Infinite Flight - Terrible random PC fps plummets

Unsure where to report this as the most recent news posting regarding the flight and the Insider program support page doesn’t seem to have a field so I guess I’ll just list it here unless someone else has a better reccomendation.

Can’t upload DxDiag so I’ll just post my general hard and soft specs below:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - RAM: 64gb DDR4 3600mhz - GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti (FE) - SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB - Win 10 OS Build: 19043.1266 - NVIDIA Driver Version: 472.12 - Display Resolution: 3840x2160 - All quality settings in-game are maxxed and resolution scaling is set to 100% with Borderless Windowed Mode enabled - V-Sync is enabled and Min Frame Rate is set to 60The only apps running in the background while I’m playing are Steam and the Xbox App.

My issue is that when playing the Infinite Flight on PC, my game will randomly and suddenlyplummet from a stable 60fps to between 6 and 20 fps. This frame rate remains until I disable borderless windowed mode and drop my window size down to 1920x1080. Even if I keep my window in borderless windowed mode and reduce the scaling down as low as possible, the frame rate remains the same (6-20). Turning borderless windowed mode off and keeping the resolution anywhere above 1920x1080 seems to net relatively similar results to just leaving borderless windowed mode on. Only when I reduce my resolution to 1920x1080 with borderless windowed mode disabled does my game resume a stable 60fps. Though there is intermittent hitching, it is not frequent enough for it to be a serious problem.

Returning to borderless windowed mode after playing for a while with it disabled and running at 1080p does not return the frame rate to a stable 60fps. Only closing out and relaunching the game from steam manages to return the frame rate to normal until the issue sparks up again.

Changing visual quality settings when the frame rate dips has no apparent impact on improving or worsening the frame rate. I don’t have a second monitor else I would try to see if moving the window to a second monitor alleviates any issues. The fps dip can happen at any point after the game has launched. Can kick up in a loading screen, main menu, customization screen, battle pass, game over screen, etc.

Is there anyone else experiencing this on PC? My series X has run it flawlessly but I simply don’t have a proper set up to use my M&K combo on the console so I tend to gravitate toward PC. Again, if this is the wrong place to report something like this, please let me know. I’d be happy to report this in a more appropriate channel.

(Edited for spelling/grammar and forgot NVIDIA driver version)

Had to dig around for the “Submit a Request” link but eventually found it. Thanks!
