Anyone else feel like the fact that we’re only a few months away from Holiday 2021 and haven’t even started alpha testing the game yet might lead to even more delayed release? I just feel like at this point in the year we should have had a few flights already and possibly even been starting an open beta by now.
I’m not to worried about it being delayed again, But after cyberpunk I wouldn’t mind it.
It would probably also have great effect on the community and any products they have coming out

I don’t mind the wait either after seeing what happened to Cyberpunk 2077. Take all the time they need lol

I also wouldn’t mind the wait either, looking for a good product over anything else. Just haven’t really seen anyone talking about it and we’re getting close to the end.
Isn’t flighting going to begin in the coming days? I also think making comparisons to Cyberpunk could be a bit extreme.
Phil Spencer has mentioned publicly they have a 3-4 week window and they’re just waiting for a couple things to fall before they make the formal announcements. It’s speculated to be the release of a couple games that is holding things up.
I feel very confident it’ll be here and we’ll all be playing it before Christmas if not Thanksgiving.

Can you post the link to Phil’s comments?
If we don’t get a release date by the end of August(gamescom to be exact) I can see it being delayed a few months.
It will release this year there won’t be another delay. Remember the first flight is simply a stress test and is from an earlier build it’s only a small slice of the game too. Guys don’t worry they have had more than enough time for this now. Its just a case of polishing it now.
I’m pretty sure flighting is literally happening next weekend and after what I’ve seen they’ve pretty much polished the game.
Thought infinite was past the alpha phase and what there calling these “flights” is in between alpha and beta tests? So we’re just before beta testing?

That’s a broad assumption, it’s very likely that internal closed alphas are being played.
Public flighting is what you might call a beta, but the way 343 conducts flights are not typical of the industry.
The public flights have a particular focus and are not really an alpha or beta. They’re targeted tests with key goals to gather focused feedback.
Check out the inside infinite post for July to find out more.
It is very likely that we will get a release date for Halo Infinite especially after the Halo Infinite Flights coming out.

Somewhere there, dunno exactly where
There won’t be delayed there’s be another event in next weekend
Just to clarify things, all, because a flight isn’t a “beta” build, does not mean the game is nowhere near done. From my knowledge, betas realistically don’t last very long, hence why (in the current gaming space) we see them used as a marketing tool. Them saying the flight is not in a beta state but also not in alpha, basically means it’s more than foundational testing but also less than a polished build. Their focus for the first flight is on server stability, so being any complete build is kind of irrelevant for us.
Also, all because the build, they are flighting isn’t a “beta” or “alpha” does not mean they have not been testing those levels of builds internally. This is no indicator of whether the game will be delayed or not (it generally wont and those that are assuming it will are generally doing so on bad faith arguments)

I agree with this. How long has it been since they released that first trailer that got everyone upset? I’m not sure and it’s too late as of this writing to dig back through the web, but it feels like it’s been a really long time. If we assume that was some kind of pre-alpha, then they’ve had a pretty solid amount of time to refine things. Plus, these new gameplay trailers they’ve released look really great so I think it’s really likely that we will have a nice alpha/beta build to test in the first round of flights.
Haven’t even started alpha testing? Have you kept up on news at all? 343 has mentioned that they’ve been testing with folks outside of 343 for a while now.

The point of the supposed flights this weekend will be for stress testing the servers, not testing the latest build of the game. On Julys Inside Infinite I think it was, they said that the first flight will be a pre beta build for testing the server capacity, but that the studio essentially has a post beta build they are still polishing in house.

Absolutely, considering it was already delayed a year at a great financial loss to Microsoft, there is no way it will not launch before December is over. The community would not stand for another delay, and Microsoft is not dumb enough to try another delay anyways, also the footage they showed at E3 2021 looked phenomenally better than their first reveal at E3 2020. They have got this, and we will all be playing Infinite by New Years.
