Infinite feels like COD with shields

Son of a -Yoink!- they are right they even have Spartans in it

Also this got a chuckle out of me

It feels like COD because the maps feel exactly like COD maps. The true arena style 4v4 maps are the same 3 lane formula that COD developers have used for like 10 years now. The map design in this game is mediocre at best and until 343i releases some quality maps that break from the formulaic repetitious snooze fest, this game will continue to suck.

The maps are what make halo feel like halo. Using power weapons and map control to dominate the other team is what halo is all about. We’re not getting that with these bland maps rn. The weapons and maps are supposed to feed off of each other to provide that halo experience. The disconnect between the two in this game is palpable. That’s why it feels like cod.

I’m not sure about the Elite controller but guess so…though I never used the paddles since always felt like I was always accidentally pressing them so took them out.

It took some time to get used to. I started with one then two and then 4. Once I got used to them I was able to thrust slide jump faster than most people.

If you have the elite controller try to use this setup

Bottom right paddle - jump

Top right paddle - melee

Bottom left paddle - Sprint

Top left paddle - switch weapon

The thing about the paddles is that you have to rest your hands on them not hover over them.

If you have Halo 5 forge on the PC or the Xbox try it out.

If on Halo 5 I used

Left bumper - thrust

Right stick click - grenade

Right number - reload

Left stick click - crouch (hold to crouch)

Then turn off always maintain Sprint. What this does is allows you to follow up with extra moves like spartan charging right after a thrust.

I also use these exact setting for Halo infinite with the thruster button being the equipment button

Are you stupid? Did you just, forget about the equipment?

Equipment isn’t part of the base gameplay. That should be obvious to you

Oh this is one of those ā€˜game is like this at x ranked level’ posts. Everything was reading really strange before that line. Every game’s requirement to do well changes significantly once you compete at a certain level of matchmaking. Making balance changes based on the experience of a smaller percentage of players is very risky and in my experience rarely works out for everyone.

I’m thinking that what the OP is trying to say, halo is all about the skilled use of precision weapons The AR has always been a viable choice in close quarters, but now its dominate from close to medium-long range. in ranked the AR is a wall spawn, I’ve picked it up once or twice, and the other team didn’t stand a chance, it either needs more bloom or a major range nerf.

Everyone keeps saying the TTK is high and I just don’t see it. Like, sure.m maybe if a player is standing completely still. But realistically the lack of bloom, mag and so on as well as player strafe being INSANELY fast and instant just throws off the aiming. So I don’t really know where this high TTK argument is coming from. People make really bad plays In this game by rushing in because everyone is running around like chickens with their heads cut off just to finish a kill.

Even if they just wider the spread Abit. But the distance is my major issue with it. I shouldn’t be no shielding someone on top of bazaar from the opposing walkway. It’s crazy.

no its the lowest its ever been even getting a perfect kill with h5’s mag or BR (pre recoil nerf) is slower TTK than any weapon in H Inf.

this 100%, the game might as well have spartan charge with the number of people rushing in for melee kills

Thank you. This is exactly what I’ve been saying

How is that an issue? The ar is fine where it is. It doesn’t another nerf.

The AR has taken the role of the magnum. That’s all. Why is it so bad when the AR gets a chance to shine?

because it takes 0 skill to use just point and hold the trigger till you get a kill

You can’t even hit accurately that far. RR range turns off when you’re aiming from across the walkway on Bazaar.

Plus, that walkway is in plain view and it’s generally not a good place to stand for too long. Move out the way.

Heck no, I can hit my targets 3 times that distance in btb.

And how fast can you kill them? Because I know damn well you ain’t hitting the optimal kill time of 1.25s let alone a optimal body ttk time of 1.65s

It shined plenty before. The issue here is everyone complaining about the BR being too useful in past Halo games are now excusing the AR for being too useful. The maps in BTB are big. It makes sense that the BR should be the starting weapon, and this AR cracks shields at a distance and the hold of a trigger. It’s ridiculous.

How is that any different than a magnum cracking shields at a distance? It’s a pistol.
