Upper management pulling strings (Bonnie Ross) and slipping blame to devs and other. Check
Overly hyped and total dev time lied about. Check.
Promises that were blatantly made then gone back on? Check.
Content… Wait… Anthem kinda won there.
The love I have for Halo is deeply rooted in my childhood and growth in games; and the love I had for Anthem and hope for it are all too familiar. I’m worried with the lack of roadmaps and bug fixes. It reminds me of Anthem Grinding to halt with the lack of fixes and ideas of where to head.
So much is broken, so many things coming to light that it’s hard to have hope for the future of such a megalith.
My concerns are for keeping people around to create our own content, to have the same community we did on the halo 3 days.
That game and reach are looked at with such love because of the community. The fairness of games, the immersion with our friends. Now I find that I’d be happier playing The Survivalists then Halo, and I really miss halo.
This^ is what bothers me the most. It makes me wonder what else 343 has been lying about since they have no problem lying.
What’s interesting, when players like me posts things that are not of others “approval” as if I ever needed anyone’s. Some will try to defend 343 higher-ups deliberate poor actions by attempting to insult, or try to make themselves “look good” saying how negative players like me are.
The interesting part about it is that 343’s higher-ups have be treating them the same way and they have been saying thank you 343.
All 343 had to do is improve things from the existing content. Use what has worked and move forward. Infinite is a huge step back. Sure the gameplay is okay, but when that is all game has to offer, Houston we have a problem…
Wait… what are you saying?? 343 worked so hard to produce this game, and then they made it free, how could you possibly be so ungrateful? The core… begins to tear up the core gameplay is so good muccus drips from nose it’s so amazingly good… lies on the ground and begins to weep How could you be such an entitled piece of garbage to say such horrible things when they just GAVE you this game… with the CORE GAMEPLAY wails the core gameplay is so incredible!
You $&$&#&#, you vile $&#&$&#! How dare you threaten to break into 343’s house and make a mess of their pots and pans and kick their dog??! You ‘gamers’ are TRASH! Nothing but entitled TRASH!
incoherent screaming and a sudden episode of enuresis
I actually really liked Anthem and played it for years. The campaign was replayable and there were reasons to want to play the game such as flying around, destroying weak enemies, the open quest feature that let us sherpa young players, and maxing out my Javelin.
Whereas with Halo Infinite I haven’t touched it in months unless I was with friends. Lack of content and all
I have hope anthem may come back after DA4 drops. But we’ll see. I doubt it.
Infinite has. The chance to be so much more with just playable races and scriptable AI of all races in a good forge; the players could do what they did in H5 and create our own game modes, maps and longevity of the game.
With the three things I’ve listed players could make Thier own campaigns, imagine jumping in every week or so to play the latest episode of “ODST: Last Drop: Episode 16”
Or “Shri’ka: legacy of the Pirate Kings” a jackal story.
But I agree, halo is kept alive because of Microsoft dumping money and people giving it free advertisement
I truly do miss Anthem. The fact the game launched with barely 2 years of dev time and all the cinematics we’re mocapped in one take because of money really shows the dedication they had to the product. But the disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body (since I can’t say can - Cer. As one word) that is EA just wanted another horror story for an excuse to garnish money from the people
Hate to say it but @Rampage116 is right. No one is really playing any Halo game. I can’t even get into a BTB game on MCC. Hopefully people will come back to everything after season 2, which should bring some hype back to Halo (if not season 3)
