I’m going to start off and say I’m on the fence with whether there should be a battle pass in halo infinite however… If they did I think it would be cool to have to choose a side. Humans or Elites. The max rank for humans could be master chief armour for elites the arbiters armour

As long as you can unlock both with one purchase, it’s fine by me!

would you prefer it to be in game purchase
The idea of a battle pass has grown on me. Mcc’s version works pretty well and other paid versions with a hand full of unlocks for people who don’t pay scattered through out it have worked out pretty well for everyone in other games imo, especially in apex’s case. As long as there are also cosemetics that can be earned in an alternative way via credits or achievements. But over all a battle pass type system might be fun for infinite.
Just no to Battle Pass’s, I don’t want my games turn into tedious grinds with limited timed events. Battle pass’s, MT should stick to free to play games.
I think that if there is a battle pass it should be free and be like mcc’s battle pass, but it should also have offline challenges because I know that a lot of people don’t play multiplayer and want to earn the rewards as well.
I’d be fine with a battle pass as long as there are no exclusive item types. For example, the only way to get a helicopter skin in Modern Warfare is by the paid battle pass. While I’m not against having a paid battle pass, I don’t want the only way to change your visor color, for example, be through a paid battle pass.

I mean, it would help pay for the amount of people who will play it on game pass, soooooooooo…

the people who have game pass pay for it and bc halo a first party game there paying for it in a way
If they took the existing MCC version and allowed you to buy any item you wanted once you got a point, I would be fine with that. I don’t like how you have to grind and grind until you get the piece you want, all the while unlocking all sorts of stuff you have no interest in. It’s better than a straight lootbox system since you know what’s coming next, but it’s no different in that you have no choice of what you unlock. Reach 360 allowed you to unlock the armor pieces you wanted.
This generation has focused heavily on forcing players to keep coming back to games so as to artificially inflate playerbase numbers and the current battle pass system is an example of that. It’s not bad or anything by any means since the battle pass is much better than having any sort of disgusting MTX or lootboxes. But, it’s worse than a system that is now almost 10 years old (or 13 if you consider H3’s system) which gave you choice.
For me I would want there to be a standard progression system. A battle pass would have to be something extra, dlc items etc.
With a battle pass I don’t want things to be time gated and gone forever. If the season ends then how are we earning those old rewards? Straight purchase? Loot box?
Personally I’m not a huge fan of Battle Passes in any game. Just doesn’t seem very Halo to me
I think battle passes are beyond boring, intrusive and just the most modern trick to keep players engaged while also milking them to death. It’s lotboxes again just without RNG, but even more grinding with more instant gratification. I don’t wanna see them again, especially not like R6S or CoD did it recently.
Those systems are just a cheap replacement for a gambling system imho, with a free path giving you basic stuff that should be tied to achievements or your rankings, but are instead just excuses to keep you playing. And at the biggest chunk of the cosmetics and the best goodies are locked behind a pay wall, while waving them under you nose even though you just want to play the free path! I mean…
You see that special animation? You just need level 20 to get it! What are 20 hours of gameplay anyway? I mean, sure, you won’t be able to unlock it next week because it’s a time limited unlock, but it wouldn’t be special if it was always there, would it now? I mean, sure! Halo 3 has the most recognizable armors ever of the whole series and it’s because those were tied to hard to unlock achievements and nothing else, but stuff you get by grinding in a limited time frame is equally as good, isn’t that true now? Oh, wait! You got a 40+ hour job and live fairly far off from home so you don’t have the time to grind so much? Don’t worry, we made time savers just for you! That’s right! With the booster packs you can avoid the road blocks we developed on purpose! Selling the solution to the problem we caused like in the good ol’ days, aren’t we nice? People who work can spend 10 bucks a week, right? It just works! The system just works! Wait, what? There is another game releasing you are interested in playing? C’mon, don’t leave us for Cyberpunk. It hasn’t even MT! Don’t you know that a game is basically dead if the publisher can’t milk extra cash out of their consumers for at least a steady year? Come back to us and grind it to max! Us and only us, or you won’t have enough time left to get all unlocks in time! Than again, you could just get time saver booster packs too. What’s that? you are a poor student without cash? Oh well, than I guess we don’t care that you are playing something else. You’re clearly not our target audience…
I shall lower my hand holding the “irony shield” now, because it is starting to get heavy as hell!. Long story short I hate those systems and I don’t wanna see it anywhere close to Halo! Give us something new at least!

If they added a battle pass to infinite, I don’t think that 343 would make it so that after the season you couldn’t get the rewards, as with mcc they said that the old season would still be there when the new season starts, I’m guessing that if they add a battle pass it’ll be like that. I think though that if they added a limited time battle pass that you had to pay for it’d probably ruin halo.
I’m not a fan of battle passes either.

Think that’s a good idea to be honest yeah, having the choice to unlock season rewards from older or current seasons.
Would be a bit bad for new players who jump in way later into the game BUT at least they still have the options available to them.
How about no?
Sorry but - in my eyes - AAA- games shouldn’t have such a mess like a battlepass.
Whats with those who buy the game after 4 months or 1 year? Do you know how awful it is if you want 100% of everything but can never had it cause of BaTtLe PaSs?
Battle Pass is an absolute no go, I will never support such a waste for a game like Halo. I prefer a game, filled with content that I already bought for more than 60€.
The discussion alone is heresy in my eyes…

I couldn’t agree more. I wouldn’t mind seasons pass for future DLC. Kinda like Division 2 year one and year two pass. If Infinite will have DLC who knows.
