Infinite feels way too sluggish

The game is gorgeous. Im digging the grapple and the commando is a great gun. That said. The game feels like im running under water. Ive been an avid halo head since CE. This multiplayer even with sprint feels slower than pre-reach by a long shot.

Part of this is the comparison to the quick movement in 5 and i think it is a terrible decision to remove the thruster movements as it made the game feel so much more super human. Quick dodge and dash to close distance added so much depth to the gameplay. So were swapping that for a finite number of grapples.

Fine. I hate that decision (but do enjoy the grapple). I wish we could have both, however, of the thrusters are truely gone you guys HAVE to fix the movement speed especially while sprinting. It feels like a clunky robot lumbering through quicksand.

Also the new shot gun sucks. 2 shots in cqc for a kill? Seriously?

Please polish these issues out and the game will be infinitely better. Pun intended

The thruster is one of those great divides. I prefer Halo without it, I think with the repulsor, it works better. Sprinting also seems to be a divide, I like the new sprint, guess it’s one of those things that will be fine tuned along Infinite’s journey, with all the feedback given to 343 over these technical flights, things should be more balanced on release.

They’ve tried the uber superspeed vertical movement dash dash jump 400IQ move FPS multiplayer shooter with Titanfall 2, go see how many players are online right now. It’s cool but it only appeases a tiny subset of l33t gam0rs.

I’m pretty much fine with how infinite plays but I do agree that it is slow in a few places. Like the sensitivity always feels off. No matter how high I put it or tweak other sensitivity settings it just always feels a little too slow. Now I know if you max it out it’s going to go light speed but the sensitivity really feels slow no matter what I do compared to H5 where aiming feels fast and snappy. I finally started to get some decent settings going but it still feels a little slow.

I love the way they’ve done the movement. The run speed is perfect and not map breaking fast. I applaud not including thrusters or any other garbage that reeks of Halo Reach, which to me was the beginning of the game’s downhill slide.

Well… i hated thrusters so i am glad they were gone and to me the game was the opposite of sluggish. It was fast paced and i was always in the action. I didn’t feel slow, in fact i felt very fast.

The default controller settings are really off. A lot of slow turning and jerky movements. So bad I thought my controller might be broken. Here is what I changed to make it feel as responsive if not more than H5.

  • Move: Max Input Threshold - 10 -> 15 - Look: Max Input Threshold - 10 -> 15 - Look Acceleration - 2-> 5 - Look Sensitivity (Horizontal) - 4 -> 10 - Look Sensitivity (Vertical) - 4 -> 10 - Mouse Magnetism (Under Mouse/Keyboard Settings) -> DisableI hope 343 sees because this has been the most fun I’ve had playing Halo in years but it took me tinkering with settings longer than most would bother. If it launches as responsive as it felt for me this weekend this game is going to be huge. I had a blast. Feels like retro Halo with modernized mobility.
