I never thought I’d say this, but…
Grifball needs to come back and it needs to be bigger than Rocket League. Imagine it with Repulsors and Grapplehooks along with special Armor Permutations; who knows the possibilities.
I guess it will take a while to come back since Forge will likely delay it a year.
But, if anything, it will keep a few players from leaving who get bored of the Arena meta quickly.
They can still out out stuff even if we don’t have forge lol.
Grifball variants have the potential to be absolutely wild.
I imagine Reach golf balls with basketball hoops, Repulsors and Hammers. Good times.
There’s the issue that 343i removed most fun physics features. Most importantly the GRAVITY hammer affecting -Yoinking!- GRAVITY

Cant argue with that, hopefully if they do lower gravity modes it send you much further.
I don’t think Griffball can work with the hammer animation and physics being like they are.
I agree that they will need to patch the Hammer, and we don’t even know how the Sword will be too.
Surely they will, it would be crazy not to. They do have that new “knock back” feature, so odds are they could just ramp it up to the max when they do add Grifball. A repulser + Gravity hammer combo would be absolute chaos and fun as hell.
My thing about grifball in Infinite would be that the grav hammer and sword will not balance well, just as the bulldog has a disadvantage against the sword.
This will surely be part of Halo Infinite with the launch or through people creating their own versions.

Fingers crossed it launches with it otherwise we’ll be waiting six months for it cause we’ll need forge to make the court.

Oh my goodness! I totally forgot about the game not being an entirely full game at launch… Oh no…
As for the gravity hammer being unable to work,
we could bring back the golf club and make it act like an original gravity hammer

343i could also add a new weapon specifically for Grifball. Who knows.

It seems bugged and inconsistent, but the physics are there
Honestly, Grifball is a pretty meaningless gametype and Halo doesn’t need it. Sometimes custom games should remain in custom games.

Bruh the gravity hammer has some range bruh, I am not too sure it would out like it used to
Grifball is a great game, but it will be trash with this iteration of the hammer.

Normally I would agree with you there, but it depends on how the Halo game is and how the variant is introduced. Grifball really is unique a variant that there are no games out that bring similar (re)playability.
I’m old school, so I loved Halo 1 and 2, but something about Halo 3 just made it annoying after a while. And, I can’t speak for everyone, but I would have stopped playing Halo 3 earlier without Grifball (to play more COD or Gears). The variant also held more population than both MLG/Hardcore and Team Objective, which isn’t saying much because A) Grifball playlist was never permanent and B) Bungie was never good at setting up gametypes and marketing playlists.
If the variant plays well enough, it could bring in more to Halo. For example, Grifball-specific players may try other playlists. It could even form a section in Esports. Though, this would need the Hammer and Halo’s fighting/movement mechanics to be consistent enough and offer balanced competitiveness, which in some ways is an oxymoron.
