Infinite is the worst campaign in the IP's history. Not worth $60

This post pretty much sums up how I felt about the campaign as well. Absolutely not worth the $60 price. The entire open world is just meaningless padding in between the actual segments of gameplay, I found it absolutely tedious being forced to travel such distances through the empty open world from point A to point B just to finally get to the content. The world was bland and uninteresting after about 30 mins of gameplay…go here to do X, uh oh a group of enemies! Shoot them and get rewarded with a superhero movie quip! On to the next generic Ubisoft open world outpost!

Not gonna bother mentioning the absolute state of the storyline at this point, it’s World of Warcraft tier bad.

Graphically it’s on-par with games from 2 generations ago which is honestly fine with me but yet the game still runs poorly on a 30XX series GPU and an i7 8700k with plenty of RAM available etc. Disappointing in terms of performance. It does look decent enough though despite many effects not being as good as the older games(explosions etc.). No real complaints about the graphics, just the poor performance.

The worst part is that the actual gameplay in between all of the useless outpost capturing and empty world traversal is actually quite good(aside from about 70% of the weapons being objectively useless in comparison to the ar/br). Multiplayer is an absolute mess too.

This is the last new Halo game I’ll be playing so long as 343i is still working on the franchise. At least MCC is functional for that sweet sweet multiplayer goodness…It blows my mind that 343i put out that absolute gem and then released Infinite in it’s current state…

really happy i refunded it, literally looks like the first 3 hours is basically just the whole game
cant believe they made a giant -Yoink!- map and didnt even put 1 scarab in it

Still, Infinite already feels so dissociative from the established universe.

343i’s adaptations were at the very least cohesive and believable.

i wanted to refund but i’m really hoping for some good (and cheap) DLC that makes this travesty of a halo game worth my time

so far 4 was the best they made IMO, i really wish that 5 would have continued jul m’damma’s story that they started in spartan ops instead of killing him off straight away

More like started as the Reclaimer saga, then Halo 5 turned it into the GF Trilogy.

I was hoping for the Didact to return, will admit.

To answer the Cortana/Weapon face, its the teeth I think, they’re very British teeth. (they aren’t, they just remind me of that, but yeh The Weapon is endearing as hell, I agree, only hope they don’t give her Cortana’s name, and have her name herself Joy or Joyeuse, another sword of Roland reference and a distinguisher between the two characters.)

Hard disagree. Infinite is one of the better campaigns in the franchise, well above 4, 5 and even 3, which was a major disappointment to anybody who played 2 prior to its release.

if theyre gonna make a dlc theyre just gonna charge you more

I wouldn’t put it above 4. Halo 4 was a very good campaign. But I’d put it on par with Halo 3 and CE. It’s very solid. Not OMG amazing, but not disappointing like 5 and Reach.

I actually really enjoyed the story for what it was but after reading this, you’re not wrong lol.
I guess the return to original art style sucked me in. I did think ‘new cortana’ was adorable and was ready to just let 343 tell me this story they made for zeta halo. There’s also books that are a predecessor to this game which is why I felt like I was thrown into the middle of what’s happening. (Similarly to Halo CE…they just throw you into the universe and storyline thats been built)
Echo 216 was kinda annoying by the middle of the game. (I’m currently reading Shadows of Reach which tell the story of Blue team going back to Reach to retrieve ‘The Weapon’. It’s really good so far.) It’s definitely not replayable. The open world is 100% Far cry which is what I was worried about. But as a long time halo fan, you can’t deny the interior sections were amazing. There’s an area in the 2nd mission that was straight of out of Halo 2. The long corridors and moving platforms/elevators. I felt like I was back in Bungie halo again for once. It was kind of repeated over the course of the game but at least they’re finally figuring it out. Maybe that was a touch of Joe Staten. You have to keep an open mind while playing this game to enjoy it more. I’m a hater on 343’s halos so far so I think we’re on similar boats.
I don’t enjoy the MP at all but I thought the campaign was good. I’m hopeful for Destiny style Infinite DLC in the future

I am sure if yuo ever even dipped your toe into making a game or writing a story it would be less exciting than pong.

Any one on this post agreeing with anything you say is actually the funniest stuff i have read in awhile, you all should go back to whatever franchise you crawled from. Not only are you wrong but you are wrong at the top of your voice lmfao

LMAO i came from the halo franchise but now it seems this free to play knock-off indie game is taking halo’s name

Super mixed bag for me.

  • while I like Silent Cartographer (who doesn’t?), I don’t wanna play that mission for 50% of the game

  • the indoor missions are very repetitive and thus incredibly boring after you’ve completed one

  • useless vehicles in a lifeless open world

  • the interesting stuff seems to happen after the campaign so the current singleplayer feels like one giant exposition

There is a lot more stuff but this currently comes to mind.

Campaign wasn’t bad. It you can tell it was released barebones with missing features they intended to have

As far as the other parts of the game, it’s not the best overall Live Service game.
I pasted below what I think would of been a better way to have done the customization and store.

Honestly I think the store was lazily put together just to get it out the door. It would be nice to know if 343 even considered allowing played to earn credits in game and if so why it wasn’t implented.

STORE/CUSTOMIZATION!

Ok so hopefully someone at 343 actually reads this.

I know the way to fix the Customization and Store, that will actually benefit both parties. Ots not perfect but it’s better than what we have already.

I’m only going to be specific to customization and the Store.

Ok customization first:

We know cross core is in the works, that includes armor attachments, Visors, and peices… So I’m leaving that at at.

Moving on to Coatings.

  1. Armor Coatings:
-First let’s take the 60 default Colors from Halo 5, we had 5 of each color in 12 verieties. Take the first three of those colors give them for free as the standard default colors for all armor cores.

Take the last two rows of colors and make then unlockable for each core by using that core… Ex play x amount of games in MK 7 unlocks this color coating… Its still free but earnable. We like earning stuff.

Vehicle Coatings:

Using the same Coatings as above, allow players to unlock the default colors for armor but for vehicles, make it like a skill tree, where the player can choose which family of colors to unlock… Ex. I want the greens, for the Warthog… I go into the Warthog settings select the greens. And the challenges are like drive X amount of miles on the Warthog … this unlocks the colors progressively.aybe I unlock 2 shades of green. I unselected and select the yellows… You get the point.

Make this the standard for earning colors the default colors for vehicles.

Weapon Coatings:

Same thing, except maybe split the weapons between a get x amount of kills with and Get x amount of assist with as some weapons are support weapons.

Once you unlocked the colors for one weapon/vehicle/Armor Core. You get a cool reward. If you unlock it for all Weapons/vehicles you get something cooler.

  • 343 this means your going to have to make peace with the idea of giving up selling us Default Colors…

The Store:

Ok this thing it’s bad, that’s out the way.
Here’s the fix

1: allow players to buy Indiviaul items, bundles are design to give players a discount of 10-20% if they buy it as a bundle.

2: Coatings/Charms that you buy Universal. Players should not have to buy a charm 4 each time for each weapon/ same with coatings. This means when you buy a coating, you buy it once and.it works on every Armor core, even unreleased ones.

-I didn’t mention Emblems becuase those are techniqually Universal. It it’s how they do it that’s wrong .ill explain next.

3 Emblems: 343 puts emblems in bundles but counts an emblem as 4 items sot accross, Armor, Weapons, Vehicle, Nameplate. That needs to stop.
-Take enlighten Path: bundle was 1 armor effect, 1 emblem. Counted as 4 items.

Emblems will remain Universal but only counted as 1 item in a bundle and it only appears once in a bundle.

4: reduce the price of the bundles or load then with more universal content.

For example,

A bundle can come with an Universal( UL) Armor set, UL Emblem, 3 UL coatings for Armor/Vehicle/weapon, and stance.

For smaller ones make them themed around something.

Aka Vehicle bundle has 5 peices for vehicles, a Flag for the Tank, Turret design for the Warthog, window sheild for the bigger warthog thing… UL emblem/Coatings.

Weapons could be roughly the same it for weapons.
Make these things more interesting than 1 emblem and an armor effect.

This means 343 your gonna have eto get creative, you made this a Live Service now it’s time to fill it up like a live service.

For god sakes add the feature of earning credits through gameplay, Stop Being Stingey

Oh yea Also Progression is simple, just copy the one from Reach, and each rank unlocks that rank as a Universal Emblem. Seriously 6 yr development 80 million dollar budget, and you guys couldn’t just think of this.

I don’t hate 343 for existing/ not being Bungie or for creating Halo 4, but I am, in fact, disappointed in them for how Halo 5: Guardians turned out. Anyways, Halo Infinite had an amazing story: with Weapon being cute as all hell, the Banished being a newly re-formed variation of the Covenant under a dying leader, 216 being someone that is understandably annoying, yet likable… out of all of that, it’s great game. The thing that I’m not a big fan of is the open world aspect: it’s way too empty for what it is.

I think 343 not sticking to a narrative largely comes down to having a different lead writer each game.
