Infinite is hurting because there isn't a game coming out in the next 1-2 years

Halo 5 was a successful game believe or not. You’d also be hard pressed to actually find what’s better about Halo infinite. Gameplay is people’s only argument

What other argument does anyone need? Lmao

Yeah… that would be it. The gameplay. The gameplay is why Infinite is better than Halo 5. Feels like actually playing a Halo game again.

If you love Halo 5, that’s just fine - you do you. But it only retained a niche player base after a year or two, and that’s because it strayed too far from the classic Halo gameplay formula and design.

Are you serious? Without forge, infinite is one of the most bare titles in gaming. If forge wasn’t coming for this game nothing would save it. No new maps or new modes.

Maybe I’m starting to see the trend here, but correct me if I’m wrong. What was the first Halo game 343i actually made? Not counting the spin offs (Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: Spartan Strike, and Halo Wars 2). 343i made CE anniversary and Halo 2 anniversary but both games were already Bungie’s game just remastered. The very fist Halo game 343i made was Halo 4, right? I’ve been with Halo since CE, 2 and 3 and didn’t really like Halo 4. Never played MP in Halo 5 because of Halo 4, I think it’s safe to say Bungie made the best Halos.

Speaking of that, Sony just bought Bungie for 3.6 billion.

I’m confused how does Halo infinite play like Halo again when it has Sprint? If I wanted to play “Halo” again why didn’t we get classic gameplay?

Infinite would be a better game without sprint. But a +9% move speed bonus for sprinting does not negatively impact the gameplay to the same degree it did in Reach, 4, and 5.

Yes Halo 4 was 343s full first game. The story was on point. Everythingn else was horrible. Halo 5 was 343s true vision for Halo not obstructed by the chains of “what Halo should be”. Halo infinite is back to the same formula trying to please everyone at once and not creating the game in their own image like they should.

And if they don’t make Halo in their own image then it should be the way the old halos were

Doesn’t matter if it affects it negatively or not. It still doesn’t play like “Halo”. I always find it weird when people say this ays close to classic Halo. It doesn’t.

Thanks. Yeah I did like the campaigns in both 4 and 5, just the multiplayer was really bad in 4. I may have to try the multiplayer out in 5, just wish it was included in the MCC on PC.

This makes no sense. Sprint at +1% movement speed and sprint at +1000% movement speed are not the same thing. The degree to which it affects the gameplay is more or less the only thing that matters.

And Infinite tuned it down to the point it no longer destroys the core gameplay. They should have just removed it completely, but if you can’t tell the difference between Infinite’s sprint and Halo 5’s sprint, there’s no point having any discussion on anything related to Halo gameplay.

I agree. Halo 5 should be on MCC or at least properly ported to PC.

I just know I’m not speaking jibberish here. It doesn’t take a genius to see that Halo infinite is bare and that other games did it better. Yes gameplay is the main reason people play but what’s the gameplay without matching content

They should definitely add Halo 5 to MCC as it is a master chief story. If they did that currently I feel there would be another drop in infinites player count. Halo 5 wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either same with every Halo you will find some good things and some bad things.

I didn’t mind the sprint mechanic but hated the spartan charge/ground pound. Rest of the gameplay I didn’t mind. Hence when I saw the grapple thing in the campaign trailer I was like hope that isn’t in the MP unfortunately it was. That coupled with it being free to play made me wait to even download it and see what the community said about it. Low and behold as a whole most people aren’t happy.

Is this Volt? Did you just change your name to avoid people dismissing you out the gate?

lol xbox now has most game studios.

You aren’t getting the point here.

I do see the difference. Halo infinite is slower.

BUT.

In older Halos you weren’t sprinting around corners. You weren’t sliding to gain a speed boost. You weren’t clambering to save yourself from a fall. You weren’t picking up grappling hooks or even the thruster pack for that matter. You could have a fraction of a percentage affecting the game and it still doesn’t play like classic Halo.

On top of that it DOES break the core gameplay. People act like just because the truster is gone that advanced movement is no longer there. It’s there and people are using it. For example. Sprinting to clear a slightly further jump. Sprint sliding on a bank. Sprint sliding around a corner. Super slides. Clamber fake out tech. None of this was in older Halos and it’s not just one thing. It’s a lot of things. All of it adds up to a game that is unrecognizable as Halo. Sure. You can make the same argument for Halo 5 but let’s not act like Halo infinite isn’t taking the same route.

You can even see it in some of the posts that say this game is too competitive. That’s because the moment you Sprint. You are sweating. The reason why classic Halo worked for causal and competitive games is because all you had to do was move the stick forward to move. Nothing extra

Are you seriously trying to bring in other conversations just because you don’t like my opinions?

This is true but it’s also true that Bungie can make a platform seller, just look at Halo CE, Halo 2 and 3. I’m not a fan of Destiny 2 but it’s obvious many people like it, and it’s being played by more people on Steam than Halo Infinite. Again, I know the Steam charts don’t speak for all platforms but it’s a good starting point.

Lets see what Sony and Bungie have up their sleeves.

I do not agree with your analysis or conclusions on this.

Sprint and clamber shouldn’t be in the game, but their effects are minimal compared to Reach, Halo 4, or Halo 5, and I very much recognize Halo Infinite as the first real Halo successor to Halo 3.

I’ll say this. The gameplay isn’t the end of the world if I didn’t like it at all I wouldn’t be playing the game in the first place. It is smooth when it works. And thank you for seeing what I’m saying. I know I’m not talking jibberish.
