Infinite forge

How will in infinite forge improve on 5 and what old features should be brought back?

New, Terrain tools and ai and better scripting
Old, pre set map and pre set forge buildings

Forge is one thing I am most looking forward to. I’m hoping for an “Inside Infinite” that focuses on Forge soon.

God I hope we finally get AI in forge. It’s one of the most logical steps to take as a direct improvement to what we already have. Hopefully a lot of the forge pieces don’t look like smeared plastic either that just makes everything look cheap. I kind of hope it starts evolving into more of a full on map editor like Hammer or something, but I also understand that forge’s whole thing is also the ease of use and barrier of entry being small.

Forge is already impressive… but it should take a huge step with Infinite. Instead of being tacked on, this time it has been developed along side the new game engine.

Hoping for terrain editing and decal placements.

Holes (like doors or windows) to be placed in any piece would be handy.

Would love a 2D editor to allow quick putting together of basic layouts.

AI (or at least good AI) wouldn’t be easy to implement. That kind of thing relies on the algorithm having intricate knowledge of the geometry - which may be a step too far.

The ability to add ai and bits in forge would be revolutionary for custom games option. Huge supporter of this idea.

AIs in Forge would be cool, also ability the to have a simple forge like halo 4/halo reach would be nice.
plus pre-made areas like prefabs but from the campaign.

343 has said that Forge Infinite will blow us away (or along those lines) and considering how great Halo 5’s forge is, I can already imagine how insane this will be.

Well I think Forge will be even better than Halo 5’s forge. I think there will be an undone button now.

Forger here, I don’t want 5 style Forge. As revolutionary as it is, it’s way too hard to Forge on, with the controls being completely reworked too. The HUD was also very cluttered. I’d like to see one with the controls of 2A Forge, with features and objects of 5’s.

  • I’d also like to see new objects such as: - New shapes for windows - Structure blocks have different “skins” like going through the object menu and selecting types [example: Covenant walls, UNSC, Forerunner, Ruins, etc.] - Specific coatings selected for maps (like the vehicles on Avalanche) - New building prerequisites would be cool - Skybox changer (like if someone gave Boneyard the skybox of Spire) - Spartan helmets as scenery - More scenery vehicles - Pathing for vehicles, drivable or not (basically having a set path they can move around in, without player interaction, like in Disney Infinity lol)

As someone who rarely used forge in the previous games, I thought 5’s forge was easy to work with.

Also that idea of a skybox changer would be nice, good idea.
