Infinite Campaign Price

The Halo Infinite campaign costs too much in my region compared to regions that have better economy. Its priced 200% more than steam suggested price. It should be at least less than 40$.

Edit:
All other microsoft games cost less then 40$ here including Age of Empires IV and Forza V.

Where are you getting the idea that the game should cost less than $40?

In the US, the standard cost of the game is $59.99 USD.

It’s price is a non-issue when you could just subscribe to a single month of Game Pass which should be more than enough time to complete it. Do that then down the line just buy a physical copy cheap if you really need to “own” it. Physical games are so easy to get cheap within just a year of release.

While I’m not sure that I’d say it needs to be less than $40 I am concerned about how much “bang we’re getting for our buck.”

Different insiders are claiming that Infinite is actually pretty short for a Halo game. If the campaign is only 5-7 hours long, lacking co-op at launch, and is still $60 that’s extremely disheartening.

Sony’s $60 titles usually range anywhere from 18-20 hours long. If Infinite launches with a very short campaign and content missing still priced at $60 then that will not be a good look when compared to what the competition has to offer.

There is also no regional pricing on Steam which is a major blow. Microsoft games are usually appropriately priced according to where you buy it - Halo Infinite is not. EA’s Battlefield will be cheaper at launch. This is a big problem because it likely terrible for sales in earths most populated region.

Im not in the US and the standard cost of games here is $40 USD

People tend to forget that there is a whole world outside of the west. Regional pricing is important for games to sell in countries that are economically less strong. Halo Infinite is on Steam Microsoft’s most expensive title by a large margin in Southeast Asia with a western full-price. This makes the campaign unavailable to many on launch, fueling pirating, key-retailers, and just overall drops potential profit. We are not even asking for anything out of the ordinary, the opposite is the case - give Infinite an ordinary regional price like every other MS product. I remember when Gears 5 came out I got it for around $20 on launch.

yes microsoft changed their strategy on regional pricing, IGN also have a article about this.

it seems the price of halo infinite in india and also other xbox games doesn’t fit their economy which is sucks. i personally avoid gamepass because of non-functional windows store and xbox app that comes with a lots of headaches.

Thank you for the link, I had no idea. This is absolutely terrible news. I guess there won’t be Infinite for me at launch then.

For me, as a german, most games cost here about 59€ when they are released. But since Halo Infinite will NOT released with Co-Op campaign and no forge, why the hell should I spend then more than 40€ for a campaign? MP is free2play so that doesn’t count

I’m getting it through gamepass, so I’m not worried about price really for myself… that being said this campaign better be comparable to other massive single player games from the past few years. Games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Tomb Raider, Jedi: Fallen Order, etc. to name a few. This game has to justify its price point. Because if it’s just around 8-10 hours like a standard campaign I can’t see any reason the game is being sold at full price. Now I don’t mean I hope it copies those games, but Infinite’s campaign has to have enough content in it to justify the full $60.

Of course they have to justify that. Like imagine u run into a store, see Halo Infinite but with a price of 60€ - and you know the game itself has no forge/Co-Op campaign and the Mp is free to play

My theory is that they’re betting on game pass to make this thing work out over the next ten years. $60 seems like a lot for ~8 hours of normal campaign (I say that as someone who is typically pretty easy to please and has put in extra time beating every halo campaign on legendary). At the same time, $60 is not that much to a developer dedicated to 10 years of free upgrades. I guess they could have paid DLC for campaign, but then you have to have some pretty compelling content to not piss off everyone who already paid $60 for just the core campaign. It doesn’t take that many whales to support the cost of continual development of multiplayer for my fellow free loaders (yeah, I know who I am), but developing 10 years of campaign seems like a money pit for developers without game pass

This is exactly my “tactic” in this

People moaning about campaign price. Should just get over themselves honestly.
Its no different to guying a $70 rachet and clank or horizon.
Oh wait it is cause its also on gamepass…
Thats why the regional pricing for ms going forward has changed.
They want you on gp they don’t want to sell you the game.

I was wondering what country you’re in as you didn’t specify. Somewhere in Europe, I guess? Germany? I gave the US pricing for reference as I thought it was standard across the board; just that it appeared to cost more or less based on currency exchange rates.

I wasn’t aware that this game had a regional marketing price difference until I read other’s comments mentioning it.

I know the meme but not sure of the intent your comment has to be honest.
All I know is I’m sick of the complaining about price.

Farcry 6 seems to be highly anticipated yet to see its price be an issue.

Technically the price of the full game remains the same.
Despite lack luster launch state.

But people asking why its full price or why MS policy on pricing has changed baffle me.

Its because of that thing they are mentioning every 40 seconds that swung the narrative of xbox and will be talked about negatively mid way through the current gen as being problematic due to it enabling the servicisation of games.

I really don’t know how people can not read the room.

yes there is regional pricing for it.

Yeah I don’t really feel like the campaign is worth the full $60 price tag. Particularly if it’s going to launch missing co-op
