Insider flighting isn’t the same thing as a public beta.
That flight is going to be so important. I really hope I and all of us on this forum get invited, not because I’m greedy but because I want us all to help make this game the best it can be.

Well yeah, but most of us are already insiders.

They have been very generous with the recent MCC flights. I’d be surprised if they limited invitations for Infinite. (Maybe in the beginning for server capacity reasons, but I think they’d everyone a chance to play at some point.)

Not the same thing, but they could always just make it open to all registered Insiders.

Fingers crossed!! If not they could always break it up into two separate groups and divide the Insiders group in half.

It is a shift in terminology and execution, but the principle is the same. You are letting users use the software during development to garner feedback and find bugs on a wider array of systems.
These days the lines are really blurred given the capability to patch software on the fly over the internet. All released software feels like it is in an indefinite beta period.
Yeah I don’t like the sounds of this as they will get to play it and other people won’t. How do you even become an insider again, People will be asking. It’s just going to get flooded so hard with requests and it will just piss off people who don’t get in. You’re better off just to have a public beta and go from there.

I think you sign up via your profile on here. It also requires you to download Halo Insider app on your xbox. I do this at great peril missing out on this potential flighting experience.

The flighting system worked for MCC, so they’re sticking to it. I personally don’t have any issues with it, but I totally get where you’re coming from.
A lot of the concerns regarding people missing sign-up dates can be resolved with a second wave of invites once the flight begins, or opening it up to everyone in later waves.
But even if you promote it on your website, on gaming websites, on social media, on gaming platforms, for months in advance, publicise it during the flight and make it the biggest affair you can, there will still be people who show up a month after the flight concludes to complain that they didn’t know about it and 343 should have done more to tell them.
Even with the best will in the world, you can’t reach everyone.
I hope we can see more weapons in that tech test… unfortunately We can’t use a thruster pack…
