.
