Infinite in free fall and how can we help save it

343 and infinite have a lot us on are last nerves and with covid stressing us out I can feel a storm a brewing with this game if it hasn’t landed already. I must admit I had take few breaths to stop myself from raging through this forum like a lot us I’m sure but letting loose on 343 won’t help. There halo fans like us I’m sure they care about the game and the fans it should go without saying but that’s were we are at now. This armour coating dilemma has us all panicking and scratching our heads the gameplay was a wee bit of a disaster and we feel content is being removed rather than improved upon and yet now have the catastrophe that is micro transactions on top. Is infinite already dead and buried before we even get a decent look at it or can we help 343 resurrect infinite and make it a master piece like it deserves to be and that’s what we want to help but will 343 take our advice or will infinite and 343 go up in flames. We must be constructive and not abusive that will go no were 343 hear the abuse they also hear the positives that’s fact just be nice about it. Then all we can do is hope and pray and no game is without its flawes perfection doesn’t exist but you will never get exactly what you ask for that’s not just video games that’s life lads and lasses give your advice then start praying that’s all you can do at the end of the day. One more thing just take a minute and breath before going in like Darth Maul when he sees Obi wan Kenobi. Keep safe lads and lasses and good luck.

Hope and praying has nothing to do with this, fans have been voicing their (constructive) opinions for the last 10 years, but 343 chose not to listen…

…and see how things turned out, free to play multiplayer, paid customization, 5 years of dev time and we know so little, trust me fans have been vocal, and they never asked for anything like that

I’m not concerned. I think the biggest concern that people don’t realize they have is that potentially having invasive microtransactions is reflective of the design philosophy. What I have seen so far of the gameplay and general art style is that the game looks fun. Halo 5, whether you liked it or not, late in it’s life cycle was filled with stuff requested by the community, and some stuff we didn’t ask for (H2 beam rifle and battle rifle, CE Magnum, classic armors, brute plasma rifle and some I’m sure I’ve missed). At launch, even, the original rocket launcher returned based on our feedback. Color customization had a similar problem to the coatings where the secondary was locked to a certain options based on the primary. Even if 343i is responding retroactively to our feedback, change is being made. I theorize that the silence after our backlash to armor coatings means that 343i sees that they have made a mistake, and the community managers simply have to resort to vague answers because the rest of the studio hasn’t decided what to do yet; they don’t want to clarify our fears if they eventually intend on fixing the problem. Halo Infinite will have some flaws, but our feedback is being taken into account. Things take time to change in a bureaucracy. Decisions won’t happen overnight, or in day, or weeks even. Longer will it take for us to hear about the decision made. If the November 9 leak is true, 343 has a lot on their plate to prepare, especially given the poor reception of their past reveals. Let’s let them take their time, but let them know that we want more to ease our minds. We have already waited five years for this game, and for those who hated the past two, have been waiting practically since 2010 for a new Halo game they liked, so concern that the game that looks like “the one” may be a flop in any major regard is understandable. The lack of response from 343 makes some feel like we aren’t being listened to, which is certainly not the case.

By returning halo back to its roots

We’ve been constructive since 2012 (2010, including feedback from Reach). All we’ve been given is token items that don’t change the fundamental issues (sure, we got some Classic Reqs, but the Req system still existed in the first place). We didn’t have a single one of Forge, BTB, Infection, and Firefight in Halo 5 at launch (to name a few). The story sucked. MCC was unplayable for 4 years.

This game was meant to be coming out within a month, just as a reminder, as a launch title. There should be very few vague answers, but instead, that’s all we have, spread out over a bunch of Tweets. If the game is only going to be fixed retroactively, after already 5 years of development, then I’ll buy it when it’s £15 in 2023.

The sad thing about Reqs was that it took months before we got then free packs. I can’t remember specifically so I may be wrong, but I we were missing daily login/daily win packs at the start.

it wasn’t the most horrible thing in the world but the fact that emblems were in reqs was just poor form. That coupled with the lack of modes like you said just punched in the gut. I’m getting the same vibes for this game due to their lack of confidence and transparency at the moment. We should have got more info months ago. There’s rumours we may get something on the 9th but that’s still too late to give us stuff. Sure info is info, but I just don’t think they’re getting it.

While taking a moment to think before posting is good advice (that everyone should follow) and construcitve dialogue is required for participation in this community, this will inevitably get swallowed by the slider discussion mentioned (as the past few comments have demonstrated) so feel free to use the existing thread for constructive discussion.
