3 Main Problems:
- BTB is supposed to be a chaotic vehicle heavy experience but due to the new drop in system players are barely able to access them. Players(myself included) have gone dozens of games without even seeing a banshee or scorpion tank, let alone drive one. If they are seen it’s in the final minute of the match time, leaving the people that do get them with barely any time to enjoy them. Which brings me to the next fatal flaw in the new system: they drop in right in front of the base, giving the enemy the perfect chance to Skewer them.
Solution: Have vehicles spawn the same way they always did, no makers or alerts either
- Vehicles are too weak: with so many counters they are very easy to pick off even without power weapons or equipment Vehicles such as the warthog constantly get decimated by small arms fire and put into “doom” states far too easily. If players know that the risk is most likely not going to be worth the reward they will be less likely to jump into a warthog and more likely to just ignore it.
Solution: increase vehicle health and get rid of doomed states, they add some realism but in practice they are not good for gameplay.
- the Warthog:
The warthog is supposed to be a close-mid range drive-by run and gun vehicle but because the turret reticle is much smaller than previous iterations it is much harder to aim and stay on target, if it’s hard for the gunner to acquire a target then they will get picked off easily by small arms fire. It should not be easier and more fun to be outside of a warthog than it is to be in one. The wider spread in previous games made it so that the warthog was effective and easy to use close range but balanced at longer ranges.
Solution: widen the spread and reticle of the warthog turret, make it similar to the detached turret.
I’m sure other posts have been made about this but the message needs to be heard.
