Infinite Lacking Unique Campaign Environments?

I’m curious what everyone thinks of the environments that were shown off in Inside Infinite. They are absolutely gorgeous, I’m just hoping that they are representative of roughly a tenth of the environment of the game. Looking back at Halo: CE, other than the three missions that return to previous maps, each mission is a unique and beautiful environment… sure you start in the Pacific Northwest basically, but then you go to a desert plateau at night, then an island with lots of foliage, then a snowy area, a swamp, etc. etc.

I’m hopeful that when they say Master Chief’s journey will BEGIN in this familiar Pacific Northwest Environment, that they mean we wont be staying there the whole time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving how the new environment looks, I just don’t want to buy a full game that’s actually just an extended re-master of one mission from CE. What do y’all think, will there be a bunch more varied environments on Zeta Halo?

I’m sure there will be. After the reception to the gameplay reveal I completely understand why they would limit the environments they show off now to the ones shown there.

I would be absolutely astonished if there wasn’t a variety of different ones throughout the game.

Nah, the look of the “Halo” level from CE is just the hook they’ve been using to win diehard fans of the OT. I’m sure they’ll deviate quite a bit in the actual levels and maybe even in sections of the overworld. They probably just wanted to give us an updated look at the environment that was so heavily criticized in the July demo. I"m confident that the next environment they show will be different.

I also say this as one of the biggest Infinite skeptics.

Yeahhhhhh as I was writing this I was realizing how unlikely it is that this is all just the same environment. I feel like I’m still cooling my nerves after all the stuff we’ve seen thus far… this update does look really promising. Would be really excited to see some other locations that are intentionally modeled after Alpha Halo… like it would make sense for there to be certain locations like the silent cartographer that are located on a similar island. Really want to see a swamp a la 343 Guilty Spark.

Yeah I got the sense there was a laboured point there

> As a prime example, we have specifically chosen to begin Chief’s journey in Halo Infinite within the Pacific Northwest forest biome on a new Halo ring, a deliberate ode to the past

I feel the word ‘begin’ is fairly emphatic there so I sense we will get to see multiple refugia as we know from the books that multiple environments do exist.

Took the words right out my mouth. And I’m also hopeful that we’ll experience a variety of environments to explore. Screenshots of PNW look beautiful!
