343: I came here to apologize. I have been critical about the direction of Infinite lately. Perhaps it was because of the whole armor coatings controversy, or because the old halo shotgun and magnum are not in the game. Free to play is a scary thing to me as a Halo fan, and I was afraid it would change everything I love about Halo. For awhile now I have felt like life-long fans were long forgotten, and had no voice. I had given up hope.
That was UNTIL TODAY:
Now I am so hyped looking at the wonderful job you guys did with the multiplayer info. The best part wasn’t even the pictures. It was how you talked about in-detail and clarified the greatest concerns fans have voiced. You also gave us specific examples which helped a lot! I feel heard. It hearkened back to the days of olde’ when I would check Bungie.net every Friday for my weekly dose of passionately detailed halo developer news. I felt like part of that team. Invested.
One suggestion:
I love the format of Developer Updates that Blizzard Overwatch Devs use, as well as Bungie ViDocs. I know that takes more times and energy, but If we could expect those kind of updates, even quarterly, it would go a long way in restoring community relations with halo fans. This update has been a huge leap in the right direction. Could I get really picky about some things still? Sure, but in all honesty, I am very pleased with the new information about Infinite. Now, I feel like this game really has a chance to be the best Halo game ever!
Who here agrees? If you have a similar experience of rekindled hope for Infinite, please share it below. Sorry if this all sounds cheesy, but I don’t really care. We are all on this forum because we obviously are passionate about Halo! I owe the hardworking folks at 343 an apology for talking smack about the quality of this game, and they also deserve to know that some fans are pleased with the recent improvements. Sorry guys! Honestly, after reading the whole update twice over, I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. That was just… perfect.
Please, continue to take the time you need to give us, the fans, the Halo game we all so desperately want. Sure, the delay stings a little, but I am confident that it will be worth it. I am a Halo fan to the bone, seriously, and this update just filled me with so much hope and excitement.

Bro, that’s exactly how I feel too! I’m probably going to read it again two more times just to take it all in. Loved that update!
Don’t need to apologise my man. That’s our voluntary job as community members to voice our opinions whenever we feel it is needed. It is always good to see some reasonable opinions here with people that don’t go on the extremes.
I just wish the rest of the close-minded OG fans had the same change of heart and mindset. I’ve seen instances where they called people who were open to this change “bootlickers” and whatnot. It disheartens me to see it. Of course there’s a couple things I don’t necessarily like or agree with, but that’s okay. At least, coming from an OG fan myself, here since the days of Combat Evolved, I’ve never been more excited. Infinite will be great. Nobody else will change my mind. And I’m going to enjoy it to it’s fullest.
this does certainly renew faith a little and I hope for the very best in what they can deliver. Without passion there is little to care about and that’s what it’s felt like for a while regarding certain directions. Fingers crossed but I am at least certain Joseph Staten is a very good thing for 343 along with others in the team that no doubt that feel equally passionate. Hopefully Infinite is exactly the sort of game we can see from the campaign concept shot
When I first read that the game was delayed until the fall I felt immediate disappointment. But then I read the article, and saw the screenshots and my mind was instantly changed. I am really looking forward to what 343 is doing now and will gladly wait for the fall.

I never cared about the graphics (to an extent) but I’m happy they addressed it and are upgrading it because I know a lot of people do care about graphics. Loved the update, the map and armours/weapons look great.
Yep agreed I personally love the design and weapon/armour designs they showed off recently, really reminded me of reach in a way.My only problem now is that I’d like to know more about armour coatings but I’m sure 343i will elaborate on them sometime down the line.
